The first one will be on Saturday 25 March and it will run from 10.30 to 4.00pm. We will be looking at St Matthew’s Gospel, which is being read on the Sundays of this year. There are copies of the Gospel available in the shop – please see Sr Corinne. Further details to follow: why not give this a try: the nuns at Minster make us most welcome and we will be joining them for prayer at some point during the day. First Holy Communion Programme: next session at 6.00 on Tuesday 21st in the Retreat Hall.


WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER here at 2.00pm Friday 2rd March The pupils of La Sainte Union Convent School Herne Bay are holding a Mass and Dedication of a mosaic to remember the Convent School. The service will be held on Friday 24 Feb. 11.00am here in the Church. All past pupils & staff of the Convent School are welcome to attend. There will be light refreshments served in the Catholic Social Club after the service where all will be able to get together and reminisce about the old Days. SVP LENTEN APPEAL – The Lenten coin cards will be available next weekend after all the Masses. Please complete the card with a £1 coin a week during Lent. The completed cards will be collected on Easter Sunday. FANCY A SATURDAY WALK IN GOOD COMPANY?? There will be a group leaving the grotto area in front of the church on Saturday at 9.30 a.m., walking to King’s Hall and back, calling in to the Catholic Club for a hot drink and leaving time for anyone who wishes to attend the 11.05 Mass. Why not give it a try? The walk is wheelchair-and buggy-friendly. THE VOCATION OF HEALCARE: MAKING PEOPLE WHOLE. LET’S TALK: After the very successful session on Atheism last month, this month we tackle (so to speak) The Bible. Is the Bible important today? Why do Protestants seem to know the Bible better than Catholics? How do we approach the Bible in terms of science, history and morality etc? How do different communities eg. Christians and Jews differ in their approach to the Bible? How do other faith communities approach their holy books? Just a few questions to exercise your minds as we prepare for the next Let’s Talk session, which will take place on Monday 20 February from 7.00 to 8.30 in the Catholic Club. CHARITY CONCERT: MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS THERAPY CENTRE, CANTERBURY (MSTC)- 7.30 p.m. 25th MARCH The Hoath Village Singers are holding a concert in aid of the MSTC at the Hoath Village Hall CT3 4LA. Marriage and Family life are offering a one day reflection for married couples. An opportunity for all married couples to reflect on their marriage is being offered on Saturday 4th March 2017 at St Teresa’s church hall, Ashford. Please see poster in porch for further details. Couples who have attended the course noted the positive changes it made to their marriage. There is no group sharing and this is not marriage counselling or guidance but a chance to make your marriage even better. AUCTION & IRISH CEILIDH FRI. 17TH MARCH TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE STREET CHILDREN OF THE PHILIPPINES The Sacred Heart Sisters and companions are holding an auction and Ceilidh, Irish evening in the retreat Hall on St. Patrick’s Day. All the proceeds raised will go to the street children in the Philippines where the Sacred Heart Sisters work with the very poor. If you would like to support the sisters, you can do so by. 1. Donate good quality items for the auction 2. Come along on the 17th March and enjoy an Irish welcome and auction. 3. Buy raffle tickets on sale after all the weekend masses.
