THIS WEEK’S FEAST DAYS: Thursday 2nd February – Presentation of the Lord (Candlemas). This lovely feast celebrates the meeting between Simeon, Anna and the Holy Family. Simeon exclaims that, seeing the infant Jesus, he has seen “the salvation of Israel and the Light to enlighten the Gentiles”. The theme of light is what gives rise to the feast of Candlemas and the blessing of candles. FRIDAY is the feast of St Blaise and we will have the blessing of throats at the 10.00 Mass.
FIRST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH: Friday 3rd February, Mass at 10.00am and 7.00pm. At the evening Mass we will be joined by some young people with musical instruments.
