Representation To give a brief summary of my average audience would say they are Male or Female, 16+, they dress well although not necessarily following the trends they like to be individual and dress the way they want and not how others want them to dress, they have a undying passion for all things performance and drama although they love the theatre they are very open to other forms of the arts and are willing to try other arts. They are either extremely professional and are always looking out for the new audition opportunity or the opposite and like to use it as a release and a hobby rather than trying to live off it, regardless they are always looking for a way of breaking convention and being different. They are also always looking for ways to better themselves. My magazine is aimed at people like myself that way I could understand what the audience wanted because I was the audience, for example I like to break convention so through the magazine, for example the double page spread doesn’t include a direct mode of address which is usually seen in a DPS. Through my magazine there are lots of pictures of men but there are also pictures of women I don’t feel like there is a gender bias in my magazine in my magazine because of this I just feel the feature article was based on a MALE actor and that if I did the whole magazine there would be easily equal. I also tried to make sure there was not the stereotypical bias that you see in the theatre, the stereotype is the more feminine, female driven theatre, that’s why I included a man as the main image and the main article and tried not to put him a “camp” pose or talk femininely, but having said this I also kept a few stereotypes in there because after all stereotypes are true the interviewer and interviewee are very confident and eccentric and use words such as “darling” and “fabulous” that you expect to hear. I didn’t want to represent and treat my audience like children I wanted to make the magazine mature and serious as well as relaxed, at 16 you want to be treated like adult. That’s why the speech in it was much more sophisticated than children’s magazine. In my magazine the actors are often portrayed to be a bit odd or in character maybe sometimes a little bit like they are acting all the time, feel they are

presented as individuals, they are always shown on stage and never not on stage as characters as actors they are shown off of stage and being focused on their real life. The acting and passion speaks for itself.
