They were the Hunter’s ‘accidental vignerons.’ A Sydney couple who made a spur-of-the-moment decision to buy a block of land in the Hunter Valley and produce wine. This months cover story is one we can certainly relate to, as we did precisely the same thing almost 15 years ago - packing up our family and moving to Wine Country to start a local business. Like the Degans, what began as a dream soon became a reality (and a load of hard work), but we’re so pleased to have escaped the city life, and you couldn’t find a more beautiful area to call home than the Hunter.
