FEAST DAYS: Wednesday 8th is the feast of St Josephine Bakhita, herself a victim of trafficking: this is a special day of prayer for victims of trafficking. Saturday 11th: Our Lady of Lourdes: world day of prayer for the sick. Next Sunday is Racial Justice Sunday and a retiring collection will be taken for the work of the Catholic Association for Racial Justice which promotes racial justice in schools and parishes. PLATEA : The second edition of our parish magazine, is being planned for March. The first edition was very well received. For this edition, we are looking for reflections on our parish Mission, led last February by the Sion Team. If you could write a reflection of between 50 and 100 words and have it ready by 18 February, that would be great. Either hand it in to the house or email:


CAP (Christians Against Poverty) are running their well ‐ established “MONEY COURSE” at the Baptist Friendship Centre for three weeks on Tuesday evenings , starting on 21 February. There are many thousands of people in the UK who are now not in debt because of what they learned on the course. However, it is not just for those struggling with debt: it’s for anyone who wants to sharpen up their budgeting and make their money go further. Please see poster in church porch or take one of the cards from the ledge at the back of the church. The course is free, including materials. PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL: Meeting Wednesday 8th February at 7.00pm in the Parish Room. FUNERAL THIS WEEK – Philomena Rose Ann Reilly on Wednesday 8th February at 11.00am TRAIDCRAFT took £146.60 last weekend plus £81.95 in extra sales. Thank you for your support. COMPANIONS IN PRAYER The Companions in Prayer meet on the second Wednesday of the month. Our next meeting is on Wednesday 8th February 7pm at the Convent Chapel, 25, Western Esplanade. New members are always welcome. AUCTION & IRISH CEILIDH FRIDAY 17TH MARCH TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE STREET CHILDREN OF THE PHILIPPINES The Sacred Heart Sisters and companions are holding an auction and Ceilidh, Irish evening in the retreat Hall on St. Patrick’s Day. All the proceeds raised will go to the street children in the Philippines where the Sacred Heart Sisters work with the very poor. If you would like to support the sisters, you can do so by. 1. Donate good quality items for the auction 2. Come along on the 17th March and enjoy an Irish welcome and auction. 3. Buy raffle tickets on sale after all the weekend masses. This session takes place in the Retreat Hall and starts at 6.00 pm THE WEDNESDAY LUNCH CLUB ‐ Don't be lonely, come and join us next meal is Wednesday 8th February. You will enjoy a good meal cooked on the premises, plus good company, suggested donation of £3. To gift‐aid your offering please fill in one of the forms at the back of Church. Adoration every weekday: One hour, from 8.30‐9.30a.m. Also Saturday morning, 10.00 to 11.00. There is a further opportunity each week: at Convent Chapel, 25 Western Esplanade from 4.30 to 5.30 p.m. on Fridays.
