Entrance Antiphon Within your temple, we ponder your loving kindness, O God. As your name, so also your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled with justice.
FEAST DAYS –Weds. 6th July St. Maria Goretti. St. Maria Goretti was born on Oct. 16th 1890, in the small town of Corinaldo in Italy. She received her First Communion on 16th June 1901 from a Passionist, Fr. Basilio Morganti. The sermons of a Passionist in Nettuno first bought Maria to a realisation of what our Divine Saviour suffered on account of sin. So deep was the impression left on her that she was absolutely determined to undergo death rather sin. She proved her sincerity beyond all doubt. Around the age of twelve, she repeatedly resisted the advances of a young man to the point where he stabbed her to death, on July 6th 1902. She died with words of forgiveness for her murderer on her lips. She was canonised on June 24th 1950, her mother, Assunta, attending the Canonisation. The body of St. Maria Goretti is entombed in the crypt of the Passionist church in Nettuno. St. Maria Goretti deserves to be better known.
