Give Parents A Break/Parents’ Night Out (GPAB/PNO) Friday, 16 October, 1830-2230 Ages: infant -12 years old Reservations for care are required and are based on a “space available” basis, which is contingent on staffing. The standard fee of $16.00/child is charged to help offset NAF labor costs for the evening. Parents must meet program registration requirements. The next GPAB/PNO will be January 15th.

Child & Youth Programs are here to provide safe, caring and enriching environments for our children and youth. To keep the Osan Community up-to-date on CYP items, here is information regarding Family Child Care. Family housing towers here at Osan do not allow for the Child & Youth Programs to operate a Family Child Care (FCC) program. This is due to a safety issue. In the event of a fire, the elevators cannot be used and it would be dangerous for one adult to evacuate up to six children typically under 5 years old. AFI 34-276, Family Child Care Programs, 1 NOV 1999, states, ‘Any individuals caring for other families’ children a total of more than 10 hours a week on a regular basis must be licensed to provide care in on-base quarters.’ However individuals MAY provide baby-sitting on an occasional basis for other families or friends, teenagers may baby-sit for families during evening/weekends or child care may be provided in the parents’ own home. Temporary full-time care of a child during a parent’s absence for temporary duty or deployment by the person listed on the AF Form 357, Family Care Plan would be allowed. Violation of this regulation may revoke the housing privileges of individuals who provide child care.

Youth of the Month Benjamin Bada Duvall Benjamin Bada Duvall is our October Youth of the Month. Benjamin turns 11 on October 6th. Happy Birthday Benjamin! He is in the 5th grade. He loves spaghetti and coming to the Youth Center to play basketball and play Trials on the XBox console. His favorite basketball player is LeBron James. His favorite time of day is when he gets to build something with Lego parts or a toy car engine. When he grows up Benjamin wants to be an engineer so he can enlighten the world with his inventions just like Thomas Edison did. Can’t wait for your invention Benjamin!!

Teen of the Month Nickaylah Justive Sampson Nickaylah Justive Sampson is our Teen of the Month for October. Nickaylah is 13 years old and in the 8th grade at Osan Middle School. She has been living in Korea for three months. She loves coming to the Youth Center to move and groove on the Dance Revolution Machine. When it comes to school her favorite time of day is language arts class. She says her role model is her father because he is a successful military service member. She wants to join the Navy when she grows up and become a successful military service member just like her dad. Nickaylah’s hobbies are singing, dancing and reading. Nickaylah wants to be an author and write a book like her favorite one “Halo” by Alexandra Adornetto . Can’t wait to read your book Nickaylah!!!

Want a fantastic networking opportunity that can introduce you to people across the military? Would you like to coach your own team in an upcoming season? We have you covered! This version of Fantasy Football will be a weekly event, meaning players draft teams who score point according to set rules. With this league being weekly you’re allowed to pick new players weekly or stay with your original team the entire season. Owners designate which players start each week; those are the only players that can score you points. This is the lineup format: 1 Quarterback (QB)/2 Running Backs (RB)/2 Wide Receivers (WR)/ 1 Flex RB/WR/TEs (RB/WR/TE)/1 Tight End (TE)/1 Placekicker (K)/ 1 Team Defense/Special Teams (D/ST) If there’s a tie whoever picks the combine score from the Thursday Night game closest without going over will be the winner. Only (1) draft sheet per person, you can pick them up and drop them off at the Community Center. Weekly winners to be announced at E-Club’s Football Frenzy every Tuesday night. Transition GPS Workshop

Monday-Friday, 5-9 October, 0830-1630 Mustang Resiliency Center, Bldg. 1313 This mandatory workshop is open to all branches of service as it prepares retiring or separating military members and their families for the transition from military service to a civilian career. This workshop covers Military Occupation Codes (MOC) Crosswalk, personal finances, job searches, resume writing and Veteransâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; Affairs (VA) benefits including health and education, benefits, home loans and much more. Dress is civilian business casual.

This is a mandatory briefing for retiring or separating military personnel (NLT 90 days prior to DOS/DOR) and their spouses, to introduce the benefits and services which are available to veterans. This is the prerequisite for attending Transition Goals, Plans and Success (GPS).

Thursday-Friday, 15-16 October, 0830-1630 The Technical Training Track addresses topics such as: selection of a reputable career and technical training school, the application process from start to finish, how to use certification finder web tools and other Internet resources that identify licensed occupations and a military occupational code translator.

This course is designed for separating or retiring military members and their spouses as a guide for the variety of decisions involved in choosing a degree completion program, college institution and funding, as well as completing the admissions process. The expected outcome is a customized plan for a successful transition to a higher education institution.

There are two sets of numbers in Korea, the native Korean and the Sino-Korean Numbers. Sino-Korean numbers are borrowed from Chinese. Generally speaking, for expression involving dates, money, foreign loanwords, minutes, seconds and counting beyond 99 Sino-Korean numbers are used otherwise its the native Korean numbers. You might be wondering why some numbers are skipped in both numeral systems, this is because there are certain patterns to achieve the numbers in between.
