Join the Victorian Alpaca Youth for a fun-filled stud service auction of two exceptional males, generously donated by Ambleside Suri Alpacas and Jigaru Alpacas.
The Victorian Alpaca Youth Group’s mission is to provide a fun and hands-on learning experience for young people interested in the alpaca industry. VAYG encourages responsible alpaca ownership and, through our training days and parader competitions, helps young people to develop life skills by building their confidence with animals and people alike. The parader competition is designed with several objectives in mind: • To offer to inexperienced youths the opportunity to compete in an alpaca-related event • To offer to experienced youths the opportunity to showcase their expertise and knowledge in handling alpacas in a public arena • To engage the uninformed public in a way which will both entertain and educate them about the Australian alpaca industry • To provide a conduit for young people to enter and then progress within the industry, providing for succession in both the leadership and heritage of the Australian alpaca industry. Specifically, it is not an obstacle course for performing pets; it is a competition designed to demonstrate the bond which may be developed between alpacas and their empathetic handlers, and the skills required for their stress free and successful management.
