Producer Teo Macero’s copy of the Tape I.D. sheet from the first actual session on November 10, 1959. Miles was so late for the session that he did not play. An attempt to salvage the date by prerecording the piece for later overdubbing was in progress when Miles finally arrived. The performance can be heard on Disc 2, Track 2.

Teo Macero's hand-written production notes for “The Pan Piper,” “Will O’ the Wisp,” and “Saeta.”
