For the first three Sundays there will be Advent Prayer at 4.00 pm (27 November, 4 & 11 December); on December 18th we will have our annual Carol Service, an event not to be missed. Do try and make an effort to come for the Advent Prayer….an oasis of peace in the often frantic days as Christmas approaches. THANK YOU: for your response to our “emergency” evacuation of the church at each of the three Masses last weekend. The experience was useful and brought several things to our attention. Thanks also to those who sent in comments about the event – any other responses will be welcome. THE LET’S TALK SESSION in the Club went well on Monday with a very good attendance. It underlines the value of sharing our experience, hopes and difficulties. Watch out for the next topic.

CHURCH – ‘BIG CLEAN’‐ We are very grateful to Audrey & her band of cleaners. The “Big Clean” for Christmas will be on Tuesday 20th December at 10.30am. All team members are asked to attend. The rota for 2017 will be available. New members are always welcome. Please consider joining us.

FR. MALACHY’S DIAMOND JUBILEE OF ORDINATION will take place on Tuesday 13 December. Mass will celebrated at 6.00pm followed by a reception in the parish hall. Thank you to all those who have handed in donation envelopes – there is still time to contribute if you wish.

Refugee prayer: A great way to start Advent Our Lady Immaculate Parish Whitstable Justice and Peace group invite you to a family prayer for refugees on Sunday 27th November, 4pm starting in the social centre, Castle Rd. Please bring something that represents your identity (e.g. passport, driver's licence, cuddly toy for the children) and also a photo of your family (either printed off or on your phone). SVP ANNUAL CHRISTMAS HAMPER APPEAL. We plan to deliver hampers to local families in need, on the 8th December. If you are in a position to donate items for the hampers, below are a list of items which would be very much appreciated. If you are able to bring in ONE item, we would be very grateful. Thank you. SVP ADVENT SNOWFLAKE APPEAL – Collection jars are available at the back of the church for our annual snowflake appeal. When you open your Advent Calendar each day please place a silver coin in your snowflake jar. Please bring the jars back on Christmas Day, whichever Mass you come too. The money collected will help our local people in need. Thank you.
