ne colour you are sure to find in every fashionista’s wardrobe is black. It doesn’t go wrong when nicely matched. Black is known to give a slimmer figure, and it can be brightened with other colours and worn to any occasion, depending on the combination. One other attribute associated with the colour is its ability to shield the body from cold. Black symbolises power and authority; hence, adding a little bit of colour pop could make for a head-swerving attire. Don’t look drappy in an all black outfit, give it a boost with a pop of colour.

Educational background I attended the School of Health Technology, Akure, where I qualified as a nurse, after which I went to the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Lagos. Career I was into the business of importation, but right now, my main drive is the NAOWA. The association is my priority because it is a charity project for the less privileged in our barracks. Presently, I am trying to build a school for the children of the less privilege because every child deserves to be educated. Although this gesture has been there for quite a long time, when I came in, the condition of the school was not suitable for any child, so I decided to build another one. Growing up My parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ohize, hail from Isuku Local Government Area of Delta State. I am the first child of the family eight children. HELEN EDOHE OYEBODE // Childhood memories I played a lot and I loved people around me. Role model My role model is God because I look up to him for inspirations. Secondly, my parents taught me most of the things I never knew in life. They taught me how to carry people along and how to show love. My husband and I We were sweethearts in secondary school; our schools were beside each other. Mine was Awori College, Ojo, Lagos, while his was Government College. The rest, they say, is history. Being a wife of a GOC I never knew I would be the wife of a GOC, but to God be the glory; it just happened like that. I am not different from any other woman, but it is important to lend a helping hand when God gives you the opportunity to do so. Life as a soldier’s wife Life as a soldier’s wife is okay. Everything depends on determination and what you want in life and how you want it. You have to prepare for it. It was not easy, but to God be the glory, we are pushing and looking forward for greater things to come. A woman who wishes to marry a soldier must be patient. The woman is the owner of the home; it depends on how she handles it. A woman should always know what she wants and go for it. Husband’s support to chosen career He is very supportive and loving. In fact, he is a man I would want to remarry even if I die and come back to the world again. His most cherished attribute His love and attention Advice to women in the society Every woman should find one thing or another to engage in. Idleness breeds gossip, envy and jealousy, which have broken many homes Life Achievements I have achieved a lot. When I was in Ikeja, Lagos, I built a school when my husband was a brigade commander. And I am doing the same here in Kaduna. TAMBARI SUNDAY, J U N E 26, 2016

en’s style is described as being simple because most of their outfits and accessories are done with simple designs. Among the few accessories that men adorn themselves with are bracelets. Men’s bracelets are made with ornaments like silver and gold. They can also be seen in different colours. However, one point to note about men’s bracelets is their unique and few designs. These bracelets might be simple, but they can make a man’s wrist stand out, adding a unique touch to their outfits.

MUST CERCLAGE BE DONE ONLY AFTER FIRST TRIMESTER? Must we wait till after first trimester before cerclage is done? My wife has had three miscarriages the last one was at thirteen weeks, does it help in someone who has been having recurrent miscarriages? Yes, the right time to have cervical cerclage is after the first trimester that is after thirteen weeks. Usually done between fourteen and sixteen weeks. This is to exclude miscarriages caused by chromosomal abnormalities which

occurs within the first trimester. But as we know there is no rule without exception, in cases where the last miscarriage occurred before fourteen weeks and is attributable to cervical incompetence then cerclage can be done

IRREGULAR SPOTTING My wife has been spotting a week before her normal period flow for few months now, the present one started after her ovulation the following week spotting of blood commence on and off till date, we both did urine m/c/s and vigina swab which mine indicate no growth while her urine m/c/s Indicated ecoli and she is on antibiotic now, the point is we are really looking up to God for our second baby after the first child 5 years ago, please what could be the reasons and what do we do? from Mr and Mrs Chris. There are two aspects to your question the spotting prior to the menses and the inability to conceive after five years. How old is your wife? Any spotting after intercourse. Was any lesion noticed in the cervix when sample for vaginal swab was been taken? Possible causes of the spotting could include hormonal imbalance, fibroid polyps, cervical ectropion and even early malignancy of the cervix. Your wife will need a good examination by a gynaecologist to exclude these causes and do further investigations to find out the cause of the spotting, Even though she was the only one that had growth in the urine sample, you should not forget as we do advise that the two of you must be treated. Concerning the inability to conceive since the last delivery five years ago the two of you should go for infertility work up to know the cause and the way forward.

before the thirteenth or twelfth week. The rule is to apply it at a lower gestational age than the last miscarriage. Cervical cerclage had been of proven benefit in management of second trimester miscarriages.

MALODOROUS DISCHARGE I am 21 years old and married. I have this problem of always itching my private part. I also experience whitish discharge of which has foul odour. Please what do I do? Zainab. Discharge per vaginum with odorous smell is not to be taken lightly especially in women of reproductive age. This is because it is likely to be a sign of pelvic inflammatory disease – PID. This is one of the leading cause of infertility in couples because it could result to tubal damage or occlusion with or without pelvic adhesion in the female while in the male counterpart it could lead to low sperm count due to obstruction of the spermatic cord. Therefore, the need to do aggressive, urgent and complete treatment of the couple cannot be overemphasized. From your explanation you have mixed infection of bacteria and fungi. The odorous discharge implies that there is likely to be bacteria infection while the itching is fungi origin. You need to see a gynaecologist for examination and do investigation like endocervical and high vaginal swabs for microscopy culture and sensitivity. Combining antibiotics with antifungal will be necessary. Antifungal may be a combination of oral, pessary and vaginal cream You and your spouse have to be treated at the same time.

Please, kindly include your full name and where you are writing from when sending your questions. Thank you. TAMBARI SUNDAY, J U N E 26, 2016
