MINSTER DAY: our day last Saturday in the beautiful atmosphere and surroundings of Minster Abbey went very well. In all, 33 people attended and enjoyed reflecting on several different passages from St Matthew’s Gospel. A number of people asked when the next Minster Day would be………. The Spring edition of our parish magazine “PLATEA” is going to be available very soon. As last time, we want to deliver it to all the addresses we have in the parish, and we would greatly appreciate the help of those who delivered the magazine last time…..or any other volunteers. FR CHARLES is still in good spirits in his room in Canterbury Pilgrim’s Hospice. He is most grateful for all your prayers and cards and all the ways you show your concern for him. Visiting is still restricted to family and Passionist brethren. Please also keep in your prayers Deacon James Foley who is getting rather frail and is suffering from a blocked blood vessel affecting his vision. NEXT SUNDAY is PALM SUNDAY: all three Masses will begin in the Hall. Offers of help to read the Passion will be greatly appreciated. And there will be an opportunity to contribute towards the cost of Easter flowers as you leave the church. LENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR PRAYER: Sundays at 4.00pm: Rosary, Evening Prayer and Benediction. THE PEOPLE’S PROJECTS: is a scheme promoted by ITV to help fund local projects. Herne Bay Umbrella Centre have put in an application to fund the hire of a kitchen so that they can continue to provide a weekly homecooked meal which those who use the Centre will prepare, thus training them with new skills. If you vote at thepeoplesprojects.org.uk for GREEN MINDS, the Centre will get your vote, and every vote counts.

MASS IN CELEBRATION OF THE SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE - 17th JUNE 2017 at St George’s Cathedral (Saturday afternoon). If you are celebrating your 1st, 10th, 25th, 40th, 50th, or 60th+ wedding anniversary this year and would like to attend this very special Mass at St George’s Cathedral, where you can renew your vows, please fill in a form available at the back of Church, so that you can receive an invitation from the Archbishop. LAST DAY TO APPLY IS APRIL 23rd. Please hand in forms to Fr Mark.

THE WEDNESDAY LUNCH CLUB - Don't be lonely, come and join us next meal is Wednesday 5th April. You will enjoy a good meal cooked on the premises, plus good company, suggested donation of £3. Call Samantha on 07711270646 FANCY A SATURDAY WALK IN GOOD COMPANY?? There will be a group leaving the grotto area in front of the church on Saturday at 9.30 a.m., walking to King’s Hall and back, calling in to the Catholic Club for a hot drink and leaving time for anyone who wishes to attend the 11.05 Mass. Why not give it a try? The walk is wheelchair-and buggy-friendly. PARISH SUMMER EVENT: after the success of the summer event last year, we have been asked to organise one for this year. The date is Saturday 24 June. We will need help to organise it and if you would like to join in, we will meet after the 9.30 Mass on Sunday April 2nd in the Retreat Hall. CHANGES TO LEGAL TENDER DURING 2017- The old £5 note will cease to be legal tender from 5th May 2017. It will not be accepted and can be changed at the Bank of England. The new £1 coin will be introduced on 28th March. The old £1 coin will be accepted until 15th October 2017. EASTER CHURCH BIG CLEAN- Tuesday 11th April – please join us on Tuesday 11th April after the 10am Mass when we clean the Church for Easter. All are welcome. GOOD FRIDAY WALK OF WITNESS: there will be a change this year The Walk will start from our church at 11.15 and proceed along the sea front to reach the newly paved town square for 12.00.
