We give thanks that God IS. We give thanks that we know what God is like through the life and teaching of Jesus. We give thanks that we can have a relationship with God through the Holy Spirit. We accept that our words and concepts are very inadequate to describe God but we know that He IS and that His love and providence embrace us. FEAST DAYS THIS WEEK- Tues 13th June St. Anthony of Padua. Friday 16th: St Richard of Chichester who is known for the lovely prayer: Lord Jesus, for these three things I pray: that I may know you more clearly, love you more dearly and follow you more nearly day by day. NEWS FROM THE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL: The PPC are working to produce a Welcome Pack for new parishioners and hope that it will be available before long. They are also in correspondence with the Council to provide a sign showing the way to the church – people often say they do not know where the church is and it is certainly not our intention to remain hidden!! Another project that is under consideration is to improve the access to the car-parking area in the grounds below the Retreat Hall. It is clear that parking near the church is becoming increasingly difficult, difficulties which are only likely to increase when the new housing in the school grounds is completed. The PPC also keeps very much in mind the call of Pope Francis, echoed by Archbishop Peter, to seek new ways of reaching out to others with the Gospel. Suggestions for improving the life and witness of the parish are always gratefully received. Please contact the PPCthrough the Parish Office.
