SCREAM MAGAZINE ANALYSIS The layout of SCREAM magazine is very conventional and follows most of magazines conventions; The mast head “SCREAM” is located directly below the top of the magazine, following the rule of thirds there is also a selling line just bellow “Blood Guts, Gore & More! . The Mast head of SCREAM is very iconic and symbolic of the horror genre this is reflected by the blood dripping from the typography and the red fill which often symbolizes danger and injury. The typography for every SCREAM magazine is the same but it always has a different theme much like how EMPIRE or SHOCK HORROR does its very conventional but it is a very interesting way of keeping the audience interested in the product and it also makes the magazine topical due to the appropriate title style. The selling line is “Blood,Guts,Gore & More” it’s a very memorable selling line due to its rhyme length and alliteration you could easily remember the magazine by the selling line, if you didn’t know what the magazine was about it easily sums it up here therefore letting the reader know what genre the magazine is about without opening the magazine this is essential in shops. The house style of the magazine is red, yellow and white, this house style is often the same colour scheme in many horror movie posters, and the colours also contrast with each other leaving each word and image easily distinct. The house style also matches the image which makes it aesthetically pleasing. The
