THANK YOU: For your most generous response to the appeal for clothing etc. for the refugees/asylum seekers in Calais/Dunkirk. We have passed it all on to the Salvation Army in Canterbury. Thank you also for the very welcome financial help. The need is still great need; any further donations will be forwarded to Canterbury. A CONCERT OF RUSSIAN SACRED & FOLK MUSIC given by the Sisters’ Choir of St Elizabeth’s Convent, Minsk, Belarus. This Wednesday 27th September, in church, 7.30 pm. There is no charge for this event but we will be able to support the work of the Sisters with a retiring collection. A warm word of gratitude to all those who have offered to host the sisters for Wednesday evening. Those of you who enjoyed the KONEVETS QUARTET on their visits here will find similar delight with this concert. FR PATRICK is away until Friday evening, as chaplain on a pilgrimage to Garabandal in Spain. FR MALACHY will be taking a very well-earned rest at home with his brother in Belfast for two weeks beginning this Monday.


THE SVP – September – SVP Awareness Month. There will be an appeal and a second collection this weekend to support the work of the SVP in our parish. If you want more information about the work of the SVP, please call the helpline 07869-509804. TRAIDCRAFT CATALOGUES are available at the back of the church. Please help yourselves. TRAIDCRAFT THIS weekend after 6pm Mass Saturday and 9.30 am Mass Sunday SACRED HEART COMPANIONS IN PRAYER: A mini bus has been booked to take the Companions to Marian House on Weds. 4th October. The cost is £25 per person. Please make your cheque payable to “Regent Coaches” please give your cheque to Sr. Maria or Mary Locke by Fri. 29th Sept. to secure your place. Thank you.

FATIMA PILGRIMAGE MAY 2018: We are looking at 10-16 May next year. Cost will vary according to total numbers going and is likely to be in the region of £800+. Have a think about it and we will arrange a meeting soon to consider options.

RED MISSION BOXES Thank you to our promoters and members for returning your red boxes. The member’s autumn newsletters are now available at the back of the church.

£1 – COINS: The old £1 coin ceases to be legal tender on 14/10/17. After that date the old £1 coins will only be accepted at your bank.

TODDLER GROUP ‘LITTLE ANGELS’ - Meets on Tuesdays from 9.30 to 11.30. This successful group are looking for someone to take responsibility for its running. Please contact Sue in parish office. THE FLOWER GUILD - Harvest Festival reminder - The Flower Guild invite parishioners to support us by donating any autumnal flowers/foliage/ fruit/ veg. (Chinese lanterns/ hops in particular). All donations to be left at the back of the church by 10.30 next Friday (29th Sept.) With thanks in anticipation of your support.

There is a further opportunity each week: at Convent Chapel, 25 Western Esplanade from 4.30 to 5.30 p.m. on Fridays. Sacrament of Reconciliation: Saturday 10am-11am and 4.30pm-5.30pm.
