CHILDRENS LITURGY- This group is open to children aged between 4-9 years (9.30am Mass) THIS Sunday, 26th February 9.30 Mass is the Family Mass. After Mass all the children of the Parish are invited into the Retreat Hall for ARTS & CRAFTS; along with soft drinks and biscuits/ Tea & Coffee for the adults. All welcome – come along and meet other families. A great way for the children to get to know one another. TRAIDCRAFT - will be only after the 9.30 Mass, this Sunday 26th February. Sat. night customers may call Moyra 368662 to arrange for anything they need. New catalogue now out. Collect one after Mass. Ash Wednesday is a day when we do not eat meat and when we fast. Ashes will be distributed at the 10.00 and 7.00 pm Masses. The question we must ask ourselves is: what can I do over the next 6 weeks that will help me draw closer to Christ? The parish will offer opportunities for prayer and , through the SVP, opportunities for helping the poor; the CAFOD Lent Fast Appeal will be made this weekend. Why not try a prayerful reading of St Matthew’s Gospel – there are copies on sale in the shop? Consider siging up for the day on St Matthew at Minster mentioned overleaf. Are there other ways of quiet and reflection that might help us get into the spirit of the season? FIRST FRIDAY: March 3rd: Evening Mass at 7.00 followed by a service of prayer for healing with a group of young musician. People felt very blessed by this event on the first Friday of February….why not come along this Friday? PRAYER AND PRAISE: THIS Sunday at 6.00 in the Parish Room.


Parish Pastoral Council: meet on Ash Wednesday after the evening Mass. HOUSE MASSES DURING LENT: We are still open to people offering their home for a House Mass: please contact Fr Mark or Fr Patrick. Christian Meditation each Tuesday at 2.15pm in the Upper Room & on each Thursday at 7.30pm (Upper Room) WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER here at 2.00pm Friday 3rd March. Please make a special effort to attend. Retreat Day at Minster Abbey: The Parish Pastoral Council mentioned a few weeks ago the possibility of arranging retreat days to help deepen our faith. The first one will be on Saturday 25 March and it will run from 10.30 to 4.00pm. We will be looking at St Matthew’s Gospel, which is being read on the Sundays of this year. There are copies of the Gospel available in the shop – please see Sr Corinne. Further details to follow: why not give this a try: the nuns at Minster make us most welcome and we will be joining them for prayer at some point during the day. The completed cards will be collected on Easter Sunday. FANCY A SATURDAY WALK IN GOOD COMPANY?? There will be a group leaving the grotto area in front of the church on Saturday at 9.30 a.m., walking to King’s Hall and back, calling in to the Catholic Club for a hot drink and leaving time for anyone who wishes to attend the 11.05 Mass. Marriage and Family life are offering a one day reflection for married couples. An opportunity for all married couples to reflect on their marriage is being offered on Saturday 4th March 2017 at St Teresa’s church hall, Ashford. Please see poster in porch for further details. Couples who have attended the course noted the positive changes it made to their marriage. There is no group sharing and this is not marriage counselling or guidance but a chance to make your marriage even better. All the proceeds raised will go to the street children in the Philippines where the Sacred Heart Sisters work with the very poor. If you would like to support the sisters, you can do so by. 1. Come along on the 17th March and enjoy an Irish welcome and auction. 2. Buy raffle tickets on sale after all the weekend masses. Cleaning Group – (A).
