Taranaki - The Garden of New Zealand

Gardens in Taranaki offer something all year round.

Taranaki has been known as ‘The Garden of New Zealand’ for over 150 years. Early settlers coined the term in the region’s earliest marketing material, and these days the gardenseven have their own festivals.
