RETREAT HALL: We hope you will notice that the outside of the Hall is in the process of being repaired and repainted. The plan is to completely refurbish the toilet areas, incorporating much improved disabled facilities. The Parish Finance Committee have felt this work is long overdue, as have many of those who use the Hall. The improvements recently made to the Club facilities will give an idea as to what we are planning for. WOULD YOU LIKE TO SIT MORE COMFORTABLY IN CHURCH? We are considering the possibility of putting padded runners on all the benches ,not, I hasten to add, because we are planning to lengthen our Sunday sermons (!!!) but because we think that many will welcome the idea. Any comments???? MESSAGE FROM BRENDA GRAY – “I would like to thank the priests, nuns & all my wonderful friends who have had masses said, lit candles & all the prayers said for me. I could definitely feel the love. I love you all. Thank you and God Bless. Brenda M. Gray.” PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL: Calling for new members!! We try to rotate the membership of the PPC and every two years some members stand down and others join. Members are asked to attend a monthly meeting and to be ready to join a sub-group when the need arises. All that is needed is a desire to help the parish grow and develop and to become a more effective Christian presence in the town. If you would like to nominate someone or if you would like your own name to go forward, please speak to Gerry McWilliams (current chairperson) on 740837 or speak to any member of the parish team. Your parish needs you!!! THE REFUGEE COMMUNITY KITCHEN which has been feeding thousands since 2015 in Calais/Dunkirk is running short of funds: their work is still urgently needed as there are hundreds of mainly young people still sleeping rough.
