Greetings from your LTG

Volume 1 Issue 8

Well Division 8, its almost time for me to say goodbye to all of this and graduate and

In this issue!

close this chapter of my life. Almost. I still have a few days left, and I know I am busier than ever preparing for Convention an doing school work and the like. The pace, and stress, of my life has definitely picked up and I find the days are getting shorter and the number of things I have to do just keeps getting larger, but I just try and take everything one step at a time. As long as I keep moving forward, it doesn’t matter how slowly I go, only that I go. I am ecstatic to see everyone at Convention at the end of this week, and hope to see many more of you at any number of upcoming events. If you are going to Convention, please feel free to stop me and talk to me, I would love to get to know you better.

CMRFs are due the 10th of every month!

2014 Keyport Kiwanis Fish Fry On March 5, the Keyport Kiwanis had their annual Fish Fry, which is held every year, on Ash Wednesday. Members of the local Boy Scout Troop, Keansburg Key Club, and Keyport Key Club teamed up with members of the Kiwanis club to help serve people meals consisting of fried fish and French fries. There was also cake for dessert! The Fish Fry is one of my favorite events of the year because it is actually a service based project, as opposed to a fundraiser based one that Key Clubs tend to do all the time.

Divisional News 2014-2015 LTG Tara Engelken

At the end of this week, March 30, 2014 to be exact, I will be handing my position over to the next lieutenant governor of our division, Tara Engelken. Having known her for several years now, I can honestly say she will do an amazing job in the position. She is motivated, hard working, and enthusiastic about serving others. A junior at the Marine Academy of Science and Technology, she will absolutely have her hands full between dealing with school work, Key Club, and everything else she may want to do in her Senior Year. But I know for a fact she can handle it. In the coming weeks she will be introducing herself to all of you so you can begin working with her for the 2014-2015 service year. I look forward to seeing her help this division grow in the coming year!

NJ CKI DCON Two weekends ago, I got to go to the New Jersey Circle K District Convention. It was a remarkable experience that I am grateful to have experienced. I met some amazing Kiwanians and Circle K’ers while there and really got an inside look at how this next level of our K-Family works. While there convention was very different from how our convention runs, it was still great to see how everyone still comes together even outside Key Club. There is a much stronger bond between the Circle K Alumni and Circle K’ers at their Convention, which is interesting to watch. To all my seniors who are going to college in New Jersey, join a Circle K at your school, or build one at your school if they don’t have one. The New Jersey District of Circle K International would love to have you!

We’re only days away from our 68th annual New Jersey District Convention! I can’t wait to see everyone gathered together at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch New Jersey. I think that this year’s convention may be the best yet! For everyone going to Convention, please make sure you take a look at my DCON Newsletter I published earlier last week. It has everything you need to have a great Convention experience, including packing lists, and guides and everything you need to know! Also make sure you pack something blue for the Friday Nigh casual dance, “Le Club Blu”. Show your support for the Eliminate Project by wearing blue. Also be sure to bring some extra money and your DCON Shakers to help out the Eliminate Project and vy for the coveted Spirit Stick!
