CONCEPT Brief 5 - Film Night OUGD303 FMP
Collaboration with Chris Starkie. We wanted to put a film on every week for us and the rest of the course to come to and enjoy so they could relax and forget about work for an hour. With both having a love of film, we wanted to show a diverse range of films that covered many genres. For this we aimed to produce a poster a week to advert each weekly film and a running schedule for the forthcoming films. I would produce the supporting illustrations and Chris Starkie took charge of the layout.
The posters and the overall project was branded to give the content an attached name that acted as a collective design brand for these posters. To support the posters we wanted to produce more products to extend the brief and push the brand further by completing online presense and a film sign box.

PRODUCTS Brief 5 - Film Night OUGD303 FMP
The main products that were produced for this brief were the posters. Each poster was to have an illustration that was designed from a specific scene, character or memorial associations that the films carry. The layout that Chris Starkie was in charge of used a structured grid to give all the posters a unique look to tie them all together and recognizable as a set.

SUPPORTING IMAGERY Brief 5 - Film Night OUGD303 FMP
For the illustrations I would research each film, If I have seen it or not, to get a better understanding of what main features or characters appear during the film. The aim of the illustrations was not to give away anything about the storyline but give a quick glimps into what to expect from the film. I used a minimalist style as not to over complicate the imagery.

BRAND Brief 5 - Film Night OUGD303 FMP
To support the posters and give it an attached name, I created a brand that would be applied onto all of the posters. This brand was to bring together the whole project as one complete set. The name was to make it unique to the college and an easy line that represents watching cinema. The style of the logo and the typeface choice was to find a balance between the illustrative posters and the structured layout of the posters. The logo can be easily modified to fit different medias.

ONLINE PRESENSE Brief 5 - Film Night OUGD303 FMP
To give the posters more content and simply not only exist in the college, I created a whole online presense for the brand. I created a website to showcase all of the completed posters, a blog to share the posters with people to gain interest and a working shop so people can purchase the posters we create.

FILM SIGN Brief 5 - Film Night OUGD303 FMP
To go with the posters and create more buzz about the film night, we built a film sign. The film sign was built with wood and plastic acetate and would have printed letters to promote the film showing that week.
