Taranaki has been known as ‘The Garden of New Zealand’ for over 150 years. Early settlers coined the term in the region’s earliest marketing material, and these days the gardenseven have their own festivals.

Every spring the Centuria Taranaki Garden Festival, Taranaki Fringe Garden Festival and Sustainable Backyards Trail showcase more than 100 gardens throughout the region – every style of garden is presented, from eclectic to epic, along with events and workshops.
