In the space of eight years he founded four Passionist houses and exercised an extensive apostolate, preaching missions and retreats throughout the country. His writings and personal zeal brought many to the faith; most prominent among those he received into the Church was Blessed John Henry Newman. Fr. Dominic died at Reading on 27th August, 1849 at the age of 57. He was beatified by Pope Paul VI on 23rd October 1963. Pray for his canonisation. Read Fr.
