The resort has 23 rooms and suites and 22 two to five bedroom villas. Each villa has a private pool, fireplace and large outdoor areas These are spread across the resort adding to intimacy of hotel.

Comporta is a little paradise, as if lost at the end of the world It reigns a serenity and a sweetness of life without ostentation that seduced them immediately, from their first trip here Eight years after their first visit to the region, they decide to build their first house in front of the rice fields of Comporta fields.

With their thatched roofs Campo de Arroz, Casas de Arroz and Flor de Arroz pay homage to the traditional homes of the region. The infinity pools overlook Comporta’s rice fields and meadows. It is the best place to enjoy the “slow life” spirit of Comporta.
A bright and open architecture
For the realization of their projects, they call on the architect Luis Pereira Miguel (PM-ARQ) with whom they share their love for Comporta and the same vision of the local building: a luminous architecture, an integration with the nature environment, respect for local traditions and the use of raw materials.
Luis Pereira Miguel and his partner, Filipe Martins Correia, together manage the architecture firm PM-ARQ several times distinguished at international competitions Based in Lisbon, they practice architecture, urban planning, design, 3D and architectural research Their portfolio includes a variety of programs, ranging from single-family to multi-family housing, interior design, commercial spaces, tourism and rehabilitation

Alma da Comporta has been thought to be a contemplative retreat, a place to take time, where to find serenity. Alma da Comporta is three places: Campo de Arroz and Flor de Arroz facing the rice fields of Carvalhal, and Casas de Arroz near the village of Comporta.

The Houses
Alma da Comporta are homes designed to take the time to travel, to get lost in nature, to experience the simple pleasures and unique experiences that this region offers us Better than addresses, these are destinations!
ALMA DA COMPORTA | CAMPO DE ARROZ
This house is composed of two separate rectangular volumes, parallel to each other. Arranged along the north-south axis, they adapt to the topography of the existing land and face the rice fields to the east The first volume is a wooden structure suspended above the ground that rests on the second concrete volume of the pool, creating a large platform with a fantastic view A small dune with native vegetation protects the house from the street, while letting the sun shine in the living room. The architectural concept is to follow the horizontality of the landscape and location, while working with local materials and crafts From the outside the house thus appears perfectly integrated into its environment.

Four huts with different independent volumes that together form a refuge open to the rice fields and fields of Comporta The construction methods and materials used are traditional, such as brick walls, concrete structure, lightweight wooden roofs and thatched roofs. The common space created is made up of different simple volumes They are arranged to create openings to the surrounding nature, while protecting the inner courtyards from the wind and sun The overflow swimming pool completes this resort by overlooking the nature that faces it
At the foot of the rice fields, they are two rectangular huts parallel to each other They are positioned in a staggered way to enjoy the sun and light throughout the day These cocoons are drowned in the raw and inspiring nature that surrounds them, and the pool is a continuation of the rice fields The project here consisted in finding the right balance between the nature and construction of these new volumes. The goal is to fully integrate them into their environment, as if they had always been there

In the middle of the Estate, surrounded by the air of the countryside, there are two small houses painted in blue and white Casa das Alcachofras and Casa das Beterrabas share the same DNA, but like two good sisters, each has its own character Despite cohabiting side by side, between the Casas da Horta there is space for everyone to be in their place On the outside, both have clear Alentejo features: the paint on the walls, the red doors, the tiled roof
They are ideally sized to let the air flow freely, without ever losing the warmth of the fireplace. The surrounding scenery paints a rural picture where you can contemplate everything in nothing. When the sun shines and the heat is stifling, the pool is not lacking For lunch, dinner, midnight drinks or late-afternoon snacks, there is also an outdoor dining space designed for leisurely eating. Maria was born in Belgium and grew up to be a woman of the world. You've seen it all, but you always want to know more: People, countries, stories For her, cultures never clash: they complement each other She learned it the best way: Flying direct from Brussels to the Vincentian coast. There it was the wild animal that bit her and she quickly fell in love with the calm of Alentejo life Graduated in hospitality, her greatest passion is receiving She always has her arms open to meet whoever arrives, and she wants to go wherever the restlessness takes her
Bernardo is more peaceful by nature He spent his childhood in Sintra and that is where he will always be Surrounded by greenery and friends who are practically family, he planted his roots there It is in the serenity of the countryside that he finds himself and wants to stay
When the stars aligned, these two crossed paths. It was a friend who introduced them and the love for the countryside that brought them together They married dreams and desires, gathered the bundle and moved together to Alcácer do Sal
Later, two became 3 The story continues, with the countryside as a backdrop, and Benedita grows with all the space that the Herdade offers.

The Quinta do Almargem belongs to the family for centuries and the stud was founded in 1990 by one of its members, architect Luis Ressano Garcia Lamas to raise sport horses, especially for endurance riding Quinta do Almargem has participated in many international endurance competitions and sponsored some.
In parallel to our successful sport horses breading and competitions, in 2010 we initiated another prestigious activity, that as an increasing acceptance both national and international, consisting in horseback riding out in the untouched country side of Serra de Grândola

Horse Ride Melides provide year round ridding . All horses are easy to ride and laid back You do not need to be the world’s greatest rider to come on this holiday and even if you are, you will still find it a great way to get to see the breath taking views of Alentejo.
The stables are set only 10 km from the wild sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean The ride will take you into the hills that give you panoramic views over the country side and coast line You will have full contact with the forest of the Serra de Grãndola where the famous cork trees have grown for centuries in one on the untouched environments of Portugal
During our rides in the woods we can see a huge variety of mushrooms that sprout after the first rain in October and exist until Spring. In order to identify them we can provide you with a illustrated brochure with the different species
