Introduction Dear Sykrunner Friend, While everyone thought that 2021 would be the year of normality, we have to admit that we have to keep adapting. For the 2021 edition, while we are continuing discussions with the cantonal authorities in order to offer you the best possible experience, they are imposing a certain number of sanitary measures to be respected. In particular, a Covid 19 certificate (details on page 4) must be presented to gain access to the race site. But we are convinced that, like us, you chose to run in 2021 and that these basic health measures will not stop you. Furthermore, we have kept several measures introduced in 2020 such as wave starts, the ACTIVE race on Sundays, etc. We look forward to seeing you in Zermatt! The Ultraks Team PS: If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send us an email (info@ultraks.com).

The COVID-19 Certificate Given the size of the event, at the request of the health authorities, we will carry out systematic COVID-19 certificate checks to enter the "Espace Ultraks" area, where the start/finish area, the stands and the distribution of bibs are located.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What is the COVID-19 certificate? For complete information, please consult the official website of the Swiss authorities. In a few words, the COVID-19 Certificate is the proof that you belong to at least one of the following categories: •
Be vaccinated against COVID-19 ;
•
OR to be cured of the disease (test-confirmed coronavirus infection not older than six months);
•
OR have a negative PCR test result (valid for 72 hours)
•
OR have a negative result of the rapid antigenic test (valid for 48 hours)
Note that a self-test is not considered valid.
Who is it for? •
All runners aged 16 and over.
•
Spectators aged 16 and over wishing to access the Ultraks Area (see map page 25)
NOTE: Spectators outside the Ultraks Area are not concerned.
What about foreign certificates? •
European certificates are recognised.
•
However, we cannot guarantee the recognition of nonEuropean ones.
CONTROL - MODUS OPERANDI The check is carried out at the points of entry to the Ultraks area. It consists of a scan of the COVID-19 certificate crossed with the identity document. We will hand out wristbands indicating until which day of the event the test is valid (either Friday, Saturday or Sunday).
ON-SITE TESTS In Zermatt, tests are only carried out in doctors' practices and not in pharmacies. There are only four doctors' practices in Zermatt. IT IS THEREFORE OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE TO ARRIVE IN ZERMATT TESTED OR YOU MAY NOT FIND ANY TESTING CAPACITY. We are working with the doctors to improve the situation, but we cannot be held responsible for the lack of testing capacity in Zermatt. We will keep you informed in the coming days / hours, but again, we recommend that you get tested BEFORE you arrive in Zermatt. Larger capacities exist in Visp, Brig, Sierre, or even Sion or Martigny. (see official website) Please note that most of these test centres require an appointment.

Onther measures implemented in Zermatt BIB NUMBER DISTRIBUTION TIMES We have set up precise schedules for the distribution of bib numbers per race so as not to create unnecessary gatherings. (see page 17)
AID STATIONS Aid stations will be maintained but supply will be reduced. We strongly encourage you to maximize your autonomy. As a reminder, it is possible to have a personal assistance as long as it is near the official aid station. A behavioural protocol will be established for aid stations. •
Each runner wishing to use the aid station must first wash their hands with a hydro-alcoholic solution (HAS) provided.
•
Refreshments will be served in an individual tray by the staff.
•
At the exit the trays will be thrown away and another HAS dispenser will be at the disposal of the runners.
It is everyone's responsibility to maintain the distances and comply with the barrier gestures.
FINISH AID STATION AND MEAL
Fountains will also be installed at various points in the arrival area to allow you to drink water at will. There will be no more gathering place under the tent. We ask you to spread out as much as possible on or outside the area to eat your meal and to respect the usual distances.
MEDAL The souvenir medal for those who asked for will be distributed together with the bib number.
T-SHIRT FINISHER The finisher's t-shirt will be handed out at the exit of the race area with the meal. The size will correspond to the size given at registration. There will be no fitting or exchange.
CHANGING ROOMS – SHOWERS MASSAGES Unfortunately, no changing rooms, showers or massages are available this year.
PRIZE GIVING The awards will be given to the first three men and women in the overall classification of each race.
Arrival aid station is abandoned.
These people will be rewarded with prizes donated by SCOTT.
Once you cross the finish line, you will be directed to one of the two exits.
We will also reward the first woman and the first man of the age groups of each race with prizes offered by Jean-René Germanier wines.
At this point you will receive a "Lunch Bag" consisting of: • • • • PAGE 6
A veggie wrap A fruit A cake A drink
These people will be called to the stage but will not stay there so as not to have too large a grouping of people. For the ACTIVE and VERTICAL races, we will also celebrate the Junior podiums with Compressport prizes.
© MATTERHORH ULTRAKS – 2021
MISCELLANEOUS Staff Staff will also have their Covid19 certificate validated, which exempts them from wearing masks, however, masks and gloves will be worn where necessary and appropriate.
Reminders You will be frequently reminded to follow the rules.

Specific Information « EXTREME » A REFERENCE PATH Launched in 2019, the « EXTREME » course was an exceptional success and instantly became a Skyrunning's benchmark. As every year, the best skyrunners in the world come to Zermatt. To name but a few: Daniel Antonioli, William Bofelli, Johana Aström, the El Kott sisters, etc.Chamonix, Hillary Gerardi, second last year.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
« B COURSE » At high altitude, weather is a key player. And runners’ safety is our first and foremost priority. We therefore had to prepare for the eventuality where AirZermatt Helicopters cannot fly and so ensure rescue in certain areas of the course. (Unter Gabelhorn, Rothornhütte snd Platthorn) In such situation, we would change the course as follows, ensuring notheless a 22 km and 2,200m elevation race :
To register, each runner had to show credentials to make sure they can be independent in high altitude, in mountain terrain and in adverse conditions.

You must send your request by email to support@msochrono.ch specifying the race you are registered for, the race you wish to participate in and your estimated running time for this new race. As specified in the regulations, switching to a shorter race does not entitle you to any financial compensation. On the other hand, switching to a longer race implies payment of the difference between the price paid and the current price of the new race. .
The request must come from the person who is already registered. This is possible until Friday, August 14 at midnight. For the « EXTREME », the person must answer the questionnaire and be accepted. The time required to evaluate the file must be taken into account. I know I will not be able to participate. What should I do? Please inform us by email via cancellation@ultraks.com Can I make changes to my site registration? This year, no on-site modifications can be made.
