Sketches of Spain – 50th Anniversary

A copy of Nat Hentoff’s article for Hi-Fi/Stereo Review (February 1960), found in Teo Macero's archives. Excerpts of this article appeared in the original liner notes for the LP issue of Sketches of Spain.

Producer Teo Macero’s copy of the Tape I.D. sheet from the first actual session on November 10, 1959. Miles was so late for the session that he did not play. An attempt to salvage the date by prerecording the piece for later overdubbing was in progress when Miles finally arrived.

The performance can be heard on Disc 2, Track 2.
