young author, Yahuza Haruna Jada, has said his goal for writing is to contribute to the expansion of knowledge especially in the religious arena. Yahuza who recently published a book, ‘Reciter’s Guide’ in an interview with YOUTHVILLE said he had to teach the subject of Tajweed but it was difficult to get a book on this written in English language. “Since then I started thinking on how to contribute my own quota in this field in English language. That was how it started,” he added. Students’ quest for knowledge, my inspiration
Recently, my students of Tajweed in Abuja couldn’t find any book in English on this so I was challenged to do a handout that will help them in the subject. We started working towards that and by the special grace of God today it has become a reality. The book has crucial objectives The major massage as the name of the book implies is the reciter’s guide is to guide the reciters of the Holy Qur’an on how to recite Qur’an based on the recitation of the Holy Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon Him and the way it was revealed to the Holy Prophet by Angel Gabriel. chapters that will teach you how to recite Qur’an in this book. My plans for the future on the publication Already there are a lot of request from Muslims brothers for us to start working on this book and translate it into Arabic and Hausa languages. hen did you start doing music professionally? My love and passion for music started from my childhood, I started performing at an early stage in various musical groups and choirs. As a chorister in church, I started writing and composing various gospel songs and hymns, later on I was elected as the music director in my church. My music professional career started in 2007, after composing various hit tracks for artists; I decided it was time to do what I was born to do, ‘Professional Gospel Songs.’ As an upcoming artist, do you face any challenge? Every upcoming artist in our society
faces a lot of challenges especially when it comes to doing good music and also breaking into the already established vibrant music industry in Nigeria. Finance is the major challenge most upcoming artist faces, especially in the area of getting a good record deal, sponsorship, promotions and most basic of all the shooting of good quality videos need financing. There is also discouragement and lack of Music career awareness. Many upcoming artistes are discouraged from chasing a musical career because either their parents or the society see it a waste of time. Then, piracy kills the business. The musical body and government needs to put stringent measures and laws to checkmate this.
What projects are you working on? There are lots of projects I am working on but presently am working on the video of my recently released single title “MAKOSA” featuring MR. DRILL, the open my way crooner, after which I will be hitting the studio for my next album. Why didn’t you practice journalism? I love what I studied in the university – Mass Communication because it gave me a platform to build my inborn talent – music. We all cannot wait to get employed, some of us are born to work out our destiny with our talent. What are your plans for the next five years? I see myself flying above the sky, performing not just in Nigeria but at

school soon. It was learnt that three applicants have been recommended by an interview panel for the post. Ojeniyi who confirmed this said, “The three applicants recommended by the interview panel are our members, and ASUP considered all of them eminently qualified.” He however noted that the union will reject any appointment made outside the recommended list as they fear unqualified applicants could be brought in.
He further said the union dissociated itself from any report against the acting Rector, Dr. Ayodele Olaosebikan noting that with her, the polytechnic has continued to experience highly conducive academic atmosphere. The spokesman for the Polytechnic, Mr. Ladi Badmus in a statement said the acting Rector has been enjoying enormous support from the stakeholders including host communities and dismissed any contrary report.

forum of youth in Nigeria has called on the federal government to turn to renewable energy as a solution to power crisis bedevilling the country. The call was made during the youths’ annual forum’s meeting held in Abuja by the Association of Youth Renewable Energy Advocate Initiative (AYREAI), recently. The youths asked the federal government to employ the renewable energy solution with a view to ending the lingering power supply failure. The forum recalled that some people have since started seeking alternative solutions to the country’s on-going fuel crisis through the use of solar energy and rechargeable electrical appliances. It lamented that Nigeria’s crude oil production has since reached
over 2.0million barrels, per day, but many of its citizens live without electricity. The forum also decried corruption in the country, especially in the oil sector, saying that the situation was responsible for the sharp socio-economic divide among the poor and rich in the society. “The level of poverty has reached an alarming proportion while the rich continue to bask in their mostly ill-gotten wealth without any shame,” the forum said. The forum called on the government to empower youths and diversify Nigeria’s economy away from oil, notably through export of agricultural products. The forum urged the government to engage reputable professionals across all sectors of the economy and technocrats with a view to helping the country find long term solutions to its problems.
