Durante el mandato del presidente Alejandro Giammattei, se han realizado varias acciones para disminuir el narcotráfico en el país, que van desde el despliegue de las fuerzas armadas hasta la implementación de tecnología. Entre los resultados se destaca que, durante el 2021, se contabilizaron 108 días sin que una aeronave ilegal aterrizara en suelo guatemalteco. “Junto con el Ejército de Guatemala se han dedicado grandes recursos para combatirlos”, aseguró el mandatario en el
programa En Consulta con el Dr. Giammattei. Asimismo, el jefe de Estado explicó que se han unido las diferentes fuerzas del país para evitar el aterrizaje, capturar e incautar los cargamentos ilícitos. Durante 2022 se ha incautado alrededor de un mil millones de quetzales en sustancias ilícitas.“Seguimos sin descansar, para librar a Guatemala del tráfico de drogas”, concluyó el Presidente.
A Safer country During President Alejandro Giammattei’s term in office, several actions have been taken to reduce drug trafficking, ranging from using the armed forces to implementing technology. Among the results that Giammattei highlights are that in 2021 there were 108 days without an illegal aircraft landing on Guatemalan soil. “With the Guatemalan Army we have used considerable resources to fight them,” said the President in the program En Consulta con el Dr.

The President also explained that “we have dispatched people from the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the National Civil Police to prevent the landing, capture and seize illicit shipments.” So far in 2022, we have located eight airstrips that have been disabled and six aircraft and seized approximately one billion Quetzals in illicit substances. “We continue to free Guatemala from drug trafficking without rest,” concluded the President.

Marisol Vásquez DCA Mundo Próximamente, habrá un nuevo museo en Guatemala. Se trata del Museo Caracol del Tiempo, ubicado en el Parque Arqueológico Nacional Tak’alik Ab’aj, en El Asintal, Retalhuleu. Este proyecto fue retomado por el Ministerio de Cultura y Deportes, y será donde se resguardarán piezas y objetos históricos precolombinos localizados en el área. Patrimonio de la Humanidad La consolidación del museo contribuye a los esfuerzos para que Tak’alik Ab’aj sea declarado Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura (Unesco, por sus siglas en inglés).

Recorrido histórico Contará con un recorrido por cada período histórico, a través de un guion museológico basado en la proporción áurea. En el museo se mostrarán las maravillas de la ciudad prehispánica, que fue puente entre la cultura olmeca y que presenció el nacimiento de la cultura maya.
