Hello everyone “Miss Lingva” as a kind of scientific reporting on language and linguistics, increasing students’ motivation for learning foreign languages and my first international project experience. Well, what is a linguistic magazine? It is is a magazine with articles on linguistics- and language-based theory, news, application, findings, and field reports. It is committed to diversity in its scope of reporting, covering both the scientific and applied sides of linguistics, while maintaining a neutral stance towards debates occurring within the field. I love learning languages and try to use all the facilities for this. Once I saw an online linguistic magazine on the internet. It was Babel. Babel is written and compiled by world-class linguists. . And I liked the idea to create me own magazine. And I decided to bring this project to my classmates and foreign students. Of course, the publication of a school magazine is a very difficult task. And here is what I and my team did. Special Thanks to my colleagues! You are the best!

I
was lucky enough to gо to the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games, as a volunteer. A total of 25,000 games were volunteers who were chosen out of 200 thousand applications! The recruitment of volunteers began two years before the beginning of the game and ended on the1st of March , 2013. According to test results and interviews, which evaluated qualities such as resistance to stress, willingness to help, teamwork, responsibility, communication and language skills the main and reserve composition of future volunteers were selected. The next step on the way to the games was interesting training, which consisted of three stages. The first stage was the general course “My Games” in which we studied the history of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, especially the upcoming Games in Sochi, learned what skills must have a real volunteer. The next step was learning course “My job”, which we were provided details about the work on the subject, our functions and positions, and specifics of working with people with disabilities. At the same time we studied the forthcoming work remotely and studied English. The final and most long-awaited stage of training was “My object”. It was spent in Sochi, a few days before the start of the Paralympic Games. Finally came the

moment when we put on proudly volunteer form the first time and came to work to help people! I performed the function of EVS in the mountain ski center “Rosa Farm” and during this work I could try yourself at all positions. I was meeting arriving spectators and helped orientate themselves on a subject, in time to catch the competition to pass control system, which for the first time in addition to the tickets were used passports of fans to keep order during the competition on the podium. And the most important thing for us, we always smiled! Fans loved the volunteers for their endless positivity and kindness, that is why people often photographed with us and gave even commemorative badges, which was especially honored and pleased! Also I will never forget the opening XI Paralympic Games! It was a storm of emotions, thousand smiles, hundreds of volunteer “Hi Five” 40 thousand spectators and incredible pride! With 80 medals, 30 of them being gold, the host country of Russia won the most medals during these Games, and set a record for the most medals won by a single country during a single Winter Paralympic Games. missLINGVA/January, 2015

Kremenky is situated in Kaluga region and on the bank of the Protva river. It is a small, beautiful town not far from Moscow. Kremenky is a historical place. There were great battles near Kremenky .

When dreams become closer ... By Olesya Savchenko
Health is more precious than gold! Each person has a hobby and as a matter of fact little free time to do something what we like doing most of all. Without it , our life becomes boring and uninteresting. As for me, I have got a hobby too. Many people go in for sports, they like jogging, walking, swimming, skating, skiing. If you do sports you will begin to feel much better. I personally go in for sports. It is a very important part of my life. Before I started doing karate I had already tried ballet and gymnastics, but, unfortunately, I did not like any of them. My parents were worried, because they wanted me to do sports, as they thought, and they think sport is important for proper development of any person’s mind and body. Then, when I was eight years old, my parents offered me to do karate. They never insisted on doing things which I didn’t like, but, fortunately, I liked it . And I still love it. At first it was just hard work, but gradually I started enjoying my trainings, and I wanted to be successful in it.
Fortunately, I was not mistaken in my feelings. Hard work pays off, as they say. Now, I can consider myself a real sportsperson. I can proudly say that I’ve won a lot of prizes. I took part in local and national competitions. I have a black belt. Karate takes a large role in my life. I’m sure I’ll do it professionally in the future That is why speaking about sports I can’t help saying something about my favorite sport, that is karate. People who go in for sports are not only fitter and betterlooking than those who do not, they also have a more optimistic attitude towards life, because they know that hard physical work pays off. Nothing can compare with the feeling of excitement when you try to prove yourself that you are the best or you will overcome your laziness and weakness Sport can give you it! 10 missLINGVA/ January, 2015

Art in my life by Golubinets Anastasiya I think art plays a big role in human life. Let me tell you about my hobby. My hobby is drawing. It is very interesting, but difficult. If you want to paint welcome to our Children’s Art School. I have been studying drawing for 9 years. It’s been 5 years already since I first went there. My teacher will teach you basics of academic drawing. In the 1st form my artist friends and I swore to draw every day. I especially like drawing nature. I like to pass on a leaf what I see around myself or what arises in my imagination. The world is so beautiful. I stop, get the tools and draw on a canvas that I see before myself. I have once tried to draw my friend’s portrait but it didn’t come out well. Itisn’t easy, because I must do much homework. Yes, our teacher gives us much homework. I am very grateful to my teacher. She helped me to learned many useful and interesting things. So my friends…let’s draw?
Favourite hobby By Dasha Polukhanova Hobby is what people love to do in their free time. Hobby is not only interesting activity but also useful. In the modern world, a person needs to escape from his problems, and replaces them with something more pleasant. Everyone loves to occupy free time. Hobby can be quite different. I think that hobby is a feature of every person. I spend a lot of time on my homework but in the evenings I have enough free time to do my hobby. My favorite hobby is crochet. Crochet is a very interesting pastime. It all started with a technology lessons. At lessons we were taught to knit the simple products. But then I decided to try to link something more substantial. I know that it would be a good idea to link some toy. The result was a pokemon Pikachu. I think you know it all. Hobbies differ like tastes. I think that everyone should have a hobby, it is like the target of your life.
Also I was knitting figurines countries in the form of balls. Turned out funny! And I love to make gifts with my own hands. So, I did a lot of gifts my family and friends for special occasions and for no reason. It is so nice to give gifts that are made with love. And especially it’s nice to receive such gifts. Gift with your own hands is a real exclusive. A hobby helps to achieve exclusivity and uniqueness. Of course, not everybody finds his favorite pastime. Many people seek their hobby for many years, but eventually find it and enjoy it. Occupy your free time, what you like, and your life will be more pleasant moments. Hobby fills our life with pleasure, joy and bright colors!!!

My life has become more What does the word «hobby» mean? It is an activity, that implies doing , learning , making, collecting things. As usual people choose hobby, according to their characters and tastes. There are many kinds of hobbies. It can be gardening, painting, collecting stamps or coins. My hobby is drawing. I like it so much! Unfortunately, now I am very busy and don’t have enough time to spare. But if I have free minutes, I spend them on drawing. I Have never studied at an art school. Many of my friends go there and say they like it and it is cool. But I can’t understand how they can learn to draw. I think that it must be from birth or man is not given it. I such person, with difficult character, and I am not able to draw what is put in front of me. For example: a vase. How can a child draw it beautifully, If he doesn’t want to do it? I prefer to draw in pencil, because all shadows and glints can be done. I cope with drawing portraits of people best of all. Special accent I make on eyes. I very much like to draw different famous people. In my arsenal are portraits of Michael Jackson, Mila Kunis, ihanna, Amanda Seyfried, Bob Marley, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Twiggy. Four years ago I went to the club, «Butik». Butik is such a drawing technique, implies drawing on textile. It Is much more difficult than simple painting. All difficulties suggest colors will spread on textile, if you don’t follow the special technique. It is very interesting activity. But it demands careful and attention. I advise this activity to every creative person. At 1,5 year old I began to draw. Actually, at first time I tried to draw with lipstick. It is a funny story for everybody besides my mum. That day she has bought a new cosmetic. In those days it was very expensive and it was difficult to get. We were resting in the country. My mother put me to sleep…At least, she thought so. And there was a table near my bed there were her new cosmetics. I was very little and curious so, I took mum’s new lipstick and shadows. And, of course, you guess what happened next. My mum entered the room and saw me. All the bed and I were in lipstick and shadows. Mum was shocked and she fainted! 16 missLINGVA/ January, 2015
interesting with HOBBY! by Podzarey Anastasiya
Actually, I am very a gambling person and like to take part in different contests. This year I spent my summer vocation in an international children camp «Artek». It was my best summer vocation. At exactly, that time, the drawing competition was held. It was called «The space around us». I decided to take part in this competition, although I knew I would have a lot of rivals, and many of them drew better than me. I could draw everything I want, but so, that it was associated with space. I had to draw in my room at night, when all my 7 roommates were already sleeping. Why at night? Because I was very busy in the afternoon and didn’t have enough time for it. However funny it sounded, I had to draw in the bathroom. But there was enough space and light. Strong coffee saved me! So I did it. I drew goddess inflating bubbles in the form of planets. My sufferings were not in vain! I won the competition! Once another story has happened to me. At school in literature lesson we were studied Aleksander Block. I didn’t like His poem «Unknown woman». I hate it! Our literature teacher gave us homework to learn it by hurt. But I am very principal and refused to do it. My teacher was very angry with me. She knew that I was very busy and my timetable was fulled. But she said my homework would be to draw unknown woman, how I imagined her, by next day…So my sleepless night has begun again. You can see the result of it. My teacher liked it. I have got out of difficult situation and got an excellent mark. I also collect bells from different countries and cities. It is very exciting. By now I have collected 50 bells. So, my dear readers, you probably noticed my life has become more interesting with hobby. I advise you to find such an activity that you can enjoy.

Self-education By Fedorenko Lina Well, maybe you can think it’s too boring to talk about education but no, stay, I mean your future! Now I realize - if only I could read an article like that few years ago... You’re a good student, I guess. You do your homework carefully - it’s very well. But more important is what you learn except the school program. What do you want to be? Maybe a translator, an economist, a manager or a journalist? Now you see your way clear- you should pass some exams like history, literature or social subjects and you prepare for them. Good for you! You see the purpose and try to reach it. But a lot of students after choosing their professions say that the other subjects aren’t important for them anymore. Oh, please, don’t think this way! It seems that you’ll never meet chemistry, biology or mathematics in your life. But it isn’t so. These subjects are all around us. When I was 15 I used to think I’ll be a translator. I began to study English to prepare for my exam. The other subjects weren’t seem to be necessary, I learnt as much as the school program demanded it. But suddenly... Realize, I’m already 17 and I decide to go to a medical university! I had to study chemistry without knowing it at all for only three months... Who knows, maybe you’ll have the same situation? It goes without saying that self-education is very important in our life. Just imagine - you finished the university and now you have to find a good job. But a lot of ‘yesterday-students’ like you want to get that job, too! The boss will have to choose between you and others... And if you know or can do a little more than them, it will be your competitive edge! Did you know - in Japan, a worker can easily get a career development if he isn’t just good at his profession but can do anything except it? No matter even if he takes classes of ikebana - it means he can make up creative solutions for work. 18 missLINGVA/ January, 2015
Sport as a hobby in my life
by Polyakova Mariya Hobbies differ like tastes. If you choose a hobby according to your character and taste you are lucky because your life becomes more interesting. At the moment of my life, I can boast that I have a hobby that fascinates me every year more and more. It gives me strength, supports my health and keeps me in shape. Of course these are the words about a sports hobby. After all sport has always been popular in our country. My passion is biathlon or easier speaking skiing. When I was five years old, I first started skiing and I did not like it very much !!! My dad led me into the woods and taught everything that he knows every day. And I am very grateful to him, because if he failed to instill a love of the sport, I would have lost a lot in my life. Last year I signed up for a biathlon section, which opened in our town. I really liked the work-out and I was pretty well. But if you think that we have been taught only to ski, you are greatly mistaken. We regularly went to the shooting range and learned to shoot properly. To my deep regret, this year I finish school and it takes me a long time to prepare for exams, but despite that I spend every weekend riding in the woods in winter.
“It’s always interesting to talk with an intelligent man” - remember this quote by Fiodor Dostoyevsky? This is the another reason for self-education. An erudite person can always say something curious, you won’t ever feel boring with him. So why can’t you become such person? If you see anything interesting for you, please, don’t miss and forget it - just fix it in your mind, find as more information about it as you can.
In addition, when you’re in the wood while you skiing, you can enjoy the beauty of the forest, the inspiration comes to you and you can reflect on a fresh mind about the issues that you care about. I am sure that I will not give up my hobby in the future and will continue to do it! And I also want to advise a lot of guys, who are undecided yet what to do, doing sports, no matter what kind, it is important that you’ll be always healthy, strong and purposeful person !!!

THE WORLD OF DANCE
All people love dancing: adults and children. By Mukhametshina Elena and Irina Specially, children love dancing because they express their feelings and attitude to the world by dance. And we have been dancing since we could remember ourselves. Firstly, it was just unconscious movements with music, then we began to understand difference between fast and slow, sad and cheerful music. And movements of legs, hands, expressions of faces were becoming more and more appropriate for different styles. Our mother danced with us and it was very fun and interesting. We have been dancing since we were both five years old , at firstly, in the club “Rovesnik”, then at the choreography department of School of Arts, then in the dance studio «Where Dreams Dancing is an integral part of our life. TrainCome» under the direction of Julia Kostyrin. ings, relaxation, travel to festivals and competitions, performances at various events, communication with other teams – everything of these cases is world of dancing.
Our life is very interesting!

MAGIC OF MALTA
by Polyakova Anastasiya
M
alta is a Southern European island country comprising an archipelago of seven islands in the Mediterranean Sea. It lies 80 km south of Sicily, 284 km east of Tunisia, and 333 km north of Libya. The country covers just over 316 km2 making it one of the world’s smallest and most densely populated countries. The capital of Malta is Valletta, which is also, at 0.8 km2, the smallest capital in the European Union. Malta has two official languages: Maltese and English. Malta’s location has given it great strategic importance as a naval base throughout history. If Italy resembles on a map a woman’s boot, the geographical contours of the nearest neighbor of Malta presented in the form of fine trace of the shoe its many visitors and invaders. A few tiny islands since ancient times were a safe haven to travelers, merchants and immigrants, are sailing.

Even the famous pilgrim Odysseus for seven long years enjoyed the hospitality of the local nymph Calypso. By the way, translated from the ancient language of eternal wanderers Phoenicians, Malta has a shelter. The warm waters of the Mediterranean wash the Maltese archipelago on all sides. The territory takes a few rocky islands. Three of them are so densely populated that the country is the third highest population density in the world now, although its largest island is smaller than the area inside the Moscow Ring Road. The remaining islands are uninhabited, therefore attract travelers looking for an unusual adventure. And even with all their guests, taken together, the state still is the numerically small in the European Union. Blue Lagoon Maltese annually attracts millions of tourists from all over the world. Even couch potatoes Britons traditionally run away from their rain and fog on these sunny island.
Malta has a Subtropical–Mediterranean, with very mild winters and warm to hot summers. Rain occurs mainly in winter, with summer being generally dry. According to International Living, Malta is the country with the best climate in the world. Over the past seven thousand years chronicling the islands accumulated countless historical and cultural monuments from the legends of Atlantis in the region of the archipelago and knightly character of the mysterious Order of Malta, to the traces of Napoleon’s soldiers and British colonial era of Queen Victoria.
