Please summarise why house buyers and developers should choose Transform Landscapes for their project? With a range of staff, we can support new house buyers with all elements of their garden. When a house is purchased, the buyers often only visit a few times often within a single season. We can help our clients understand what is in their garden and how they could use or improve the space. It might start with simply helping to manage the area;mowing, cutting back, trimming hedges. Alternatively, the space may not work for the new owners, and they may require a full garden design and build. Whatever the situation, we can help.

For developers and those extending or re-developing the house there are many ways that a good landscaper can help complement building work. Our approach to hard landscape construction, is different to that of a builder. We are garden creators. We will look for ways to bring interest, structure, and shape to a garden, using plants and softer structures which often helps to keep costs lower than using only hard features. Where a builder or architect may suggest retaining walls, a structure they know and understand, we will look to use soil banks and planting to hide level changes and create interest. We understand the elements, soil, and outdoor drainage, in a way that builders may not have had the chance to learn. This allows our projects to withstand the weather and allow the user to enjoy their space all through the year.

Valentin and Rosen’s legacy extended beyond business; it was a philosophy. They proved that success lies in customer smiles as they wove happiness into every venture. Their story is a reminder that in the world of numbers, a personal touch makes all the difference.
Success story In a brisk spring evening of 2022, a phone call altered our course. A customer, turned down by three electrical companies for an overhead power cable upgrade, reached out in despair. Against the odds, we stepped up.
Gratitude emanated as the hum of new power cables filled the air. What was once desperation had transformed into loyalty. This customer, now one of our most valued, not only experienced revival in their business but also spread our name fervently.

A little bit of history
“A big WELCOME and enjoy”
Liphook and the road from London to Portsmouth have many historic associations. Samuel Pepys records in his diary that having lost his way in the forest on his journey to Portsmouth to inspect the naval vessels, he arrived at the inn at Liphook where he found there were ‘good honest people’. The poet Lord Tennyson had his last home at Blackdown, just over the Sussex border, and he frequently walked across to Bramshott, the unspoilt beauty of which is immortalised in some of his verses.
The development of Liphook coincided with the London to Portsmouth coach service which started in 1688 and the popularity of The Blue Anchor coaching inn, which still stands in The Square today as The Royal Anchor public house, along with other 17th century buildings including the Hamptons office. The advent of the railway at Liphook in 1859 encouraged further development in the area and as a result we have some fine examples of Victorian and Edwardian properties in and around the village. The famous country house architect and garden designer Henry Inigo Triggs lived in Liphook from 1910 and his influence can be seen in its Arts & Crafts style houses. More recently in the 1960s and 70s, E & L Berg built a development styled in an American open plan layout which featured at the Ideal Home Exhibition at the time.
Why move to Liphook?
The surrounding area is renowned for its beautiful scenery of rich, varied woodlands and colourful heaths, rising to nearly 700 feet above sea level at Bramshott. The village is situated on the edge of the recently formed South Downs National Park and the River Wey flows through the Parish. Much of the extensive countryside nearby is
under the ownership of the National Trust, who maintain it for public use. Liphook has grown in popularity in recent years due to its excellent choice schooling and transport links to London and the South Coast by both rail and road.
Liphook itself benefits from a good range of local shops, including a
Sainsbury’s supermarket and a Co-Op with post office. There is a library, doctor and dentist surgeries, and a veterinary clinic. Recreational facilities include two golf courses, various sports clubs and Champneys health spa. More comprehensive facilities can be found about 8 miles distant in the market town of Petersfield.
Ideal living
Liphook has an excellent Italian restaurant, two coffee shops and a variety of rustic local pubs serving hearty comfort food, including the renowned Deers Hut and The Links Tavern. The Millennium Centre houses the Heritage Centre and hosts local events and cinema screenings throughout the year.
Within the village is Radford Park, offering circular routes for walkers, wildlife ponds, managed woodland and water meadows, as well as a recreation ground with children’s play equipment. The village is surrounded by good walking and riding countryside, such as Ludshott Common, over 700 acres of heath and common land, Waggoners Wells, a set of three ponds in a wooded valley, and the Devils’ Punch Bowl at Hindhead, all sites maintained by the National Trust.
Liphook is served by Bohunt Secondary School and Sixth Form, and excellent state infant and junior schools. Independent schools in the village include
Churcher’s College Junior School and Highfield & Brookham Schools, with Bedales and Churcher’s College further afield in Petersfield, and St. Edmund’s and Amesbury Schools in Hindhead.
Liphook benefits from a station on the Portsmouth/Waterloo main line with a journey time to London of just over an hour and Haslemere station, under 5 miles away, provides express trains to Waterloo in around 45 minutes. www.hamptons.co.uk
Interview with ‘Transform Landsapes’
Tell us a little about the back story of ’Transform Landscapes’
Transform began life as a sole trade business formed by Simon Gray in the 1980s, becoming Ltd in 2001. The business is now run by a team of five directors, with Ben Clutterbuck as MD. Simon is still heavily involved in the business, leading on many landscaping matters with his wealth of experience. Currently, we have over 30 employees, with a client base spread throughout Surrey, Hampshire, and West Sussex. We are a completed garden service, covering design, build, and maintenance. We also have a fully qualified Arboriculture team, who offer services to private clients, as well as local councils. Our quality of work and excellent service are key corner stones to our business. We hold several industry recognised accreditations/ approved contractors’ statuses including BALI (The British Association of Landscape Industries), APL (Association of Professional Landscapers) and the Arboricultural Association. We are also recognised by TrustMark and Safe Contractor.
Do you find most clients have a clear image of what they want to achieve in their outside space or do they sometimes look to you for inspiration?
It is a mixed bag. Some clients have a clear image of what they want to achieve, whilst others rely on our knowledge and experience to provide an approach and way forward. Our in-house team offers both traditional hand drawn designs or modern Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings and 3D modelling, which we find helps clients visualise the finished garden and feel more involved in the process. Our Design team and Project Manager work with the client throughout the project to ensure the brief is adhered to, and a beautiful garden is created. Equally, we have worked with clients who have a general idea but no detailed plan, so we use our experience, expertise, and knowledge to shape and install a finished landscape that is complementary to the location and fulfils the client’s budget and brief.
Tell us about a project you’re particularly proud of?
It is hard to highlight just one as we have had the privilege to be involved with many amazing projects, that each stands out for different reasons. Our Surrey Hill top garden, which was APL best in category 2022, or an infinity edged swimming pool built out of a slope in the garden, which has been shortlisted for two 2024 APL awards.
What are the most popular types of projects you are asked to undertake at the moment?
We become involved in a huge range of projects, which is amazing. Our forte is complete garden build projects and, working with either our own designers or in collaboration with an independent Garden Designer or Landscape Architect, we can completely remodel a garden. These projects are extremely rewarding for us, not only as a business in using all our disciplines, but also for our workforce and, most importantly, our clients. We also manage smaller projects that address single elements in a garden such as fencing, terracing, lawns, or creating a planting area/improve planted borders. These are quick turnaround jobs, being great ‘little wins’ for us, and our clients really appreciate the transformative results.

Interview with ‘Topline Roofing’
Tell us a little about the background of your firm?
TopLine Roofing and property maintainance has been up and running for over 10 years and has become a successful trustworthy buisness that has done lots of work for local residents across Surrey,Hampshire and West Sussex.
When considering a home renovation where would you place roof in terms of priority? When considering a home renovation we would place roofing as a high priority as it is the shell of the property. Without a secure, watertight roof the internal work would not be able to be completed and be kept to a good condition.
Do you welcome customers to asking your advice on different types of materials available on the market?
We are more than happy to discuss advice and options of different materials on the market with our customers to determine what would best suit their roofing needs.
From a roofers point of view, is the most important message you would like to get across to people when considering a property purchase?
From a roofers point of view the most important message to get across to anyone cosidering a property purchase is to take into account the surveyor before you commit. The roof is at the top of the house so therefore should be one of the top priorities to check before you complete the purchase.
What aspect of your job do you most enjoy? We enjoy completing a job that has been discussed throughly before, during and after the process of any roofing and property maintainance service with our customers.
Interview with ‘Lil Electrical’
Story of our company
In 2015, Valentin and Rosen united to build something extraordinary: a company rooted in client satisfaction and exceptional quality. With a pledge to meticulously address every detail, they transformed projects into perfection.
Their goal was to not only meet, but exceed expectations. Their projects weren’t just tasks, but opportunities to create remarkable outcomes that left clients genuinely content. The result? Over 95% of clients returned, a testament to the trust they earned.
Valentin and Rosen’s legacy extended beyond business; it was a philosophy. They proved that success lies in customer smiles as they wove happiness into every venture. Their story is a reminder that in the world of numbers, a personal touch makes all the difference.
Success story
In a brisk spring evening of 2022, a phone call altered our course. A customer, turned down by three electrical companies for an overhead power cable upgrade, reached out in despair. Against the odds, we stepped up.
A meeting ensued, plans solidified, and the project unfolded seamlessly, adhering to deadlines. The once skeptical customer now witnessed their business, a park of 120 mobile homes, rejuvenated by our efforts.
Gratitude emanated as the hum of new power cables filled the air. What was once desperation had transformed into loyalty. This customer, now one of our most valued, not only experienced revival in their business but also spread our name fervently.
In the end, a seemingly routine job became a turning point. In the span of a spring evening, hope was rekindled, a business was saved, and an unbreakable alliance was formed.

Planning & Building Control
Unsure which services you need?
If you are thinking of making changes to your property, you may need to apply for planning permission and / or Building Regulations approval. If you’re not sure which applications to make, please use the guidance below to help you to decide what you need to do.
Please note that many developments will require both.
What is planning?
Planning is the process of deciding whether a proposed development should go ahead or not. It uses national and local policies to consider the development in its context and may look at the impact of the work on neighbours and the wider community, existing architecture, the land, the layout, and existing or proposed infrastructure (such as drains, transport and schools).
You will probably need planning permission if your proposed development will do any of the following:
• create a new building, or change the use or appearance of an existing building
• affect the sunlight, privacy or outlook for neighbouring properties
• affect the nearby area with noise disturbance, smell or fumes
• work on or around listed buildings or any conservation areas
• affect traffic volumes, road safety or access
• change the density of development in an area
• use significantly different materials or finishes from nearby properties
• have an effect on existing trees
www.easthants.gov.uk/planning-services
What is building control?
Building control applies national statutory regulations to ensure the structural quality of any building work, in areas such as safety, public health, accessibility, and the materials used. Most substantial building projects (such as an extension, knocking down walls or converting a garage or loft) will need Building Regulations approval.
