GLASS liquid PRINTING #Packaging

#3Dprint

#Glass

• Glass liquid printing is a technique based on mixing glass powder and a liquid polymer. • A glass nanocomposite is mixed with glass nanoparticles and then suspended in a photo curable prepolymer. The nanoparticles are combined into a liquid solution that is then used to create printer ink. Once the object is printed it is placed in an oven to be cured and for the excess material to be burned off. • This technique can be used to produce both very large and small objects, in a lot of detail, which is difficult to obtain using standard methods. • It’s application can therefore be used to create merchandise, product packaging and even POS designs. • It is also environmentally friendly, as glass can be recycled and remolded multiple times.

Holographic Print #Hologram

#Motioneffect

#3Dprint

• Lumii creates 3D and motion effects that can be printed on clear film using flexographic label presses – with no new materials or special processes needed. • A light field engine which produces billions of light rays to create the desired design. The process creates high resolution patterns that can be printed on both the front and back of clear substrates. • Effects can work in one color channel at a time, but can be creatively integrated with spot and process color printing, as well as digital customization using hybrid presses. • This system is designed to fit in with existing workflow. It’s more convenient than 3D lenticular technology as it cheaper, easier to print and doesn’t require additional material.

Undercooled metal technology #Liquidmetal

#Heatfree

#Printonflower

• Undercooled metal technology allows heat-free, ambient fabrication of metallic conductive interconnects and traces on all types of substrates. • Allowing you to print metal designs on very delicate materials as the liquid metal does not harm delicate material. • In fact, the technology works by trapping liquid metal below its melting point in oxidized shells. When they are then broken, mechanically or chemically, the metal inside the shells flow and solidifies, creating metal lines or traces.

ARTIFICIALLY INTELLIGENT GLASS #Smartglass

#FaceID

#Biometrictech

• A recently released innovation (July) is the Artificially Intelligent glass aka. Smart Glass. It a can recognize images without any need for sensors, circuits or even power sources. • When a number is written down , light reflecting off the digit enters one side of the glass, the bubbles and impurities then scatter light waves in different ways depending on the number until they reach one of the 10 designated digits on the opposite side of the glass. • At the speed of light, the glass then recognizes the number without the need for any power source. • Can be used in the biometric technology industry, for example, with mobile phones, as it can be tuned to recognize a persons face. It can therefore replace the current face ID recognition systems which are very battery draining and an eco-friendly alternative. • Very futuristic with many application to come!

LIVE PRODUCT PLACEMENT USING AI. #AI

#Productplacement

#Automatic

• This solution delivers scalable advertising modules integrated in existing premium content. The concept is based on emotionally intelligent advertising powered by AI. • According to several standards, the AI analyses when and where the advertising campaign is best placed. This criteria takes into consideration nature of the scene, visibility etc., The technology then, automatically adds the advertising content to the program/film. • For example, advertiser's messages might appear as billboards, posters, mobile or TV content and might be combined with other messages displaying the brand's product, all digitally rendered to be contextually relevant and to blend naturally with the content.

OOHO EDIBLE WATER BOTTLES #Bottle

#Plasticfree

#Biodegradable

• Ooho is an edible, tasteless and biodegradable membrane made from seaweed that can be used to contain water and other liquids in a small ‘bubble’. • As well as being edible, the material degrades in the natural environment within 6 weeks– compared to plastic bottles which take up to 400 years to decompose. • The key ingredient is sodium alginate, a natural gelling powder sourced from algae. The sodium alginate gels when mixed with calcium. It's a common alternative to gelatin, used in sweets and other foods. • The Ooho material is being trialled as a replacement for small ‘on the go’ water bottles, fruit juices, sauces and condiments as well as for hydration in sporting events such as the London Marathon.
