aim is to serve as a platform for people willing to financially support orphans through all levels of education. We currently sponsor an orphan at the rate of N84,000 annually which is N7,000 a month. We now have three active projects, which are; the full and partial sponsorship schemes, as well as the family sponsorship. The partial scheme involves sponsoring an orphan at the rate of N50,000 per annum, and the Family pegs sponsorship at N220,000 annually. We currently have 15-orphans (five boys and 10 girls) between ages six and15 years in Kano, Katsina and Kaduna State. What is your current member strength? At the moment, there are about 30 members’ of the foundation with 12 as officials, and 8 as sponsors. What are your plans for expansion? The initial plan was to add at least four orphans every year, Alhamdulillah it has been achieved since. We also hope to have stable and consistent sponsors as it is vital in attaining a realistic target. We are currently planning to get more sponsors as well as donations to increase our capacity. In the next five years, I would say 35-40 orphans. A comprehensive breakdown of all financial activities from inception to date can also be found on our site (www.iyateem.com).
