Patient Stabs Kerala Doctor To Death

A 23-year-old Dr Vandana Das was stabbed to death by a man whose leg wound she was dressing at a hospital in Kerala’s Kollam district where he was brought after an alleged fight with his family members Dismayed over the killing of the young doctor, the Kerala High Court said the incident was an outcome of the police and government failure and sought a report regarding the incident from the state police chief According to ADGP (Law and Order) Ajith Kumar the incident occurred when the accused identified as Sandeep a schoolteacher was being taken to the hospital for treatment of the wounds he had suffered allegedly due to a quarrel While the wound was being dressed by Dr Vandana Das, he suddenly got provoked and attacked everyone standing there using a pair of scissors and scalpel Das who suffered grievous injuries in the attack, died a few hours later The accused was apprehended

Tn Minister Loses Finance Portfolio

Aap Govt In Punjab Hikes Power Tariff

The Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) announced an increase of 8 64 per cent in tariff for this year Fixed charges as well as per unit tariff have been increased taking the average cost of power to Rs 7 04 per unit up from Rs 6 48 per unit last year The tariff has been increased after three years Domestic consumers who will continue to get 300 units of free power each month, will have to pay Rs 15 per kilowatt as additional fixed charges and an average of 65 paisa per unit hike The commercial consumers will have to pay additional Rs 25-30 as fixed charges and bear a hike of 47 paisa average per unit rate

SC QUESTIONS BENGAL GOVT OVER BAN ON 'KERALA STORY’ MOVIE

The Supreme Court asked the West Bengal government why it had banned the movie The Kerala Story’ when it was running in theatres in other parts of the country and directed the Tamil Nadu government to specify the measures taken to ensure safe screening of the film in theatres in the state When senior advocate A M Singhvi defended the ban on the film citing a huge number of intelligence reports about grave danger to peace , a bench of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justice P S Narasimha said, The film has been released in the rest of the country, the bench said The bench said, "West Bengal is no different from any other part of the country If the film can be screened in all other parts of the country, why should the state of Bengal ban the film? If the public feels it is not worth watching the film, they will not watch it ”
