Region VIII
Campbell Pegues is on fire making it to state as a freshman she has been to state 3 times and this will be her fourth but this year will be just a bit different she states “ Not only is the location different, but the competition will be harder too.” She definitely works hard to make it in Poles, breakaway, goat tying, light rifle and Trap shooting. Not only is she making sure her horse is ready to go to state but as well as herself she works on mental health and she makes sure she is 100% focused to compete. Pegues says “If I am prepared mentally for the competition, I know my abilities will be too.” If you are trying to make it to state, always have dedication year round, surround yourself with people who believe that you can do it. Knowing to have a great run is definitely a mental key factor, always relying on training and visualization. Never worry about the fastest time or who’s winning, you know what you have to and get it done. A wonderful season would have never been possible without my family who is out in the arena with me everyday. They definitely play a huge part in my success, Dave Jolin for horsemanship, Townsend for consent support “also I belong to the best rodeo region in texas. Region 8 is the best!”Gracie

All of region 8 cowgirls and cowboys strive and push each other to work harder and harder. Making it to state is such a great achievement and we can’t wait to see what other regions bring to the arena dirt. We have fun making friends and gather a lot of memories. Congratulations we will see you in Abilene very soon (day of state).
