• The mast head is a gold font which is serif. Its slightly in italics and is a different darker colour for monsters. • The font is a gold font because it connotes wealth and power, this is relevant because the film itself is set in the Roman/Greek era and that font is very stereotypically associated. • The change of colour between the two makes it stand out differently on the background, its also a different colour because it symbolises the difference between gods and monsters. • The text curves around the masthead this symbolises that the mast head is much more important the text, this is probably because they want to advertise the product, and that it’s the articles title so if you were flicking through the pages to find a specific page you would see that first.

The image is the protagonist/hero holding a bag which appears to be something fleshy, he is dressed in a Greek looking armour. The other image is of a creature and the hero/pro. The main image is the subject of the whole article, so the image is big and obvious so you can take in every detail of it. The image connotes that there is a hero because they are standing tall and brave in a very stereotypical manner. The fleshy thing makes us as an audience wonder what is inside the bag thus this would probably make us go see the film to find out, it also makes us wonder how this person got in the situation and what is going to happen. The other image is still an important image because it is still a good size in relation to the whole 2 pages, it also gives us an hint into what happens in the film. The image seems quite foreign because there is a creature we stereotypically associate with evil working seemingly with the hero this as a reader surprises us and makes us want to read the article to find out. The pose they are standing in is very obvious making it look almost staged but this is quite stereotypical for movie shots, this EMPIRE showing of there fame and fortune, EMPIRE usually likes to show off when it comes to double page spreads they will get exclusive photos and interviews this image fits in with EMPIREs ideology.
Article • The article has a brief summary, and then proceeds to talk about the movie. • The brief summary is there to be convenient so that is someone was searching for this article they could find it easier, it also is there to grab your attention so you read the rest of the article but its also doesn’t include any information that wouldn’t ruin the article. • There is a clear house style used here a gold sans serif font, with a serif grey font, it is used thought the page, it contrasts very well with each other as well as the background. • The background although not part of the article doesn’t distract from the article because it is strategically placed away from the article. • There seems to be a white tint to the back round where the article is this is probably to make it stand out more.
