CHILDREN’S LITURGY -‐ This group is open to children aged between 4-‐9 years (9.30am Mass) NEXT SUNDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER FAMILY/CHILDREN’S MASS 9.30am – Celebrating the harvest. All the children of the Parish are invited to bring an item of food (non-‐perishable) which they are invited to bring to the altar at the offertory. Southwark Day of Renewal: Saturday October 8th, in Southwark Cathedral. The speaker is Michelle Moran, international president of Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services, who has spoken to thousands and thousands of Catholics all over the world. Transport will be arranged. FLOWER GUILD-‐ The flower guild will be decorating the church in celebration of the Harvest festival. If you have Chinese lanterns, autumn fruits or veggies growing in your garden and would like to contribute to the arrangements please them in the box at the back of the church next weekend. Thank you. Fr Mark will be absent this weekend as he is joining all the members of his family in Newcastle Anglican Cathedral for the farewell service for his brother, Bishop Frank White, Assistant Bishop of Newcastle on Sunday afternoon. Bishop Frank will be moving shortly to Hull to join his wife, Alison, who, as we reported in June last year, was appointed Bishop of Hull. Fr Mark will also be missing the following weekend (24/25 Sept) – he is taking part in a wedding in Dorset. Mark Nash -‐ Congratulations to parishioner Mark Nash, who has been appointed the first lay director of the Centre for Catholic Formation of the diocese of Southwark. We wish him well!!! Mercy Day in Aylesford…..as mentioned last week, we have arranged for a parish pilgrimage to Aylesford where we will go through the Door of Mercy, pray, reflect together and enjoy refreshments in the tea rooms. Saturday October 15. To arrive at Aylesford at 2.30 approx. Christmas Fair: there will be a meeting for all interested in providing a stall or in helping in other ways: Wednesday 21 May at 7.00pm in the parish room. The fair will be on Saturday 3 December. SEPTEMBER -‐ SVP AWARENESS MONTH-‐ We greatly appreciate how supportive of our efforts, the parish is, and each week in September, we will use the blackboard in the porch to display a reminder of our work. Our patron Cardinal Vincent Nichols observed that ‘the SVP provides an extended family on which we as brothers and sisters in Christ, can respond to the many and varied problems being faced within our communities’.
