Ultimate Superbowl Free Tailgate Party at the Enlisted Club Ballroom (784-6900)

Early Monday, 8 February, Midnight-0600 Get ready for the big game with the ULTIMATE SUPERBOWL TAILGATE PARTY! Party from 0001 until 0600 Monday morning. Watch highlights from NFC & AFC championship games. Interactive games, food, prizes and lots of fun! Event is FREE for Club Members, $15 for Non-members (includes entry into the Super Bowl Party).

The year’s biggest game will be played on the big screen and will include all of the commercials from home. The event will kick off with a Breakfast Buffet starting at 0730, and will also include a “Tailgate” lunch with burgers and hot dogs begining at Half-Time. This an event you don’t want to miss!

Tayvon is an eight year old, third grader here at School Age Care. His favorite room at SAC is S.T.E.M Room, because he can play the Wii U. When Tayvon grows up he wants to be a policeman, so he can “stop all the criminals’! Tayvon attends Power Hour every day to do his homework and sets a great example for peers to follow! Congratulations Tayvon!

Tessia Lucinda Romo-Youth of the Month Tessia is 9 years old and she’s in the 3rd grade at Osan American Elementary School. She’s been living in Korea for 2 years, and her favorite Korean food is Bulgogi. She loves coming to the Youth Center to play on the dance machine and dance in the dance room with her friends. She loves making new dance moves. Tessia loves the Photography Club in the youth center, she recently learned how to properly focus and change the modes on a DSLR camera. She really did enjoy taking pictures of her friends and autumn scenery. Tessia loves drawing dogs and puppies; her favorite color is purple because it’s not too light and not too dark she says. Tessia told us that her favorite thing to do in the world is eating pineapples. She was so excited to tell us that pineapple taste sweet and sour at the same time and it’s so yummy! Tessia loves math, because she says it’s very challenging and fun! She wants to be a 3rd grade math teacher when she grows up because she is in 3rd grade. We can’t wait to see you become the next math genius, “Go and crunch those numbers Tessia!!”!

Denny Declan-Teen of the Month Denny Declan is our Teen of the Month for January. Denny is in the 8 grade. His favorite hobby is shopping for new clothes. Denny has spent 1 year in Korea. His absolute favorite thing about Korea is the food. His favorite thing about the Teen Center is playing basketball in the gym and playing Wii with his friends. Winter Festivals in January Snow Festival at Mt. Taebaek 22-31 January

Enjoy unforgettable winter memories at the ‘Snow Festival at Mt. Taebaek’, which frolicing in the fantastic world of white snow at Taebaeksan Mountain! Danggol Square of Taebaeksan Provincial Park, the festival’s main venue will host a snow sculpture exhibition and a range of other winter-themed artwork from home and abroad for visitors to enjoy. The Hwacheon Sancheoneo (Mount Trout) Ice Festival will be taking place in Hwacheon in Gangwon-do. This virtually untouched region is known as the first area in Korea that freezes over in the winter and the river is covered with a thick layer of ice. Visitors can ice fish and those who are feeling brave can try to catch mountain trout with their bare hands. As well as fun activities, performances and an exhibition of ice sculptures that takes about 20 weeks to prepare. Visitors can sample raw and grilled mountain trout which are very delicious.

Pyeongchang Trout Festival

Inje Icefish Festival will be held at Soyangho Lake in Inje. At this spectacular winter festival visitors can experience ice fishing and exciting games such as human bowling on ice, ice soccer, and even a tug-of-war on ice. For the ice fishing fanatics there will be an ice fishing eating competition and visitors can sample the fish for free.

The Pyeongchang Trout Festival takes place during winter in the town of Jinbu-myeon in Pyeongchang-gun district. Visitors can enjoy a variety of programs including ice and lure fishing for trout, snow programs, ice programs, folk programs and more. There will also be traditional folk games including sledding and top spinning and visitors can try out sports such as riding 4-wheel ATVs, snow rafting, sleigh trains. Any trout caught from ice fishing and lure fishing can be prepared in a traditional Korean style a nearby restaurant.
