CHILDRENS LITURGY‐ This group is open to children aged between 4‐9 years (9.30am Mass) Children’s Liturgy Group – Please will parents of children who attend this group, collect a letter giving details of Christmas celebrations, from the back of the church. FAMILY MASS‐ This Sunday 27th November 9.30am Mass. After Mass all the children of the Parish are invited into the Retreat Hall for crafts/activities – soft drinks & biscuits. For the first three Sundays there will be Advent Prayer at 4.00 pm (27 November, 4 & 11 December); on December 18th we will have our annual Carol Service, an event not to be missed. Do try and make an effort to come for the Advent Prayer….an oasis of peace in the often frantic days as Christmas approaches. THANK YOU: for your response to our “emergency” evacuation of the church at each of the three Masses last weekend. The experience was useful and brought several things to our attention. Thanks also to those who sent in comments about the event – any other responses will be welcome. THE LET’S TALK SESSION in the Club went well on Monday with a very good attendance. It underlines the value of sharing our experience, hopes and difficulties. Watch out for the next topic.


FRIDAY is FIRST FRIDAY: Additional Mass at 7.00 pm , followed by prayers for healing. All welcome. THE MEDITATION GROUP – Tuesday 2.15pm and Thursday 7.30pm (Upper room)

CHURCH – ‘BIG CLEAN’‐ We are very grateful to Audrey & her band of cleaners. The “Big Clean” for Christmas will be on Tuesday 20th December at 10.30am. All team members are asked to attend. The rota for 2017 will be available. New members are always welcome. Please consider joining us.

TRAIDCRAFT This weekend 26/27 November after 6pm Mass Saturday and after 9.30 Mass on Sunday. Christmas cards, dried fruit, gifts for sale. NB. LAST TRAIDCRAFT UNTIL THE END OF JANUARY, stock up now.

FR. MALACHY’S DIAMOND JUBILEE OF ORDINATION will take place on Tuesday 13 December. Mass will celebrated at 6.00pm followed by a reception in the parish hall. Thank you to all those who have handed in donation envelopes – there is still time to contribute if you wish.

The Wednesday Lunch ‐ The next lunch club date is our Christmas meal on Weds. 7th Dec. For all information about the lunch club or to come along please contact Samantha on 07711270646

Refugee prayer: A great way to start Advent Our Lady Immaculate Parish Whitstable Justice and Peace group invite you to a family prayer for refugees on Sunday 27th November, 4pm starting in the social centre, Castle Rd. Please bring something that represents your identity (e.g. passport, driver's licence, cuddly toy for the children) and also a photo of your family (either printed off or on your phone). SVP ANNUAL CHRISTMAS HAMPER APPEAL. We plan to deliver hampers to local families in need, on the 8th December. If you are in a position to donate items for the hampers, below are a list of items which would be very much appreciated. If you are able to bring in ONE item, we would be very grateful. Thank you. HAMPER – Christmas cake/log ‐ Christmas pudding – biscuits ‐ mince pies — sweets/chocolates ‐ selection boxes ‐ tomato soup ‐ sage onion stuffing – gravy granules ‐ tins of ham/tuna‐crisps – jam ‐ breakfast cereals ‐rice pudding – custard ‐ tinned fruit – tea ‐ long life milk – toiletries – Christmas crackers

SVP PARISH CHILDRENS PARTY Children aged 4 – 11 are invited to the party on Saturday 10th Dec. It starts at 2pm – further details and application forms are available at the back of the church. Please return completed forms in the box by Sunday 4th Dec.

SVP ADVENT SNOWFLAKE APPEAL – Collection jars are available at the back of the church for our annual snowflake appeal. When you open your Advent Calendar each day please place a silver coin in your snowflake jar. Please bring the jars back on Christmas Day, whichever Mass you come too. The money collected will help our local people in need. Thank you.

OUR PARISH Christmas Fair: 3rd December – ONLY 1 WEEK TO GO!! 11.00am – 3.00pm Donations are still needed (No Bric‐a‐brac please). There are still a few spaces left for your own stall: £10.00 paid prior to the day. Raffle tickets on sale in shop NOW! Helpers urgently needed. Christmas Cards…. Now on sale in the shop.

Cleaning Group (A) – Other rotas can be found in the porch The Collections for last week were: 1st Collection ‐ Loose change £356.27 Gift aided £406.34= £762.61 NB If you are a UK tax‐payer then you can gift‐aid whatever you offer. To gift‐aid your offering please fill in one of the forms at the back of Church. The Catholic Youth Service Collection will be taken this weekend. Adoration every weekday: One hour, from 8.30‐9.30a.m. Also Saturday morning, 10.00 to 11.00. There is a further opportunity each week: at Convent Chapel, 25 Western Esplanade from 4.30 to 5.30 p.m. on Fridays.
