Take all the nukes on the planet, assemble a giant missile, and blow the little bugger right into the sun. Problem solved. Gravity might be off for a bit, but new sports records might be set, and we might achieve nuclear disarmament and world peace. It’s already getting warmer on this little world – way more fires, way more storms, and way more conflict. There are ways to fix our problems, but we probably won’t anytime soon. The main reason? We may not have the good sense. Mess up a planet protected by a darkeyed, dark-skinned guardian with fangs for earrings, radiating light in every direction, and you’re gonna learn the real meaning of Ignite.

ancing in the dark is a pretty good metaphor for the times, huh? No matter how dark it seems to get, just keep on dancin’, even if no one sees you. Springsteen wrote Dancing as the last song for 1984’s Born in the U.S.A., but only after his manager pushed him to come up with a guaranteed hit single to launch the album before it released. Springsteen didn’t take kindly to the suggestion, but went home and wrote it as a song about, well – having to write a song, when he didn’t want to. It won him his first Grammy, turned the album into a classic, got him on MTV with a Brian De Palma video of him doing his best Elvis – and pretty much made him a superstar.
All it took was a spark.
Can’t start a fire without it. Keep that in mind – all your ideas and intentions and plans for ways to move forward, all the fuel for change, won’t ignite without a spark of inspiration, passion, even frustration. Without it, all that fuel is just a stack of wood. Quick, what comes to mind when you think July? Yep. Fireworks, revolutions – big badda boom, as Leloo says in The Fifth Element, which happens to be a pretty good segue into July’s cover image by visionary art goddess Amanda Sage, Earth Guardian. Like Leeloo, she appears to be able to generate some fireworks of her own. Give her a hand. Light your fuse, get your badda boom on. That’s what it’ll take to light up the night and ignite some divine fire, some long overdue and explosive changes in ourselves and in the planet. Get ready, though. Like The Boss says in the song… You can’t start a fire worrying about your little world falling apart.

SPECIAL DELIVERY How to get CBD into your body by Barrett Smith
W
ith the abundance of options available, there’s some confusion about which CBD product is best. First question? Which delivery method is right for you. You do not have to become a cloud-puffing vaper to enjoy the benefits of CBD, nor do you have to hold a repulsivetasting oil beneath your tongue for extended periods of time. The method of delivery for CBD products is solely up to you, and what you’re trying to accomplish. Sublingual. Most common method, dropping CBD oil beneath your tongue. Sublingual glands absorb CBD quickly, sending it through your bloodstream. Most feel calming effects within twenty minutes. After seven to ten days, taking CBD sublingually on a regular basis begins to give you systemic relief of much of what ails you. Water-solubles. One of the newer delivery methods, drinkable formulas mixed with water. One of the most effective methods, for a simple reason – your body is primarily water, so it’s very receptive to these formulas. Many believe watersolubles to be most likely to have the highest bioavailability, or likelihood of highest CBD uptake – upwards of ninety percent when properly formulated, compared to the standard thirty to forty percent of many products on the market. Vaping. Fastest-acting. When vapor is inhaled into the lungs, it gets directly into the bloodstream immediately. Disadvantage is it’s very hard to dose accurately, and some report shorter-lived effects. Extremely effective in combatting acute anxiety. Edibles. Where a lot of people like to start their CBD journey. CBD in a gummy bear takes the scare out of introducing a new chemical to your body you’re not completely sure of. While gummies, brownies, and such may be more appealing, some things to consider before making them your final choice – they must be broken down and digested, like any food, meaning they’ll take at least thirty minutes to get into your system, and the digestion process likely decreases the amount of CBD you actually process. Edible products are incredibly abundant, produced by tons of manufacturers – but there are a lot of products out there labeled CBD that net you none of the effects promised on the labels. There are strong opinions both ways from the medical community, but what would you rather put on your skin in a sensitive area, right over lymph nodes? Chemicals you can’t pronounce, with proven harmful side effects, barely doing the job – or natural, organic ingredients surpassing the effectiveness of normal deodorant, letting your body function properly?

Aluminum. Heavy metal, anyone? Potential cause of cancer and degenerative brain disease, like Alzheimer’s. Higher risk of birth defects suggests phthalates may disrupt hormone receptors, increasing likelihood of cell mutation. Dangerous to male reproductive system. Triclosan. Classified a pesticide and probable carcinogen by the EPA. Recently banned in many products in the U.S. – anti-bacterial hand soaps, washes, gels. Zero proof it’s safe or effective, but still allowed in toothpaste and deodorants. BHT (Butylated Hydroxytoluene) Hyperactivity in children. BHT and BHA are considered carcinogens by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Linked to cancer, developmental toxicity, allergies, neurotoxicity, endocrine disruption, biochemical or cellular changes.

Tough to hear at first, but issues triggering an emotional response really are opportunities for personal growth, whether it’s a crazy driver or a family member that knows all your hot buttons. LOA? BS! Walking on water by Dr. Joe Vitale omeone on Facebook wrote a variation of this statement. Napoleon Hill said, ‘Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.’ This is the biggest load of monkey poo since the Law of Attraction. Right now, I am conceiving and believing that I can walk on water. Wish me luck. This is a wonderful example of illogical thinking. Does the person really think they can walk on water? Can they really imagine it? Do they really believe it?
But like the person who posted the opening line, you probably won’t see the fallacy of your thinking without someone there to lovingly point it out to you. This is why it’s so important to have a coach. A coach can listen to you speak, reflect back to you the very beliefs you won’t even hear yourself saying, and help you question any beliefs that don’t serve you. For example, the person who was poking holes at Napoleon Hill’s statement probably didn’t realize they weren’t being logical, or even accurate.
Obviously not.
Arguing for limitations seems silly to me.

And if they can’t, they just proved Napoleon Hill right. Hill said, “Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve,” not “Whatever your mind can make up, even though you don’t really believe it and it’s not really possible, it can achieve.” Big difference. And please note that Hill said you can achieve it, not you will achieve it. He wisely left room for the possibility of you not actually attracting what you conceive and believe. He knew you still had to work all steps, including taking action. His quote wasn’t just about conceiving and believing.
He said there were at least sixteen laws, remember.
He wrote about them in such books as Laws of Success and, of course, Think and Grow Rich. The ridicule people give the Law of Attraction or Napoleon Hill is a reflection of their own belief system – only they rarely see it. I remember being in Russia at one of many book signings and meet and greets. An elderly gentleman in one audience said, “I really want to believe in this Law of Attraction, but the skeptics make a good case against it.” “Have you ever noticed that the skeptics seem to hang out together,” I began, “and the Law of Attraction positive thinkers seem to gather together?” He smiled, nodding, as it dawned on him what I was saying. “Everyone is living the Law of Attraction,” I explained, “but some know it consciously and others don’t. You’re free to believe what you like, and you’ll attract whatever evidence you need to support your belief, even when it’s illogical to others. That’s the Law of Attraction.”
Remember, you get what you really believe, not what you want to believe.
In other words, when you examine your own statements, you might see the twisted logic behind them.

Why argue against goals, success, visualization, positive thinking and the like? Why not argue for them? After all, the whole point is to help you achieve success. Why not find ways to prove Napoleon Hill right? Hill also wrote, Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another. Anyone who tries to dismiss the positive and encouraging words of Hill is speaking without thinking. More than that, they are raining on the hopes and dreams of other people. That isn’t wise, kind, loving, or useful. As Mark Twain said, Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great. Napoleon Hill believed in you. So do I. Go for your dreams. PS – For the record, I can walk on water. I’ve done it numerous times, usually in Ohio, usually during the winter months. We called it ice. ou know the feeling. You’re tied to something, and it won’t let go. Even if it does, you’re not sure if you’re a hundred percent ready to let it go. In the meantime, it sucks up your thoughts, your emotions – your energy. Sometimes, you get real strong and pull back on the connection, feel pretty good about yourself for a while. Then that old familiar tug of war starts again, back and forth. There are a lot of ways to connect to other people, places, things, and ideas. Some of them are a nice, productive connection, a mutual, circular flow of energy that benefits everyone involved. Others are a push-pull connection that may seem to be benefiting one side or the other – but in the long run, the only real benefit is to the connection itself, mindlessly feeding on the energy it generates. One day, it feels like you’re winning. The next, you’re being pulled over to the other side, and the only thing you can do to get your juju back is to pull harder in your direction. Works for awhile, but eventually you get tired of chasing the carrot on the end of the stick and decide it’s time to cut the cord, sever the connection, and move on.
Which may be the worst thing you can do.

Clairvoyants, people who can see, describe those kinds of connections as actual cords, energetic connections. There are a lot of modalities that teach how to cut those cords, but there’s a drawback to most of them. Cords are sort of like weeds, sucking up water and nutrients that could be benefiting your garden – and if you’ve ever cut down a weed, you know what happens. It grows back, even stronger. Only way to get rid of a weed is to pull it up, roots and all. Since they suck up energy like the little vampires they are, cords are generally found where life force energy is strong, near chakra centers. They’re usually on the back, and to a practitioner they might feel, cold, empty, or just off, like a black hole. Using Reiki symbols on such a spot might make the energy shift – if not, it’s probably a cord. There are modalities with cord cutting procedures that follow strict energetic hygiene, including techniques for getting all the roots out and disposing of the whole mess, completely and safely. Still, there are implications, and not the least of them is the question of who’s doing the work – the practitioner or the recipient? Traditional Reiki doesn’t include a cord cutting or pulling procedure, but there is a way to use Quantum Reiki techniques and symbols to identify possible cords and help clients release the connection themselves, safely and confidentially, instead of letting the Reiki practitioner do the work (and maybe get the karma).
Reiki, Bach Flower Remedies, and Releasing Cords Bach Flower Remedies are a good follow up to help with emotions released along with the cord, and to strengthen the client’s resolve not to hook right back up. Walnut, for instance, is a good protective remedy, helping you negotiate big transitions without looking in the rearview mirror.
The good news?
You can’t be corded against your will. There are no victims, it’s been said – only volunteers. You have to let the vampire in before he can commence to sucking. The bad news? Once he’s in, he’s in, and hanging garlic on the window won’t make him go away. All your amulets and affirmations will be of limited value until you decide you’re ready to release the connection, maybe with the help of a good practitioner. The best news? There’s a simple way to keep from being corded – awareness. Practice good energetic habits, be circumspect about connections you make, and remember – if something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. THE HAL HUGGINS STORY A Pinto, leukemia, and the sound of crickets by Dr. Matthew Carpenter, DDS, NMD, and Michael Abedin
F
Credit is due to my mentor Hal Huggins for introducing me to miracles in the dental office. Prior to working with Hal, it didn’t seem possible people could heal from diseases, or reverse illnesses – it seemed only if necessary medical care was provided, definitely including prescription medications, maybe the person could try to return to a ‘normal’ life. I didn’t really understand very much about the healing potential of mind, body, and spirit at that time. Hal Huggins pushed the limits of what was possible, for his patients (and for me) from the mid-1970s until his passing in 2014. Dr. Huggins had a list of what were considered non-responsive illnesses he successfully reversed with many patients – through dentistry. Specifically, he was removing poisonous metals and infections from patients, using protocols he researched through blood chemistry analysis. His thanks? His license was revoked, but later restored. Looking back, it was Hal who gave me permission to believe a patient can really heal from a diagnosed illness. That was a very big shift, and a gift for me, and my patients – learning it’s important what your doctor believes about your health. Having been a person that suffered terribly with gut and digestion problems, insomnia, depression, anxiety, fatigue, arthritis, and nervous system problems, I have a strong interest in seeing patients with these problems recover – because it was also my story.

or the early part of his career, Hal Huggins was a devout, card-carrying practitioner of mainstream dentistry, packing amalgam into cavities as if there were no tomorrow – a very real possibility for him at some point if he’d kept at it his whole life. Fate, however, had other plans, as it so often does, and moved in its usual mysterious ways. In 1973, Huggins was lecturing at a dental conference in Mexico City about balancing blood chemistry as a way of reducing dental decay and gum disease, one of his favorite topics, and mentioned some abnormalities he couldn’t resolve – and, to his consternation, couldn’t explain why he couldn’t resolve them. Afterwards, one of the dentists in the audience approached him, and casually explained the problem was simple – a blockage created by mercury leaking from amalgam fillings. Dr. Olympio Pinto was from Brazil, where both his parents had been dentists. In the 1920s, his father heard a lecture about the dangers of mercury, and later was asked to clean the teeth of a six-year-old girl with leukemia whose gums hurt. Why not, he thought, while I’m here, and quietly removed all her amalgam fillings. The next day, her doctors reported a miracle – spontaneous remission of her leukemia! When Pinto’s father told the doctors what he’d done, he was ridiculed, so he replaced the fillings, and the leukemia returned. When he removed it – sure enough, no more leukemia.
The headlines!
The little girl went on to live a leukemia-free life, Pinto’s father became a national hero, and dentists in Brazil vowed never to place another mercury-laden filling – and if you believe that, the Tooth Fairy will leave you big bucks if you put your baby teeth under the pillow when you lose them, and bunnies will hide eggs on your lawn on Easter. The girl did live leukemia-free, but there were no Dentist Cures Leukemia! headlines in the Rio de Janeiro papers the next day – or even in medical or dental journals. Huggins, however, listened as Pinto recited case after case of vile diseases – maladies like Hodgkin’s lymphoma and sickle cell anemia – whose development he’d traced to mercury toxicity, the subject for his Master’s at Georgetown University. In some cases, he even showed how diseases once considered rare became commonplace in specific ethnic or geographical groups within a few years of their introduction to amalgam. Pinto compiled a huge bibliography of scientific studies on the topic – until the National Institute of Dental Research (NIDR), a branch of the National Institute of Health did a little arm-twisting, and invited him either to change his master’s subject or go back to Brazil.
He stayed, changed his topic as instructed, and never published any of his work. Instead, he decided to turn it over to Huggins – whose outlook on his chosen profession began to show signs of cracking.
Within three days, he got rid if all his amalgam equipment.
For the next six years, Huggins shot in the dark, trying to use his goto methodology, chemical processes, to prove mercury amalgam was making people sick. He had more failures than successes – and in the meantime, it was draining his time and resources, financially and emotionally. Ironically, as his research started showing better results, phone calls, mail, and lecture requests started pouring in, but his practice began to suffer since he was only seeing patients one day a week. Being booked for talks a year and a half in advance was its own reward, though – until it wasn’t. Seems the powers that be got word of his troublemaking ways and issued an edict – if Huggins is on the bill, no education credits for your lectures or seminars. What kept him going was success with individual cases of “spontaneous” remission – predictable ones, usually four to five days into treatment. It was, he said, remarkable how predictable spontaneity could be. Only problem was, the scientific community weren’t interested in case histories of people getting well – those were only anecdotes. If, perhaps, he could conform to the strictures of scientific methodology and do controlled studies, maybe using Pinto’s technique of putting amalgam back into patients to make them sick again – well, maybe then… Needless to say, this suggestion didn’t meet with much enthusiasm from patients, who, quite understandably, didn’t want to be sick again. (Care for some leukemia? No thanks – just had some.)
The Conference, the Big Guns, and Newspeak.
Finally, after eleven years of swimming upstream, it looked like a moment of vindication had arrived. Huggins was invited to speak at a conference on Biocompatability of Dental Materials sponsored by the big guns, the American Dental Association and the NIDR. It came to pass largely because an investigative reporter’s Emmy-winning series on mercury toxicity included visits to both organizations’ research facilities, where it was discovered their claims to be actively researching said toxicity turned out to be nothing but that – claims. Caught red-handed (or emptyhanded, actually), they decided to investigate, and who better to state the case but Huggins, who’d already invested over a decade of research? Thing was, the NIDR rep explained, they wanted case studies of his success stories, not his clinical research – that would be their follow-up job, to validate his clinical observations. His anecdotal clinical observations.
To his credit, Huggins didn’t swallow the bait hook, line, and sinker. After some thought, he decided to go ahead and relate how often spontaneous remissions occurred after amalgam was removed, but only after explaining in detail why symptoms appeared in the first place – mercury was leaking out of amalgam fillings. And he had fortyfive minutes to do it. Like any good speaker, he started out with a joke or two – and even the crickets were hearing crickets. …no one laughed, he wrote later. No one even cracked a smile. To say they were a hostile audience would be an understatement. Then the Q&A started – only there were few Q’s, and most everyone seemed to have brought their own A’s, as in Angry Accusations. The NIDR rep that promised to be his bodyguard when things hit the fan was sitting with the ADA. He realized it was a setup, but figured it was worth it if it resulted in even the slightest recommendation to discontinue amalgam use, pending more studies. The conclusion, however, was that no scientific evidence had been presented to demonstrate any problems, only case histories – which was, of course, precisely what they asked for. Huggins later found out that very same conclusion had been typed up long before his presentation, when the investigative reporter whom Huggins snuck in on an extra ticket saw the pre-drawn conclusions. Huggins might as well have quoted the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny. Oh, and keep in mind this all transpired eleven years after he first met Pinto, in 1973. Add eleven to 1973, and what do you get?

If you listened closely in the conference room when the pre-formed conclusions were reached, you could probably almost hear George Orwell chuckling in the background – accompanied by the crickets.

The Seduction of Seduction by Christina Allen
T
here is a romantic narrative in our culture about being swept off our feet and succumbing to some sublime pull from the Mystic, to be overcome, ever entwined, and enthralled. It’s the theme of many a mad love story. We long to surrender our cautious minds and merge with the infinite world of our hearts, if only we could. It’s hard to put your finger on it, but there’s something sexy about seduction, about someone pulling us into compliance, oblivion, about the surrender of our will to an infinite One. It’s almost as if we come preprogramed for it, and perhaps we do. Who hasn’t felt a biological attraction to someone who really does not have long-term partner potential? When we’ve been seduced by someone we find compelling, we feel transfixed, taken under their spell, pulled in beyond our control, charmed. Perhaps our innate biology has embedded within it this override button that says, To heck with it – yes! Perhaps this is how we have continued to exist as a species – seduction, the ultimate mating enigma, creating endless strains of biological diversity. For many there’s something magical and intoxicating about this. We will override our morals and ethics to comply. We give up our riches and our bodies, our marriages, our minds, even our hearts. It is a strange phenomenon, indeed.
We always awake from seduction, however.
We find ourselves the next day wondering what happened, or months later walking hand in hand with a stranger, or perhaps holding the keys to a fancy car we didn’t know we wanted, wondering how we got here. It’s one of the conundrums of the human psyche. Since we all seem to have this strange grey area in our psyches, where we want to be pulled out of the rational and into the realm of magic, we are susceptible to having this used against us. There are unscrupulous beings who have mastered the art of deception to exploit our longing to surrender, people who master the art of seduction. It’s sinister – but it’s worth mentioning.

Usually deep within, these people do not feel confident about who they are, so they try to draw us in. They prey on wounds left unhealed – the need for approval or status, for example, a lack of self value, a need for connection, or community. They may have strong charisma – we even say they’re charming. We sleep with them, join their cults, we buy their products. We can’t help it, we were seduced. They are all about exploiting our weaknesses to gain power over us. The only way to be immune to these “hits’ is to dig in deep and do our personal work.
No one can take our power away from us. We give it away.
Take that in. So why are you so willing to give yours up? While we’re programmed to surrender to something ominous and magical, the only thing we’re truly meant to surrender to is the infinite space of our hearts – and in that, our divine connection to Source. We want to meet other humans on an even playing field. We want to walk hand in hand with them because we like who they are, because we respect them, and they, us. A relationship based on mutual respect is not an exploitive one. Even if someone is older than us, wiser, more spiritually evolved than us, sexier, or has exceptional wealth, beauty or power, if they use their position to intentionally awe us, instead of meeting us as equals, they are trying to seduce us. If, instead of meeting them as equals, we try to woo them, because they have something we want, it’s just as uncool. Do your homework. Take responsibility for your choices. Let your seductions be consensual. Then surrender. In addition to being the name of The Goddess, Kundalini is a process that can happen to anybody under almost any circumstances.
