FR. MALACHY’S DIAMOND JUBILEE OF ORDINATION will take place on Tuesday 13 December. The present proposal is to have Mass celebrated at 6.00pm followed by a reception in the parish hall. For those who wish to congratulate Fr Malachy’s sixty years as a priest there are donation envelopes at the back of the Church. PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL: Would you like to have the chance to help serve the parish by joining the Pastoral Council? We meet monthly and seek to find ways of improving the quality of parish life in all its aspects. Of late we have had the retreat hall kitchen refurbished; we took a major role in overseeing the Parish Mission in February; we have reviewed our list of contact details of parish members. An ongoing concern is to


encourage the New Evangelisation called for by the last three popes. If interested, please speak to any of the parish clergy or to Gerry McWilliams, chair of the PPC or any PPC member. LET’s TALK: Adults: There is a commonly held view that the Church has lost touch with the world…what do you think? If we are out of touch, what can we do about it? Come and join in the discussion in St Mary’s Catholic Club. Monday 21st November, 7.00pm. All welcome.

The Wednesday Lunch -The next lunch is on Wednesday November 9th. New members always welcome. Please give your name to any of the priests or Sr. Corinne. Look forward to seeing you all, this coming Wednesday.

The Charity is for projects in Tanzania, which have already provided toilets for villages, libraries for schools and built a pharmacy. COMPANIONS IN PRAYER Our next meeting is on Wednesday 9th November at 7pm in the Convent Chapel 25, Western Esplanade. Companions are reminded to bring bottles for the bottle stall at the Christmas Fayre. TRAIDCRAFT took £106.20 last weekend and there was also £195.12 from catalogue sales. Many thanks to all our customers. SVP ANNUAL CHRISTMAS HAMPER APPEAL. We plan to deliver hampers to local families in need, on the 8th December. If you are in a position to donate items for the hampers, please check the list on the blackboard in the Church porch. Your support is greatly appreciated. YEAR OF MERCY TALK AT ST TERESA’S ASHFORD: Talk on St. Josephine Bakhita – A life of fortitude and mercy. Monday 7th Nov 7.30 pm NOVEMBER DEAD LIST – Mass will be offered daily throughout November for those whose names are handed in. The November Dead Lists and envelopes are available at the back of the Church. OUR PARISH Christmas Fair: 3rd December – ONLY 4 WEEKS TO GO!! Donations are still needed (No Bric-a-brac please). There are still a few spaces left for your own stall: £10.00 paid prior to the day. Raffle tickets on sale in shop NOW! Helpers urgently needed. Meeting on Monday 14th Nov in the Retreat House 7.00pm Christmas Cards…. Now on sale in the shop. THE MEDITATION GROUP – Tuesday 2.15pm and Thursday 7.30pm (Upper room) AFM (MISSION) RED BOXES Box holders please let your promoter have your red box (or leave at the back of the Church) before the end of October. The promoters’ envelopes are available for collection from the back of church. Thank you for your support for the Missions. CONFIRMATION 2017 Call to young people in Years 9 & 10. If you are interested in learning about what making your Confirmation in 2017 will involve, please send your name, age and contact details into Father Mark-via email at ourladyhernebay@gmail.com . A general meeting will be arranged in early November when you can come along meet the team and ask what making your Confirmation will mean to you - we look forward to hearing from you.
