CHILDRENS LITURGY- This group is open to children aged between 4-9 years (9.30am Mass) THIS SUNDAY 26th March is the FAMILY MASS 9.30am – All the children of the Parish are invited into the hall after Mass for arts & crafts. TRAIDCRAFT this weekend 25th and 26th March, after the 6pm Mass on Saturday and 9.30 Mass on Sunday. There will be an opportunity to contribute after all the Masses this weekend. TAIZE EVENING PRAYER IN LENT at Franciscan Study Centre, Giles Lane, Canterbury. CT2 7NA ON THURSDAY MARCH 30TH AT 7.30 PM ALL ARE WELCOME Organised by ACTA (A Call to Action) LENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR PRAYER: Sundays at 4.00pm: Rosary, Evening Prayer and Benediction; Fridays: Mass at 7.00pm followed by Stations of the Cross. There are also Deanery Talks on the Three Pillars of Lent: Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving. They take place at St Teresa’s, Ashford. FR CHARLES is still in good spirits in his room in Canterbury Pilgrim’s Hospice. He is most grateful for all your prayers and cards and all the ways you show your concern for him. Visiting is still mainly restricted to family and Passionist brethren. Fr Mark can advise about any other visiting.


THE PEOPLE’S PROJECTS: is a scheme promoted by ITV to help fund local projects. Herne Bay Umbrella Centre have put in an application to fund the hire of a kitchen so that they can continue to provide a weekly homecooked meal which those who use the Centre will prepare, thus training them with new skills. If you vote at thepeoplesprojects.org.uk for GREEN MINDS, the Centre will get your vote, and every vote counts. Confirmation preparation - The next session for our young people preparing for the sacrament of confirmation is this Sun. 26th March at 6.00pm in the hall. Please keep these 8 wonderful young people in your prayers. EQUAL SHARES- Monthly prize draw a chance to win 1st prize of £30, 2nd Prize £15.00 per month & supports the Church. Subscriptions due now. New ball numbers will be issued this year. Forms at back of Church. MASS IN CELEBRATION OF THE SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE - 17th JUNE 2017 at St George’s Cathedral (Saturday afternoon). If you are celebrating your 1st, 10th, 25th, 40th, 50th, or 60th+ wedding anniversary this year and would like to attend this very special Mass at St George’s Cathedral, where you can renew your vows, please fill in a form available at the back of Church, so that you can receive an invitation from the Archbishop. LAST DAY TO APPLY IS APRIL 23rd. Please hand in forms to Fr Mark. ST. PATRICK’S NIGHT AUCTION & DANCE –The Sacred Heart Sisters & Companions in Prayer wish to thank musicians and all those who contributed to the successful St Patrick’s night auction and dance. The event raised £1,364.46 for Street Children and poor families of the Philippians. HOUSE MASSES DURING LENT: Thank you to those who have offered to host a house Mass. Your offers will be honoured but it may not be possible to fulfil all requests during Lent. The next Mass will be in the home of Gail and Roger Fagg: 1 Lanchester Close, Studd Hill, CT6 8AH: 7.30pm on 29 March. Anyone who would like to come is welcome: please ring them on 369113 to let them know. SVP LENTEN APPEAL- We are halfway through Lent, please continue to collect your £1 coins & return the completed card on Easter Sunday. ANIMALS WORLDWIDE QUIZ in the Retreat Hall on Saturday, April 1st. at 7pm for 7.30pm start. Admission, £7 per person. Includes ploughman's supper and drinks. Tables for eight; bring a team, or come on your own, but do come. Once again, Peter Warr will be asking the questions. There will be a group leaving the grotto area in front of the church on Saturday at 9.30 a.m., walking to King’s Hall and back, calling in to the Catholic Club for a hot drink and leaving time for anyone who wishes to attend the 11.05 Mass. Why not give it a try? The walk is wheelchair-and buggy-friendly. PARISH SUMMER EVENT: after the success of the summer event last year, we have been asked to organise one for this year. The date is Saturday 24 June. We will need help to organise it and if you would like to join in, we will meet after the 9.30 Mass on Sunday April 2nd in the Retreat Hall. CHANGES TO LEGAL TENDER DURING 2017- The old £5 note will cease to be legal tender from 5th May 2017. It will not be accepted and can be changed at the Bank of England. The new £1 coin will be introduced on 28th March. The old £1 coin will be accepted until 15th October 2017. EASTER CHURCH BIG CLEAN- Tuesday 11th April – please join us on Tuesday 11th April after the 10am Mass when we clean the Church for Easter. All are welcome. GOOD FRIDAY WALK OF WITNESS: there will be a change this year The Walk will start from our church at 11.15 and proceed along the sea front to reach the newly paved town square for 12.00.
