With only 18 issues of ABSOLUTE ESCAPE we reached 1,500,000 readers in 194 countries, which is a magnificent number, for a new project and outside the box of what is normal in tourist magazines

The new ABSOLUTE ESCAPE portal is about to debut at absoluteescape pt, and we continue with the current one with an average of 14,000 visitors per month, which leads us to aspire that the new platform can have more than 25,000 monthly visits in 2023

We want to go further in 2023 we will have 3 magazines, 7 supplements and 3 guides, always in the digital component, with a digital magazine and a web portal.

With ABSOLUTE ESCAPE GUIDE we innovated once again and added a digital guide and a web portal, both the magazine and the portal are always up to date, and the guide is available for download and free access

With an initial adhesion well above our expectations, although conservative, we are sure that it will be an excellent vehicle for promoting destinations, and that it will help in the direct reservations of readers with them

Comporta is a little paradise, as if lost at the end of the world. It reigns a serenity and a sweetness of life without ostentation that seduced them immediately, from their first trip here. Eight years after their first visit to the region, they decide to build their first house in front of the rice fields of Comporta fields

Happy to share their passion for this wild region with travelers from all over the world, they create a travel and lifestyle blog: Alma da Comporta. This blog is the place where they share their favorites and the best experiences of Comporta.

With their thatched roofs Campo de Arroz, Casas de Arroz and Flor de Arroz pay homage to the traditional homes of the region. The infinity pools overlook Comporta’s rice fields and meadows. It is the best place to enjoy the “slow life” spirit of Comporta.

A bright and open architecture

For the realization of their projects, they call on the architect Luis Pereira Miguel (PM ARQ) with whom they share their love for Comporta and the same vision of the local building: a luminous architecture, an integration with the nature environment, respect for local traditions and the use of raw materials

Simplicity and authenticity are the hallmarks of Comporta, and they are also the thread of their constructions. The decoration is refined, but remains warm The goal is for everyone to find their place naturally. These refuges are open to the nature that surrounds them They were designed so that the rice fields are their horizon, as far as the eye can see, and in each room.

Luis Pereira Miguel and his partner, Filipe Martins Correia, together manage the architecture firm PM ARQ several times distinguished at international competitions Based in Lisbon, they practice architecture, urban planning, design, 3D and architectural research. Their portfolio includes a variety of programs, ranging from single family to multi family housing, interior design, commercial spaces, tourism and rehabilitation

Together they work on the construction of Alma da Comporta houses and huts. They take the codes of the fishermen’s huts of the region: wood, thatched roof, pilings, while integrating modernity and a little more comfort.

Alma da Comporta has been thought to be a contemplative retreat, a place to take time, where to find serenity. Alma da Comporta is three places: Campo de Arroz and Flor de Arroz facing the rice fields of Carvalhal, and Casas de Arroz near the village of Comporta.

The Houses

Alma da Comporta are homes designed to take the time to travel, to get lost in nature, to experience the simple pleasures and unique experiences that this region offers us. Better than addresses, these are destinations!

This house is composed of two separate rectangular volumes, parallel to each other. Arranged along the north south axis, they adapt to the topography of the existing land and face the rice fields to the east The first volume is a wooden structure suspended above the ground that rests on the second concrete volume of the pool, creating a large platform with a fantastic view A small dune with native vegetation protects the house from the street, while letting the sun shine in the living room The architectural concept is to follow the horizontality of the landscape and location, while working with local materials and crafts. From the outside the house thus appears perfectly integrated into its environment

Four huts with different independent volumes that together form a refuge open to the rice fields and fields of Comporta The construction methods and materials used are traditional, such as brick walls, concrete structure, lightweight wooden roofs and thatched roofs The common space created is made up of different simple volumes. They are arranged to create openings to the surrounding nature, while protecting the inner courtyards from the wind and sun The overflow swimming pool completes this resort by overlooking the nature that faces it

At the foot of the rice fields, they are two rectangular huts parallel to each other They are positioned in a staggered way to enjoy the sun and light throughout the day These cocoons are drowned in the raw and inspiring nature that surrounds them, and the pool is a continuation of the rice fields. The project here consisted in finding the right balance between the nature and construction of these new volumes The goal is to fully integrate them into their environment, as if they had always been there
