My top must-do’s for visitors would have to be… • Visit The Edwin Fox Museum or any of the other local musuems. Marlborough has a fascinating history. • Take this mini road trip: From Picton head over the Queen Charlotte Drive, treat yourself to some fresh mussels in Havelock then head out to Pelorus for a swim and a walk. Head back through Rapara Road and check out the wineries, Vines Village shops and the chocolate factory. Head out to Ōmaka Aviation Museum in Blenheim then back to Picton. Both Picton and Waikawa have great foreshore areas for families with mini-golf, a boating pond, mini-train and playgrounds. Waikawa Bay is a great place to hang out especially in the summer with swimming, fishing and the community BBQ to cook on. • Go out on the Marlborough Sounds – diving, fishing, kayaking
The Edwin Fox Ship and Visitor Centre Manager, Picton or aboard the mail boat trip. • Check out the Marlborough wine trail and enjoy some local food at a winery. • Walk or bike one of the many tracks, such as Queen Charlotte Track or the Nydia track. You might not have heard of it, but Karaka Point just past Waikawa Bay is a short walk; it is a pā site and has amazing views! I’m starting to feel hungry just thinking about Oxleys on Picton waterfront. There are so many winery restaurants to choose from in Marlborough but my favourite would be St Clair. We have a great toastie shop in Picton, too and Blenheim has a great place called Gramandos. The Tiger Bar at Hotel Durville has live music most Fridays. For a delightful day trip I would recommend going to Lochmara Lodge in the Marlborough Sounds Living in Picton is awesome. It is a small friendly region and has so much to offer. We have an amazing selection of events within the community including the Havelock Mussel Festival, The Wine and Food Festival, Picton Maritime Festival, Ōmaka Airshow and of course many sporting events, like the St Clair Half Marathon and the Graperide.

Of course, we have amazing scenery, too!
