With the 27th edition of ABSOLUTE ESCAPE, we reached 16.000.000 of views in 154 countries, on the two main digital magazine reading platforms in the world

The new Travelosophy portal in the first month online (August) obtained more than 10,000 visits, and the new ABSOLUTE GUIDE portal already has more than 180 subscriptions , these are reasons for us to be very happy.

Monte das Lages in Redondo (Alentejo) is a place that dates back to 1860, and that opened its doors this year as accommodation This is yet another fantastic place, full of history and tradition, which is now shared with the world

An iconic period pool, it is an oasis of freshness and tranquility, allowing you to distance yourself from the world and just be in full communion with nature.

Monte das Lages offers two houses, distinct but equal in comfort, with modern equipment and typical Alentejo decor, where you can breathe the history and tradition of an Alentejo family house.

This project highlights and perpetuates the true legacy and heritage of our Portugal, which I always try to show our readers.

Monte das Lages is a beautiful rural property, composed of two, fully independent terraced houses, that can be rented individually or as a whole.

Both houses have free wi-fi and access to the outdoor swimming pool. The kitchens are fully equipped, and we provide linen, towels and complimentary toiletries

Tranquility, sustainability and contact with nature are some of the things that Monte das Lages has to offer.

Monte das Lages was acquired by the current owner in 1995 and only had two ruins blocks.

In one of these blocks there was a wood oven with the date 1860 inscribed on the wall. It is estimated that the construction dates from that time.

The houses were recovered, a total of three, each with 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms, and it was the home of the owners while the project for the big house was being carried out.

The Casa dos Arcos and Casa do Pátio have been repaired and rehabilitated since 1997.

Peace of mind and Spirit

A state of calmness and tranquility in one's thoughts and emotions, this is what Monte das Lages gives us.

At the time there was only a portion of cork oaks in the farthest zone of the estate.

Later, in 2001, 30 hectares of vines and another 100 hectares of cork oaks were planted

A small dam was built to capture water and irrigate the vineyard.

In 2005 the owner acquired the adjacent Monte - Monte do Zambujal - and also a herd with about 200 heads.

Monte das Lages transmits the true Portuguese culture of hospitality, which is recognized throughout the world.

In addition, about 90 hectares of hay are sown to feed the cows. Despite agricultural subsidies, Monte das Lages is not self-sufficient and so the idea arose, and since the houses in Arcos and Pátio were available, to license them for Local Accommodation

Improvement works were carried out, some items were purchased to modernize and focus on comfort and in February 2023 it was opened to guests.

Monte das Lages also has an iconic swimming pool for guests to enjoy with fresh water and very pleasant shaded areas.
