PASSIONIST PROVINCIAL CHAPTER: Frs Patrick, Malachy and Mark are back after the Chapter at Minsteracres. It was a very blessed week, with lots of signs of hope despite the fact that the Passionists in this country are low in numbers. Apart from very positive reports on the activities of the various communities and on the progress we have made since the last Chapter 4 years ago, there were very inspiring contributions from laypeople who share in the Passionist spirit and who are often working in very challenging situations. The members of the previous Provincial Council were re-elected for a further term of 4 years: Fr John Kearns, Provincial; Fr Martin Newell, Vice Provincial; Fr Mark , Consultor. Thank you for your prayers. It was a very fruitful week. We have received many words of thanks from people attending Fr Charles’ funeral liturgies. The two services themselves made a deep impression on all who attended and much appreciation was expressed for the warmth of welcome and the quality of the refreshments. Fr Charles’s family were deeply grateful .
