LENT PRAYER: Stations of the Cross, Evening Prayer & Benediction, Sunday at 4.00; Evening Mass followed by Stations on Friday at 6.00pm –please note time and see item below. 24 HOURS OF PRAYER: Pope Francis has asked for this on 9/10 March. We shall start the 24 hours on Friday 9th at 6.00 pm with Mass and Stations of the Cross and conclude in time for the 6.00pm Mass on Saturday 10th. Please see the plan in the church porch and place a tick with in the hourly slot(s) you can cover. If you wish, you may add your initials after the tick. This is a very special time of prayer and sacrifice in which we will join with countless thousands of Catholics throughout the world to pray for the Church and for the world with all its many serious needs. The weather forecast is a bit more promising for the weekend, thank the Lord. DEANERY PREPARATION FOR THE EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS (Liverpool 7-9 September): Our parish will be hosting the first of three deanery gatherings to reflect on the Eucharist and its vital importance in our lives. It will take place on Saturday 10 March from 11.00 to 2.00. Fr Mark will be giving the talk at this first session. Theme: The Eucharist and Community. This is open to everyone and it will involve a talk on the Mass, with a particular focus on the first section of the Mass leading up to the Readings. The talk will be for 40 minutes followed by refreshments and then a period of discussion. There will then be a period of prayer before lunch – there will of course be the opportunity for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament as this meeting coincides with the 24 Hours of Prayer you are asked to bring a packed lunch, hot drinks will be provided. NEXT WEEKEND: We will welcome Sister Rose Mary Harbinson of the Congregation of Our Lady of the Missions to preach the Annual Foreign Mission Appeal on behalf of the Missionary Congregations of England and Wales. Sr Rose Mary’s Congregation have St Anne’s Convent in Sturry.


PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL: meet on Wednesday at 7.00 NOVENA FOR CANONISATION OF BLESSED DOMINIC CP: The Archdiocese of Birmingham and all Passionist houses in England are praying this novena each day until 9 March. Please join in at home if you can. MISSIONS/RED BOXES – The promoter’s envelopes are available at the back of the Church for collection. Members please return your red box to your promoter or hand in to the Parish Office. All donations to be returned by end of April. Thank you for your continued support for the missions.

On Weds. 14th March there will be Mass at 10am in our Church with a chance to get together in the Catholic Social Club afterwards. Leaflets with more info. at back of Church. PARISH CELEBRATION - Saturday 7th April- Save The Date- Fr Mark & Fr Patrick have milestone birthdays in March/April . The PCC would welcome this opportunity for the parish to get together to celebrate and express our thanks to the clergy for their hard work and dedication. There will be a special collection for Fr Mark & Fr Patrick with contribution envelopes available at all Masses on the weekend 17th/18th March. Presentations will be made at the event. More details to follow. Parishioners willing to help are invited to attend a meeting in the Retreat Meeting room after 9.30 Mass on Sunday 12th March. Meanwhile, on the night it is proposed that we include an “Our Parishioners Got Talent " show, and it would be great if wiling Parishioners share their talents.
