MARS WRIGLEY'S SMILEY SHOPRITE CANDY ROBOT

❑ Mars Wrigley, the company behind Mars, Snickers or M&Ms chocolates has a new product, and it is not a chocolate bar. It is Smiley, a robot that wanders around supermarkets in New York, trying to interact with consumers to get them to buy its chocolate bars. ❑ But it also has another function, that of collecting data on shopping preferences in the store. Not only the robot is filled with chocolates so that consumers can make impulse purchases while it interacts with them, but it is also equipped with LiDAR equipment that allows it to drive autonomously and at the same time detect objects and people around it.

❑ As a result, when it encounters people, it briefly chases them and tries to interact with them by playing sounds or reacting to consumer actions.

AMAZON FRESH: THE ‘TILLLESS’ STORE LANDS IN LONDON

❑ The first Amazon Fresh store recently opened its doors in the UK, and it shares a tech-fueled experience that helps people skip the lines and “just walk out.”

❑ Within the store, customers must use the Amazon app with their mobile device and items are automatically added to their cart so that they can be charged to the associated Amazon account. ❑ With this technology, the store is introducing people to the concept of “just walk out shopping” with in-store signage. The shop also serves as a place where people can pick up preordered items and Amazon parcels.

With Nike Refurbished, Nike Is Launching Its Own Reselling Business

❑ Nike Refurbished is the brand's own adaptation of the circular supply chain and the program is kicking off in 15 stores in the United States.

❑ Sneakers that are gently worn or slightly imperfect will be refurbished and then sold in-store at reduced prices. There will be three kinds of shoes that qualify for the program: like new, gently worn or cosmetically flawed, meaning there are slight manufacturing imperfections or factory flaws detectible in the design. ❑ This circular consumer program helps to give new life to Nike sneakers that are already out in the world, and it reduces waste where possible. ❑ Shoes that are too worn or have factory flaws will be donated or recycled into Nike Grind, a composite material that is used in the uppers and soles of new Nike sneakers. The 'Prescription Paper Pill Bottle' is 100% Compostable

❑ The 'Prescription Paper Pill Bottle' has been designed by Tikkun Olam Makers as an alternative medication packaging options that would replace polypropylene plastic varieties that presently dominate the market. ❑ The packaging is achieved with a completely paper-made construction that is 100% compostable, biodegradable and suitable for going back into the ground after use. ❑ The pill packaging also features an anti-tampering design to keep children out that would require pressure to be applied evenly to both sides to gain entry. ❑ The 'Prescription Paper Pill Bottle' is completely plastic-free and features an open-source design that adheres to the regulations laid out by the FDA when it comes to durability, water, light and child resistance. Chromavis launches Atelier, their "tailoring boutique" for make-up creation ❑ Italian makeup manufacturer Chromavis created a makeup boutique called Atelier that's devoted to creating products in small quantities, in Offanengo, Italy. This "tailoring boutique" for makeup helps to create customized products in small batches for consumers, as well as rapid prototypes for quick launches. ❑ As the company describes, the site offers a unique and immersive experience that gives customers the freedom to" shape a single product or a full make-up line in one day, bringing it to market in three weeks." ❑ To support an abundance of choice, the formulas are matched with suitable packaging and a graphic designer is also available to customers. Chromavis’ Atelier has the potential to serve digital brands, celebrities, indie brands and more.
