The project surrounds by the utopian discussion of how landscape and built environment in the future can provide an environmentally harmonious world for the human and nature under the circumstance that the relationship in between human being and nature is extremely sensitive nowadays because of climate change. The site of the project specifically has been chosen at Zermatt where is confronting climate change and the critical sustainable environment under mass tourism. based on the concept of board game I created, I argue the priority of new development at Zermatt should primary respond to the changing environment at the Alps, and it can be identified the changing vegetation pattern at the Alps. Thus, I propose a greenhouse landscape that can conserve the local woods and authentic rare flora.
Based on the scientific research, the vegetation could be replaced by tropical plants or the species that can grow in the higher temperature environment., thus, it can be argued that the green house will stand as an ecological museum containing disappeared authentic landscape and climate of Zermatt.The project provides key essential programmes for botanic project and focuses on the intimacy in between the conserved alpine plants and visitors. The composition and curation of each cultivation beds are aiming to provide a world that people can immerse and surrounded by the delicacy of alpine rarities. The greenhouse serves as an architectural scale capsule containing authentic alpine climate and allows the delicacy of alpine plants to colonise over the tourist area of Zermatt and become a crystal city that replace the existing resort landscape.

The greenhouses of Alpine Botanic City contain the authentic alpine climate by using adaptive opening, calculation of solstice exposure and humidity control system. ive prototypes of cultivation beds for alpine rarities have been laid out in the communal-plan style greenhouses which are sited along with the slope the alpine hill. Slopes and walkways have been composed with cultivation beds and allow visitors meander around botanic world ďŹ lled with exclusive delicacy of alpine plants. n the greenhouse, original mountain terrain also has been conserved partially when siting the green house structure on alpine hill. The mountain terrain provides authentic displaying beds for alpine woods, such as stone pine, larch woods. The mini indoor forests take part in the biological cycle of the micro climate in the alpine greenhouse.

The overall greenhouse landscape aims to generate authentic alpine climate by providing passive sustainable energy cycle. The sustainable environment focuses on ventilation, sunlight exposure and nutrition supply. n terms of ventilation, warm air would enter the foundation level which is a concrete ma e allowing air cool down before release into greenhouse. The adaptable opening of roof becomes porous surfaces to capture cool air from natural wind and indoor heat generated by users would be li ed by sunken cool air. n order to provide full sunlight exposure, roof structure is crystal slab hybridised with steel fibre and cladded with full reflective material to lighten the space that against the natural light. Each cultivation bed is supported by amenities for water treatment and e uipped with fertilisers to balance the soil conditions of each cultivation area. These facilities are camouflaged in the small cabins represent vernacular architectural identity of Swit erland, which demonstrate the significance of cultural identity in swiss landscape configuration apart from climatic regeneration of the project.
