THE GALLERY DEMOCRATIZING ART AND SELLING THE WORLD’S LARGEST COLLECTION OF FLORAL ART | BY JAMES ES SEX
W
hy do we as a society love artwork that depicts beautiful flowers? From Ambrosius Bosschaert’s classic 1617 work — Still Life with Flowers — to Andy Warhol’s more modern pop-focused Flowers, centuries of art lovers have flocked to museums to view such simple and elegant subjects. For some the appeal might be in how flowers have influenced our lives. Who hasn’t pined for the smell of Spring’s first bloom after a long winter hibernation? For others maybe they enjoy all the ways an artist can represent a flower. Flowers symbolize both love or heartbreak, fertility or decay, purity or promiscuity, and even life or death. I love floral art because of the sense of calm it can bring to a room. The depictions of blossoms and blooms offer an emblem of hope that can bring a smile to my face on even the darkest day. Maybe that’s why floral artwork is seeing such a resurgence in popular culture? Unfortunately, finding beautiful floral photography and prints has been quite the challenge for art collectors in recent years. Yes, you can easily find a floral patterned iPhone case. But locating the perfect floral image that suits your particular artistic tastes can be difficult. It seems as if there are only a few real options available to collectors. You can either purchase extremely limited runs of a very small handful of prints or large format one-offs at an exorbitant price or you can buy a mass produced print from a museum’s gift shop. Those have been your only options and neither are great. This was the constant struggle I faced as a collector and it wasn’t until recently that I was finally introduced to a gallery that would change how I purchased my art — Lumas Gallery. Founded by Stefanie Harig and Alexander Ullrich after a chance encounter with a photograph dealer at an antique market, the pair went on to create the world’s first “democratized” art photography gallery. Based around the idea that art should be for everyone, Lumas’ goal has been “to make top quality art attainable for all those who are interested in it.” For Lumas, buying art shouldn’t be difficult. 12 | UPSCALELIVINGMAG.COM | WINTER 2022
You should be able to find the style you want from a well established artist at a price point you’re happy with paying. I think this is why they’ve been so wildly successful. Lumas currently has twenty-four locations worldwide and plays host to over two-hundred-and-fifty established artists. While the in-person galleries are stunning, most art lovers will be drawn to Lumas’ online space. They offer a wide variety of themes and styles — which include city scapes, people, animals, landscapes, and of course flowers. Lumas may actually have the world’s largest online floral collection. Whether you’re interested in the traditional themes of Annet Van Der Voort’s Vantas X or something more abstract like Daniel Maria Thurau’s Wild at Heart, Lumas offers flower focused art for every taste and price point. Plus, many of the pieces they offer online are limited edition runs that are hand signed by the artist, which give their collection that extra touch of sophistication. I have purchased several different pieces as gifts for friends and family and as accent pieces to spruce up various rooms in my home. If I had to pick a favorite from their collection it would have to be Marc Quinn’s 50x33, Summer Skating on the Thames. I’ve never had such a simple piece receive so many compliments. I love the way the colors interact with one another as well as the feeling I get every time I see the strawberries in the foreground. I’m brought back to my favorite boyhood memory of the joy I’d feel when finding fresh ripened strawberries in the woods. The whole print is both irresistible and alluring and it serves as the perfect overstimulation needed when life turns cold and the plant life around me retreats in the face of a cruel winter. If you’re looking for your next perfect print or piece of photography I would highly recommend stopping in at Lumas’ online shop to see if they have something for you. I promise you’ll find some piece of happy art that will brighten your home just as it has brightened mine.

HYPERCARS | BY somnath chatterjee
Despite tighter emission rules and increasing legislations, the hypercar is alive and kicking with numerous entrants waiting in the wings. 2022 is going to be filled with hypercars pushing forward the relentless quest for speed and technology. Most take solace from electricity with a complex hybrid power train boosting power to unheard levels. Join us for a tour of the most explosive set of automotive metal set to hit our roads next year.

Aston Martin Valkyrie The Valkyrie goes as fast as it looks. It is nothing more than a road going jet fighter with a tax disc stuck on. The Valkyrie is a stunning hypercar with a limited production run of coupes and an even smaller run of the Spider version. The Valkyrie is a labor of love with 2000 man hours required in its production and of course the 6.5-liter V-12 1,139 hp V12 when coupled with the hybrid system makes it one of the fastest cars ever. If you can even call it a ‘car’. The Valkyrie would be tailor made for each buyer including an F1- like driving position. Price? $3.2 million but don’t fret as they are all sold out.

Gordon Murray Automotive T50 The father of the McLaren F1- easily the greatest hypercar ever made- is back. This time he has honed and perfect his recipe but the at heart there remains a 100% bespoke 3.9-litre, 663PS V12 engine that revs to a record-breaking 12,100rpm. There is no electricity involved with a pure V12 engine along with a ‘jet-fighter’ style seating position plus a six-speed manual transmission of course. The T.50’s kerb weight of 986kg makes it the lightest amongst its hypercar peers while its attention to detail plus the driver focus is what makes this different. Despite its $2.1 million each price, all 106 units are sold. | Photo courtesy of Gordon Murray Automotive/Niki Lauda

Mercedes-AMG Project One The AMG Project One is basically an F1 car for the road with the exact same power train and that sounds utterly ludicrous. However, AMG’s agenda is to disrupt the hypercar game and putting an F1 engine pretty much is the strongest way to do so. Of course, making an F1 engine work on a road car with emission regulations has been a challenge but the One hypercar will make it to production this year. The F1-spec 1.6 liter V6 hybrid engine develops over 1,000bhp while the 218mph top speed and a 0-124mph of six seconds will mean owners can be as quick as a F1 car but without the challenging driving environment. It’s also nearly sold out with 275 units in production at a price of $2.72 million.

The Jesko- named after Jesko von Koenigsegg, the father of company Founder and CEO, Christian von Koenigsegg, is an insanely powerful hypercar with a twin-turbo V8 engine producing 1280hp on regular gasoline and 1600hp with E85 fuel. It also looks like a starship enterprise for the road with its razor sharp styling and utterly bonkers active double-profile rear wing. Also unique is the Light Speed Transmission, a 9-speed multi-clutch unit that does away with traditional synch rings and makes changes between

Pagani C10 Pagani has carved its own niche in the hypercar game with its stunning craftsmanship and details along with a soulful V12. Its new hypercar is also one of the last to have a V12 before electrification eventually takes over. The new Pagani hypercar follows an evolutionary design approach with similarities to the current Huayra. The V12 with twin turbos would be updated but the real deal would be a rumored choice between a stick shift and an automatic gearbox. The old school hypercar is not dead it seems!

It also looks fast with its dihedral doors providing the hypercar theatre. A 250 miles range also means this EV has enough performance and some amount of practicality. However, with each costing $2 million plus- it ain’t your regular boring EV but something far more exotic.

Introducing the
LAUREATO CHRONOGRAPH ASTON MARTIN EDITION | BY NIKITA VIVEK PAWAR
B
ack in the early 1900s, various colours were assigned to racing cars to distinguish the different nationalities of the teams. As a result, French cars were presented in blue, Italian cars were famously red, Belgian cars were yellow, German cars were silver, and British cars were dressed in British Racing Green. As a British marque, Aston Martin adopted green as its racing colour, with the most famous example being the Aston Martin DBR1 that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1959. Since then, Aston Martin’s racing colour has remained green. Hence, the latest collaboration between the British marque and Girard-Perregaux in the ultra-luxury marques’ traditional Racing Green colourway. The partnership was first revealed in early 2021. Indeed, a genuine friendship formed between Girard-Perregaux and Aston Martin led to creating a new timepiece, the Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition. Its styling masterfully plays with shapes, textures, and light, tailored to those who appreciate luxury and performance. Collectively, the two companies have over 330 years of amassed knowhow, which is evident when appraising both firms’ creations. However, while they respect their heritage, they share a resolutely forward-thinking outlook. Its dial is imbued with a delightfully decadent application of what is now known as “Aston Martin Green”, achieved by painstakingly applying paint twenty-one times to the dial, forming seven distinct layers of paint as a result. The automotive influences also encompass crosshatching, a diamond-like pattern first seen with the ultra-luxury car manufacturer’s ‘AM’ logo (1921 – 1926). This motif
was also inspired by the quilted seats found in the British brand’s numerous high-performance sports cars. Patrick Pruniaux, CEO of Girard-Perregaux, said, ‘Our Manufacture has a long history of collaborations, beginning with our founder Jean-François Bautte who brought different “établisseurs” together under one roof, effectively creating one of the first Manufactures as we know them today. Not only has our partnership with Aston Martin yielded two exceptional timepieces, but it is also indeed a meeting of the minds and marks the beginnings of a true friendship between both brands and our teams. The Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition is evidence of that mutual understanding and shared philosophy.’ Three counters grace the dial, two chronograph registers and a small seconds display. Each counter features a partially open-worked hand, perpetuating the design of the hour and minute hands. The central section of each counter is snailed. A date display is positioned at 04:30, completing the inventory of functions. Sporting an octagonal bezel, the profile of this model honours the watch brand’s iconic Laureato of 1975. Marek Reichman, Aston Martin Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, added: ‘As Aston Martin and Girard-Perregaux strengthen our partnership, the same is happening with our common design ethos, geared towards discreet luxury. Evidence of it continues to appear in subtle touches throughout the watch, for instance, in its partially open-worked hour
and minute hands, which have been purposely designed to evoke thoughts of racing cars, eschewing extraneous material to deliver superior performance. Likewise, the central chronograph seconds hand features a counterweight that resembles the sides strakes first seen on the 1958 Aston Martin DB4.’ Upholding Girard-Perregaux’s design philosophy, the case masterfully plays with different shapes. The numerous curves, facets and lines, along with satin-finished and polished edges, collaborate and deliver a fantastic play with light. A pane of sapphire crystal, positioned to the rear of the watch, affords sight of the automatic, Manufacture movement, the Calibre GP03300-0141, marking the first time a Laureato Chronograph features an open case back. Based on the highly regarded Calibre GP03300, this movement is endowed with Côtes de Genève, in both circular and straight forms, polished sinks, thermally blued screws, and perlage. The movement also bears the eagle emblem, signifying it is an in-house calibre. The watch is housed in a 42mm 904L stainless steel case. This particular steel grade is less common than 316L and is costlier due to the relative benefits, including superior corrosion resistance, improved scratch resistance, and a much brighter, luxurious appearance. The use of 904L stainless steel extends to the bracelet, which is enriched with a satin-brushed finish. The Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition, a limited edition of 188 pieces, is immediately available worldwide in all authorised Girard-Perregaux retailers.

The brand has also commissioned pieces for the European and Middle Eastern royal along with international style icons like Princess Diana, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Marella Agnelli. The Creative Director, the designer brought his designs to the United States in 2014. Post his demise in February 2019, Kasliwal’s children, Shalini and Samir took the reign of his brand. The duo unveiled their first collection titled ‘Bloom’ based on the final

sketches of their father they discovered last year. Sanjay Kasliwal was immensely inspired by his home-town Jaipur and channelized the city’s architecture, colors and beauty into his designs. The collection draws inspiration from the Rajasthani capital’s intricate details, gigantic monuments and colorful flora and fauna. The designer’s daughter, Shalini is based in New York while her brother Sameer overseas the Gem Palace in Jaipur. “Bloom exactly represents what nature means to me: harmony of shapes and symphony of colors,” said Shalini Kasliwal.

The 26-piece collection comprises the Pink City’s grandeur, tranquility and sophistication and modern aesthetic and setting. The collections render to the larger than life archways of the Amber Fort, the earrings resemble the Tecomella tree commonly found throughout Rajasthan. The collection is a stunning line of rings, bracelets, necklaces and earring set with Mozambican rubies, Zambian emeralds, Sri Lankan sapphires and Tahitian pearls all of which are hand-crafted in the Gem Palace Workshop. The company craftsmen have been with the establishment for generations and still use the same Indian jewelery-making techniques. “It was such a pleasant surprise to stumble upon these sketches from my father,” said Shalini Kasliwal in a statement. “His talent was simply unmatched with no detail ever going unlooked. He had an affinity for magnificent stones and grandiose designs, which is very much reflected in his last collection. When my brother and I found the sketches, we had an immediate desire to bring his creations to life and couldn’t think of a more appropriate way to honor him.” The $17,500 Juhi ring recreates the magic on dewdrops on a leaf with a 4.24-carat emerald off-set with diamonds on either side. The Udaya necklace set is a quadruple strand of tanzanite and emerald beads with a pair of matching floral earrings while the Harshika necklace features over 1,000 carats of rubellites that are exquisitely strung with pearls. Bloom also consists of stunning cocktail rings, elegant gem-set drop earrings such as the Zaara rubellite earrings that have a hint of Indian tradition in the contemporary setting. The Bicolored gemstones are cut into traditional Indian shapes to create beads, cabochons and traditional solitaire cuts. The rings mostly have diamond pavé while other pieces are paired with diamonds in baguette cuts. The Bloom collection is available at www. sanjaykasliwal.com.

MUNICIPAL An Elevated Brand for Today’s Lifestyle | BY DAMON M. BANKS
L
ife is often one large juggling act with our jobs, families, friends and other responsibilities. For many, this juggling act has become more intense since the pandemic, but we adjust and make it work. HBO Max’s six-episode documentary series gives us an inside look at how Mark Wahlberg juggles his own demands on a daily basis. Wahl Street gives us a glimpse at the delicate balance Wahlberg maintains with his film schedule paired with his growing number of businesses. MUNICIPAL is at the center of this series as he and his partners manage the company while also navigating a pandemic that provides an entirely new dynamic to businesses today. The number of fans behind MUNICIPAL grows daily so this dream team partnership is obviously working. The partnership consists of Mark Wahlberg who manages his film career, a production company and several other businesses; Stephen Levinson who has been a longtime friend of Wahlberg and partner on numerous ventures for more than 20 years; and Harry Arnett who came into this partnership with more than 10 years in the golf industry, including his previous position as EVP at Callaway Golf. Several things are very obvious when talking to these three very large personalities: their dedication to this brand is inspiring; and their passion for creating smart clothes that everyone needs is driving them to continue thinking outside the box and pushing the envelope of fashion. “We started MUNICIPAL because we want everyone to buy into the fact that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to with hard work. And we fully believe and stand by that,” said Mark Wahlberg. MUNICIPAL is based around Sport Utility Gear, which is a line of apparel that is super comfortable, functional and versatile. It is designed so you can get through your day – literally you can do anything in it.
The brand is very personal to each of the partners, which is seen by them wearing MUNICIPAL as they juggle their own daily responsibilities while finding a balance o f working hard and playing h ard. As is the name, MUNICIPAL. This is a community… a place w here so many grew up, whether it was a basketball court, golf course or pool. From the moment Wahlberg met Arnett, these two have bonded over so many of the values they both live and breathe daily: creativity, positivity, hustle, self-belief and character. Everyone in this partnership believes in working hard while constantly striving to improve and reach their ultimate potential. For so many of us getting to know them, and getting to know MUNICIPAL, these traits are seen in every piece of clothing Residence 63. Photo courtesy of Steelblue they produce. 34 | UPSCALELIVINGMAG.COM | WINTER 2022
“It’s the clothes you wear 95 percent of the time in the gym, at home, at work… It’s orientated around the inclination to move, literally and as a metaphor,” said Harry Arnett. Not only will we see the brand continue to expand their current offerings, but it sounds like they will also be launching a women’s line in 2022. With this dream team working tirelessly behind-the-scenes to further develop MUNICIPAL, I know I speak for many of us when I say that I am excited to see more from this fun, casual, smart and quality brand. municipal.com

T
he famous designer from Cordoba returns in person to the Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris, with a proposal that invites us to get excited about Spring again.
Inspired by Spring, Reborn is a parallelism with the force that nature has to come back to life. Very elaborate fabrics, sometimes embroidered silk organza that is cut and, with a wiring system, creates flowers that sprout from the garments, nature in full explosion. “As a fighter and optimistic woman, I wanted this collection to be a tribute to the ability that we are having a society to adapt to the uncertainty in which we navigate”, says Juana Martin. The designs have the unmistakable stamp of the firm: extra-large volumes in organza, guipure and lace, all in black, white and beige colors as back-
ground. A differentiating touch, the black and silver studs are defined in its flamenco polka dot, in a more glamorous and rocker version. The Reborn looks are complemented by five models from VOA Collective, the high-end eyewear brand that stands out for its avant-garde designs, made exclusively by artisans in Japan. This is the eighth time that the designer has presented at the City of Light and the fourth within the Haute Couture Week in Paris. Juana Martin reaffirms herself as one of the most important names in Spanish fashion on the international scene, both for her renown style and for her ability to work with unique fabrics and extreme structures with their own personality.

Q+A with Daniela Fanzoj THE ART OF THE GUN | BY JAMES ES SEX
38 | UPSCALELIVINGMAG.COM | WINTER 2022
GADGETS
What makes something a work of art? This is a question I’m constantly asking myself when I encounter luxury goods designed with beauty in mind. Until recently I had always believed that there were certain things that could never be considered art. For example, I never thought you could turn a modern firearm into a work of art. Well, until I stumbled upon Johann Fanzoj’s masterful weaponry art.
T
he Art of the Gun, as they call it, melds utility and beauty into a firearm that is not only an artistic project but also a status symbol. Much like the grand complication and tourbillon watches of luxury Swiss manufactures, Johann Fanzoj has brought a similar elegance and refinement to the firearm. No detail is overlooked and no expense is spared in the creation of their one-of-a-kind pieces. I loved their work so much that I recently sat down with Director’s Daniela and Patrick Fanzoj to discuss the art of their guns, the company’s history, and their most recent creation — the Leopard collection.
Johann Fanzoj was established in 1790 and you’re still currently run by the same family. How have you maintained the classic heritage established by your ancestors while modernizing for the 21st century? Thank you, that is a very important question. We are the only luxury gun-making firm that has taken up the challenge of attempting to combine the past and present through the use of traditional skills paired with state-of-the-art materials and technology. Traditional skills enable us to naturally envision and develop most individual solutions while modern technology supports a high contemporary performance in our items. Combining old world gun production methods with modern manufacturing enables us to literally strive for perfection and spend the most amount of time on finely regulating our mechanical items, just like one would with a Swiss watch. This kind of manufacturing process also allows us to preserve all the old crafts that are close to extinction. Engravers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, and leather makers all use our firearms as a canvas for their art and the combination of their traditional methods with our modern methods give life to one another.
Tell me a bit about your company, Johann Fanzoj Our company was established in 1790 in Ferlach, Austria, and we look back on a proud tradition of fine firearms craftsmanship that we’ve upheld for eight generations. We are still family owned and while we hold firm to our rich heritage of traditional skills and old-world knowledge, we are also bringing a remarkably new vision to this ancient craft. Today we fascinate collectors worldwide by blending our classic values and high-aesthetics with unprecedented technical sophistication. We only produce a small number of exclusive hunting guns and rifles each year and our model range includes shotguns and rifles – both single, double, bolt actions, and multi-barreled combinations. We also offer individual commissions and concepts — all of which are designed, engineered, and built entirely in our workshop to meet our clients’ visions. What is the inspiration behind melding art and weapons designs? Weaponry art is one of humanity’s oldest forms of individual expression and elaborately decorated weapons have always had strong symbolic meanings throughout history. So the inspiration behind our designs was a way to honor our collective cultural memory, as well as a way to preserve our traditional knowledge for future generations. Today, the five-hundred year old art of gun-making in Ferlach is listed as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage because we’re passing on fragile knowledge and craftsmanship skills to a new generation. But more importantly, we’ve taken the idea of guns and art to a new dimension. Never before have artistic projects on weapons been so carefully crafted and carried out down to the smallest detail. We manufacture exceptional mechanical masterpieces and use them as a canvas for capturing stories about life, death, passion, hunting, and nature — all themes which appear unmasked as in no other métier. Our firearms are true objects of culture and value, masterpieces in the true sense of the word that honor what has come before and preserve that which may still be lost.
Clients today expect a luxury crafts firm to go beyond reviving past ideas. They want to see sparks of creativity in the product and they want to be drawn into the process of co-creating something personal, precious, and unique. That is our perception of luxury and how we honor our heritage while modernizing for our clients. You speak of ultra-customized pieces, can you walk us through the process of what that entails? Each item we build is unique. We can’t build more than twenty pieces per year. The big projects like “The Great Migration”, DRACON, and The Leopard Set take several years to complete. We usually create those 39 | UPSCALELIVINGMAG.COM | WINTER 2022

What sets Johann Fonzoj apart from other weapon artisans? Our continuous exploratory mindset; our inert curiosity and creativity; and our great wish to create items of timeless aesthetics which outperform ourselves with each new project. Our big theme projects transcend the mere idea of “decoration”. We explore symbolism through our artistry. Life-and-death, predator-and-prey, black-and-white. All are themes we associate with hunting and they’re expressed through the opulence of our pieces and the excellent craftsmanship only Johann Fanzoj can provide. 07 Is there anywhere else our readers can learn more about your firearms? BOMBARDIER CHALLENGER 3500 Midzide Jet that comes with more sustainable luxury | BY SOMNATH CHAT TERJEE
T
he pandemic has increased the demand for private aviation along with added concerns regarding safety along health. Demand for private jets has increased and the midsize jet segment has seen further demand along with new competition brewing in the skies. Bombardier has been a popular name and its Challenger series has been its mainstay. The Challenger 350 has been a staple in the Super Mid-size Business Jet space. However, no competition from Embraer, Gulfstream, and Citation means the new Challenger 3500 has loads of competition to fend off. The name itself shows the evolution of this aircraft and a lot of technology has been added in. Crucial to the times we live in, the new Challenger 3500 also comes with sustainability built into its core DNA. This next-generation midsize aircraft comes with a redesigned cabin along with giving options to its owners to design the interior with sustainable materials. Also, a lot of the luxury features seen on the bigger Challenger 7500 have made their way into the 3500 too. The well-being of the environment and reducing carbon footprint is crucial and is now a part of the buyer’s demands along with more comfort. One of the highlights of the new cabin includes the patented Nuage seat now added here. These seats feature a deep recline, a tilting headrest along a floating base. Other changes include a reduced cabin altitude of 4,850 ft at 41,000 ft- meaning a marked 31% improvement when compared to its predecessor. There are new luxury amenities added in since owners want such features. Chief of which includes the industry’s first voice-controlled
cabin to manage lighting, temperature, and entertainment systems along with the first wireless chargers throughout the cabin and a 24-inch, 4K display. This display is also the largest in its class. Other changes include more haptic-style buttons and less clutter. In terms of sustainability, Bombardier claims that the Challenger 3500 aircraft will have an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) in an effort to reduce the aircraft’s life cycle environmental footprint. A new eco app with tools to optimize flight plans and reduce fuel burn is also there. “We are thrilled to launch a business jet that features all the best-selling elements of the Challenger platform – an impressive performance, consistent reliability, exceptional smooth ride – while elevating the cabin experience for our customers,” said Éric Martel, President, and Chief Executive Officer, Bombardier. “Building on the success of the unrivaled Global 7500 business jet cabin, the Challenger 3500 aircraft prioritizes what our customers value most: a truly exceptional cabin experience.” Expect an Entry-into-service by the second half of 2022 and it is clear that this new jet follows in the footsteps of the flagship Global 7500. You can seat 10 passengers in luxury while the environmentally conscious buyer will also approve along with a price-tag similar to the earlier 350. It is clear that Bombardier wants to maintain the lead and appeal of the 3500 and the extra features do sweeten the deal further. Overall, the Challenger 3500 does stake a claim at midsize business jet honors. . 53 | UPSCALELIVINGMAG.COM | WINTER 2022

SINGITA LEBOMBO MASTERFULLY CHIC, YET INTRINSICALLY WILD | BY HELÉNE R AMAC K E R S
In the southeasternmost reaches of South Africa’s famed Kruger National Park sits a lodge that speaks to the soul and will continue to do so for many years to come. Singita Lebombo embraces luxury, authenticity, conservation and the most sublime stay imaginable.
S
ingita has always been on my bucket list, and when the opportunity presented itself to visit Singita Lebombo with expert arrangements by Imagine PR, I started the countdown to set foot in one of the most pristine lodges that looks like it just stepped out of an architectural magazine.
Dubbed ‘Place of Miracles’, it is easy to see why. With architecture by GAPP Architects and interiors by Cécile & Boyd, this is not your traditional safari lodge in terms of color palette. Instead, there is an uprising in the mitigation of contrasts, albeit the effective use of ochres, greys and the fortification of neutrals immersed against an unparalleled backdrop of glass and steel. The sense of being perched on a hillside and suspended above the bush rings true when walking out onto your private deck, all this while enjoying a view of the N’Wanetsi River. Airy and bright, the suites offer a modern diversion with simple but striking furnishings. A soft grey mosquito net engulfs the bed, and the choice whether to have them dropped or not is yours. The bathroom offers a variety of cleansing options, with a gorgeous deep soaking tub and my favorite – the nature shower complemented with the Singita signature scent products. Open the sliding doors and really let nature in. Fancy a night under the stars in true style and comfort? Then opt for the sleepout on your deck, cocooned in the safety of your bed with the ambient sounds of lions roaring or a hyena calling in the distance lulling you into a deep slumber. Dining at Singita is an extraordinary experience and meals are created with passion and flair. The team of chefs go out of their way to ensure that your specific food choices are catered for and your banakeli (butler) is always at hand to fill your 55 | UPSCALELIVINGMAG.COM | WINTER 2022

glass or serve your beautifully plated cuisine, as Bongi did during the duration of our stay. The communal areas are dreamy, with comfortable seating, vistas as far as the eye can see and an invigorating 25-meter lap pool that is ideal for cooling off on balmy days. Game drives are always a highlight, especially in a sizable conservation area spanning in excess of 13,000 hectares. Bordering Mozambique, Singita Lebombo really puts the wild back into wildlife when it comes to sightings. Guiding and tracking duo Walter and Howard certainly know how to navigate not only the terrain but have fine-tuned the process of creating lasting memories with the most incredible animal sightings. Our drives are interspersed with big cat spottings, commencing with two leopard cubs resting on a rocky outcrop waiting for mom to return. When mom makes her appearance, they bound over to her but remain vigilant of the hyena in the area that is using his kill as a pillow. We spend time with two different prides of lions, view giraffe feeding, buffalo grazing, doe-eyed impalas scurrying away, waterbuck making a dash for it, a variety of birds against a stark silhouette and a lone elephant bull making his way through the dry riverbed. Driving through the reserve, one is awestruck by the appearance of euphorbia trees dotted amongst the dramatic Lebombo mountain range. With their exquisite portfolio of lodges and camps across Africa, Singita echoes environmentally sensitive ethos in their drive to preserve and protect the most vulnerable ecosystems for generations to come. The protection against habitat loss is a cornerstone, with initiatives pertaining to wildlife conservation, solar-based energy and carbon offsetting, as well as community partnership projects, which include early childhood development, digital learning, and three world-class culinary schools at Singita Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, Singita Serengeti in Tanzania and Singita Kruger National Park in South Africa. The unmistakable call of an African fish eagle is heard from our suite. It is our last morning at Singita Lebombo and after an ultimate game drive with lions occupying the road, followed by a hearty breakfast, my daughter and I sit outside on the deck, drinking in the final moments before it’s time to say goodbye. Leaving is never easy, especially a place such as this that has crept deep into your soul but feeling renewed in nature is a privilege not to be taken for granted. THE ROYAL SUITE BY GUCCI | BY H EL ÉN E R A M ACKERS
Celebrating its centennial, the house of Gucci teamed up with The Savoy and Christie’s to transform The Royal Suite into a celestial masterpiece. More than one hundred years since Gucci’s founder, Guccio Gucci was employed at The Savoy as a luggage porter and liftboy, his desire to start his own leather goods company has come full circle. The Savoy and Gucci are delighted to commemorate their shared history in a host of creative ways, from design features to excep-tional experiences for guests and clients. The relationship between the two was first under the spotlight upon the reveal of Gucci’s Aria Collection in April 2021, pri-vately screened locally at The Savoy. The Collection and its presentation included numerous nods to the hotel and its role in shaping Gucci’s mythology. Now, the partnership’s next iter-ation is the transformation of The Savoy’s Royal Suite into a re-flection of the Gucci world, featuring furniture, furnishings and decorative items from the Gucci Décor collection. In addition, art and antiquities from auctioneers Christie’s have been care-fully chosen to complement the aesthetic, which has been con-ceived to harmonize with the design and heritage of The Savoy. Adrien Meyer, Global Head of Private Sales at Christie’s, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to partner with two iconic luxury brands and bring our Private Sales service to guests of this great London hotel. At Christie’s, the ultimate luxury is to be surrounded by art. Together with Gucci, the Royal Suite at The Savoy will become the most exclusive place to stay in London.” All of the items in the Royal Suite added by Gucci and Chris-tie’s will be available for purchase; making the Royal Suite an exceptionally exclusive showroom, as well as one of the most luxurious hotel suites in London, with its parade of rooms span-ning the entire length of the fifth floor, giving unrivaled views over The Thames. WELLNESS
I
magine a place where steam rises from the earth, a river runs through the center of things, and people roam around in water shoes, blissed out, bodies wrapped in plush bathrobes. The only decisions they have to make on their vacation? Whether to soak in 95-degree waters or 110-degree waters. Whether to book a facial or a body scrub. This is Pagosa Springs, Colorado, a hidden gem sparkling on the western slope of the Continental Divide, at the base of the San Juan Mountains. And those robes come from the most luxurious lodging in town, The Springs Resort. The deepest geothermal hot springs in the world, heated by volcanic activity 6,000 feet below the surface, Pagosa Springs water teems with minerals—sulfate, manganese, and potassium, to name just a few. Since the Native peoples, including the Southern Ute tribe, inhabited the land and discovered the springs, bathers have sworn by the water’s healing power. Whether the springs really do “heal” or just offer a nice placebo effect, I can’t say, but The Springs Resort is such a unique and decadent retreat, it’s worth finding out for yourself. Fall and winter, when the crisp air makes soaking even more alluring, are the perfect seasons for a visit. The hot springs are open to the public, but those who stay at The Springs Resort are granted access to private pools, as well as the public ones. The vibe throughout the resort is just what you’d expect the vibe to be among people who have been relaxing in hot tubs for hours on end, gazing out at the San Juan River, maybe climbing out now and then to eat lunch or drink a beer or get a deep-tissue massage in the on-site spa.
The activities the resort offers—restorative yoga in the Wellness Studio, guided meditation, forest bathing hikes—complement the soaking experience; some even incorporate it. My favorite was Aqua Yoga, led by yoga goddess Amy Wolfe of the lifestyle blog Love, Amy. First thing in the morning, eight of us slipped into one of the private hot pools and followed her through a gentle Vinyasa series. As I stretched my arms against the lip of the pool, gazing at the river below us and the ever-present steam in the air, I fantasized about starting every day like this. I would be so calm! So limber! So healed! Casual eateries fleck the resort, perfect for hopping out of the water and grabbing a bite or a cocktail, but after a day of soaking, it’s fun to shower and venture into town. Pagosa Springs is sleepy, but it has some great food. Across the street from the resort, The Lost Cajun serves up addictive gumbo and ice-cold beers from the most famous New Orleans brewery, Abita. Thai Pagosa offers a killer Pad See Eew. If you’re in the mood for fine dining, Alley House Grill is everyone’s favorite place to go for a romantic ambiance, a char-grilled fillet mignon, and a bottle of Cabernet. And at some point you’ll want to check out the brewpub Riff Raff Brewing Company for innovative local craft beers. Be sure to tack some extra days on to the end of your trip because you won’t want to leave this magical region. Drive a few hours northwest to Telluride to see the most stunning mountains in Colorado. Or drive a few hours south and you’ll be in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where you can hit world-class restaurants and art galleries and watch those famous sunsets. Once you discover this part of the country, and Pagosa Springs in particular, you’ll fall in love with the town that exemplifies the expression “there must be something in the water.” 71 | UPSCALELIVINGMAG.COM | WINTER 2022

From where do you get inspiration for your menu? I would say from my travels, having lived in many countries around the world I like to incorporate flavors that enhance a local ingredient, an example of this would be a Porcini dish we are running as a special now, Fresh porcinis, pan-seared then grated fresh ginger, shallots and garlic are added, once cooked deglazed with Mirin and Miso, and finished with sesame seeds and Scallions. Describe the focus of the cuisine at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail. In our Modern Mountain Steakhouse Flame, we focus on the highest quality meats and seafood paired with fun unique twists, Remedy is a cool bar with amazing views, the food here is varied and approachable. How often does the menu change? We have staples that stay on year-round, these are the items that our guests expect to see every visit, with that being said, we do a fall, winter, spring, and summer menu change. What are some of the challenges and benefits to operating in a hotel? One challenge is that we are always open, 24 hours a day 7 days a week; the benefits are we have access to buy the best ingredients and have free rein with creativity and menu content. How would you describe the cuisine/culinary scene in Vail? Vail has some excellent restaurants and restaurateurs, some of the talent that ends up in Vail is just amazing.
Q+A with Four Seasons Resort and Residences in Vail, Executive Chef Simon Purvis. How did your career in the culinary arts begin? Growing up in southern England in the late ‘70s and early 80's I can honestly say that we did not have a relevant food scene, what I did have was a mother that cooked every day and a grandmother that would cook lavish meals at family gatherings, I would look forward to every meal they prepared...it all really began for me when we would go on family camping trips to France and Spain, I was in awe of the different foods we would eat and the markets we would visit, I would say that this is where my attraction to food really started. Fondest food memory? There are many… Noodles at the fish market in Tokyo, my first nasi 74 | UPSCALELIVINGMAG.COM | WINTER 2022
Are there any chefs whom you really admire or have been role models in your career? My Chef at the Caledonian Hotel, Jeff Bland, was calm, focused, and hands-on... and then Wolfgang Von Wieser, worked with him for quite a few years in three properties, just a great Chef with a calm focused presence. Least favorite ingredient to cook with. Snails, I just can't eat them. What is your signature dish? Tomorrow night’s special, I have some fresh Matsutakes coming in from the PNW and some fresh yuzu. The one kitchen tool you cannot live without. I have this old Victorinox French knife, it's sharp and versatile, can be doing lobsters one minute and then fine diced shallots the next What would your last meal be like? Create spaces for people to be themselves and allow people to operate in a genuine non-politically motivated working environment. Allowing people to fail but with positive intent. Create a space where people can dream and innovate without the yoke of pressure. Allowing people to have fun and just be natural with and to themselves. Would you provide an overview of each of the properties you oversee? Three of them are fully operating properties: two are city hotels (Houston and Seattle) and the other is our Punta Mita (pure paradise filled with Punta Mita Warriors!) the others are at various stages prior to opening: Our second property in Los Cabos known as Cabo del Sol in the corridor where the most authentic and vibrant part of the whole destination is in my humble opinion. One more in Tamarindo, the Mexican Pacific, and close to Careyes and Comala, a couple of towns with a great tradition in the Art scene in Mexico (Plastic Arts and Literature) this one is getting ready to open very soon in the first half of 2022. Another fascinating project is the new concept we are about to announce in Punta Mita: something vastly different: all I can say is this product is no-where in the Americas, and it will be up and running soon next to Four Seasons Resort in Punta Mita. A private island in Belize, and one more in the Mayan Riviera. The brand trusts me to explore these possibilities in Mexico and Latin America, and I enjoy every part of the process. It’s like uncovering the magic of the people and the space and place.
Q+A with John O’Sullivan, RVPGM Regional Vice President and General Manager at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita Sitting down with John, was one of the sincerest pleasures I have had in a very long time. His passion for life not only radiates from him but is manifested throughout the incredible resort in which he is the gatekeeper. What motivated you to begin a career in the hospitality industry? Growing up in rural Ireland, I was always absorbed by seeing tourists from different countries walking around my town and the “look” they had in their eyes; the adventure of sorts that they were on. From the age of 8, I can remember lying on my back and seeing the jet fumes of the flights from Europe flying to the US across the west coast of Ireland and wondering where they were going and what they were going to eat when they got there; and so, it started, my love for traveling which catalyzed my desire to work in Hotels from the age of 12. You have been with Four Seasons Resorts for 26 years. What is the most important lesson you have learned about which circumstances create the perfect environment for growth and success? 78 | UPSCALELIVINGMAG.COM | WINTER 2022
What is your favorite aspect about Four Seasons Punta Mita? How do you feel it differs from other properties? The property has been fully renovated, it looks fresh and updated, it is settled in the most – topographically - interesting location in Punta Mita. The true differentiating factor is our staff; our warriors who truly make the difference each and every day. We have had this team for many years, and they know how Luxury Resort Hospitality should be delivered, and they execute it at a consummate natural level. That is something only Punta Mita has in its purity. Each Four Seasons reflects the hotel’s city in the design and experience. For visitors, how is this property an extension of the Punta Mita experience? Everywhere you go within Four Seasons Punta Mita you can find something that speaks about Mexico. Its colors, its architecture, its culture, its food, its music, and everything is directed to the most iconic thing in Punta Mita: The Pacific and its sunsets. Besides that, we are located near some beautiful authentic Mexican towns, that reinforce the true Mexican experience our guests long when they come to the destination. Have you had any mentors? Who are they? I have some interesting people that punctuate my life more as role models than mentors. They would be Isadore Sharp who is the founder of Four Seasons and whose “Golden Rule” legacy is something we try and live each day with; just treat people as you wish to be treated. Richard Bran-son also intrigues me in the manner in which he operates and surrounds himself with non-like-minded people and thus increases the bandwidth of more disparate outcomes of possibilities. What is the signature philosophy that differentiates a Four Seasons Resort from any other? It is part of the brand’s DNA, every property is permanently celebrating

its Character as a Four Seasons property, its Connection to the people and place they are in, and the Craftsmanship, which refers to its people, everyone is an expert, and that closes the loop for the whole Four Sea-sons experience, that is the common denominator and that is also the variable for every property. From where do you draw your inspiration for art? Everywhere to be honest. I feel nature and energy and art is the medium in which I translate it into combining words and images. I am genuinely intrigued by the infinite possibilities of expression that art can give the universe. I also draw inspiration from having no fear about what I create. If people love it or don’t; it’s not my reason or purpose to paint. Check it out for yourself on https://www.irishartwarrior.com How has your love for painting and writing poetry complimented your career as a GM? I call it a duality of purpose, a space of co-existence and mutual respect. Art and poetry allow me to be more creative and can articulate in a range of manners. I tend to see things less in “black and white” and more colorful. I sense their co-existence allows me to be non-judgmental of people or places. Life is a blur and the symbiotic parallel existence of my career and my other life’s creative passions. Do you have a favorite spa treatment at Four Seasons Punta Mita? Our Punta Mita Tequila Stone: That´s my kind of treatment. A deep tissue massage with Tequila infusions Agave oil, and hot stones to round the experience up, not only mine but our guests´ favorite. Who would have thought an Irishman would allow tequila to be rubbed on them as opposed to being drunk! Favorite meal? First really difficult question. Food to me is almost like a good translator. The food in Mexico and its diversity truly blows my mind (and waste-line occasionally!). The regions; the richness; the simplicity; the history all contribute to a kaleidoscope of possibilities. I love the way Mexicans respect food, it’s almost religious in its preparation and execution. My philosophy would be less is more especially when dealing with pure raw materials What efforts have you undertaken regarding conservation and sustainability? Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita has been
relentlessly committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Objectives agreed by governments around the world, such as part of the 2030 Agenda. Implementing the SDGs at our resort has optimized our sense of environmental responsibility on a personal and corporate level. At Punta Mita, we believe that real change comes from the heart of the resort; that means our employees and always trying to lead by example. Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita is pleased to announce that by 2022, we will be the global pilot program for eliminating amenities in single-use plastics of hygiene products, and bottled water by replacing them with Vivreau on-site bottling systems using reusable glass bottles. The entire resort is equipped with interior and exterior LED lighting; motion sensors in basements and wardrobes; and new high-efficiency appliances in all areas. Intelligent AC units have been installed in guest rooms, which have a vacancy feature that promotes efficient energy use, and dehumidifiers that optimize the operation of the cooling system. What plans do you have for Four Seasons Punta Mita for the coming year? The quest for perfection is a journey and not a destination. A continuous commitment to redefining relevance and ensuring that every experience we create is as original and environmentally enhancing as possible. We continue to innovate through and with people.
Who is the Four Seasons Punta Mita guest? Our Punta Mita guests are curious explorers, respectful of local culture and nature, and open to learning and experiencing the destination they visit. They trust us and are prepared to try new things especially when they are delivered by the familiar faces of our amazing warriors. They take risks with us because they know they are essentially in their second home. Where is your favorite place on Earth to travel to? I have been blessed with the ability to be able to travel to 94 countries and live in 6 different countries. I have several Zen zones around the world but the country that I feel the most disconnected connection with is Nepal that I have been visiting and exploring by high altitude walking for more than 30 years. The people there are beyond authentic, honest, and open. How is Four Seasons Punta Mita unique? We are unique in a variety of ways. We are in a unique location, our facilities are unique, our culinary experiences are too. But the best part of it is our history with our guests, and residents, I always say this is the place where you arrive as a guest, leave as a friend, and return as family.
Considering the Covid-19 pandemic, what has been the biggest adjustment your property needed to make in order to ensure the safety of its guests? We had to reinforce all our protocols in our restaurants, bars, spa, pools, and in general, in all our interactions with guests. But we like to keep it safe for everyone, and we were eager to welcome our guests back, and we adapted. Our Spa Team prepared a series of touchless treatments like reiki and guided meditation sessions or the sound healing therapy with Tibetan bowls, those were such an enormous success they are still being offered. The same thing happened with our Kids and Teens activities program; we created School cations, a program that made online school available for our guests who were still attending school, and a more controlled environment for a series of activities to do after school, a worldwide success which was later adopted by other Four Seasons properties. 79 | UPSCALELIVINGMAG.COM | WINTER 2022

10 MOST EXPENSIVE WINES IN THE WORLD | BY NIKITA VIVEK PAWAR
When being classified as the “drink of the Gods”, Wine making has become an art form along with catching the fancy of the wealthiest collectors. Hence, because of its complex ingredients and making process, collectors are fighting for the rarest ones with prices reaching astronomical highs. Here, we count down the 10 most expensive wines in the world
Screaming Eagle Cabernet 1992 - $500,000 This vintage was sold at the Nappa Valley auction at an incredible price of $500,000. Therefore, it has fetched the highest price ever for a Nappa Valley wine. However, since it was sold for charity purposes, the sale was kept off the official lists but unofficially this is still a benchmark that is unrivalled.
Cheval Blanc 1947 - $305,000 One of the finest Cheval Blanc wines and also a wine which was a radical in its approach. The port-like character added to its unique appeal too while also being hailed as one of the greatest Bordeaux ever made. It was sold to an anonymous buyer ue for $303,375. 84 | UPSCALELIVINGMAG.COM | WINTER 2022
Jeroboam of Chateau Mouton-Rothschild 1945 $310,000 This 1945 vintage has a label showing a 'V' sign indicating victory in relation to the end of World War II. It is considered one of the greatest of its kind and was sold in 2006. This wine came from the vinyeards of one of the richest families too and its historical relevance along with its unique place in wine history enabled it to get such a high price.
Shipwrecked 1907 Heidsieck - $275,000 Touted as the most expensive champagne, this rare and hundred year old bottle fetched high prices for its history. It was sold at an auction held at the Ritz Carlton in Moscow and that's where one bottle of champagne ultimately fetched $275,000highest for champagne.
WINES + SPIRITS
Chateau Lafite 1869 - $230,000 At a 2010 auction, the Chateau Lafite 1869 sold for a record $230,000 and it was several times over the price it was expected to fetch. At the Hong Kong auction, an anonymous bidder bought not one but three bottles of Château Lafite at that price. Not surprising since this is another Rothschild bottle.
Chateau Margaux 1787 - $225,000 An interesting tale and the history around cements its place on our list. It is not so fortunate as the other ones on this list and the reason is that, while it was valued at $500,000, the collector took it to dinner and a waiter broke it. The insurers only paid $225,000.
Chateau Lafite 1787 - $156,450 It was sold at an auction for $156,000 in 1985 and was owned by Thomas Jefferson. The wine has been clouded in mystery about its authenticity having the initials of Thomas Jefferson. However, it that historical significance that drove up its value. This wine was not bought to be consumed but as a collectible.
Ampoule from Penfolds - $168,000 The handblown glass ampoule was the result of creating a special storage for this rare wine. Penfolds’ 2004 Kalimna Block 42 Cabernet Sauvignon is less about wine and more of an art form in itself. It is one of the most expensive wines but also one that looks stunning along with having one of the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines.
Henri Jayer, Vosne-Romanee Cros Parantoux 1999 - $136,955 Produced in France’s Burgundy wine region, this wine collection sold for $136,955 at a Hong Kong wine sale. Hence, the sale being for not just a bottle but for an entire case makes this more of a bargain than the others on the list. The lot was for 12 bottles.
Cheval Blanc St Emilion 1947 $135,125 This is one of the finest Cheval Blanc and also one of the best clarets. Plus, this vintage has been given Class A status in the Classification of Saint-Emilion wine. Only 110,000 bottles have been produced and that makes it a bit of a rarity as even less survive to this day. It has been lauded by experts for its flavor and texture.

SONOMA-CUTRER 40TH EDITION CHARDONNAY
Sonoma-Cutrer has been crafting wines since 1981 in the esteemed Russian River Valley growing region of Sonoma County, California. Today, their female-led winemaking team produces sustainable certified wines. This year’s Sonoma-Cutrer Winemaker’s Release, the 40th Anniversary Chardonnay, represents a historic collaboration between winemakers past and present. The blend pays tribute to the winery’s mastery of the single grape varietal.
LA CREMA SONOMA COAST CHARDONNAY
MARINA CVETIC TREBBIANO D’ABRUZZO DOC RISERVA
aromas of Meyer lemon, gala apple, and Jasmine are followed by flavors of pear, Cara Cara orange, and lemon meringue pie. On the palate, the 2018 wine is concentrated and juicy with a lingering finish.
is one of Italy’s greatest achievements — thanks to the work of Gianni Masciarelli who put Abruzzo’s indigenous Trebbiano grape on the map in the 1980s. This full-bodied white wine is complex, with ripe peach and apple flavors and hints of praline and vanilla. It’s incredibly balanced, and certainly a step above your average indigenous white variety. In a word: divine. ($50)

TOMMASI AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO 2016
Tommasi’s traditional approach to Amarone favors elegance and balance, with deep fruit complemented by spicy, earthy flavors. The grapes come from the family’s choicest plots in the Valpolicella Classica region. Through its commitment to quality and tradition, Tommasi has established itself as one of the principal ambassadors of Amarone in the world. A deep ruby red color, this refined wine is warm and ripe on the nose with a complex, full bodied taste of cherry notes and plum.
IL MARGONE GRAN SELEZIONE 2015 ORGANIC WINE
This wine has a well structured and complex flavor; good acidity, soft and round tannins, and a very long lasting finish. Bouquet: Notes of caramelized plums and hints of dark spices and cranberries. The wine is harvested early October by hand and the aging process is 24 months in french barriques of first and second use. Food recommendations: Beef fillet, breast of goose, roast beef, rack of lamb and wild boar.

PINOT NOIR SIDURI RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY
The nose is full of bright cherry and tart boysenberry with hints of mouth-watering nutmeg and freshly cut cedar. The palate greats you with Raspberries and black cherry with walnut and mushroom. The wine has a well rounded flavor that can stand its own or compliment food.
LA CREMA SONOMA COAST CHARDONNAY Originally called La Crema Vinera, which means “best of the vine,” has two of our favorite wines, Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and Sonoma Coast Chardonnay.
ERRÁZURIZ MAX CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2018
Handpicked and harvested in the semi-desert region of inland Aconcagua Valley, this is a Cabernet that utterly reflects where it is grown. A perfect package of fresh and savory fruits and spices within a frame of juicy and supple tannins that offer both pleasure and structure. Notes of raspberries, blackberries and cherries are accompanied by soft tone reminiscent of clove, licorice and bitter chocolate. On the palate, it is a juicy and fresh acidity that enhances the plums, blackberries, a hint of pomegranate and raspberries
E. GUIGAL CÔTES DU RHÔNE ROUGE 2017
The Guigal Côtes du Rhône Rouge offers tremendous warmth, spice and pleasure, but in a decidedly individual fashion. It is, unlike virtually every other Côtes du Rhône, based on Syrah, a Northern Rhône approach that lends greater aromatic intensity and structure, though is far more difficult and costly to produce in the Southern Rhône. This deep and dark red is intensely aromatic on the nose with black fruits and spices. Overall a complete wine, with a long finish, with elegance and finesse accompanying the abundance of fruit and well-balanced tannins.
VILLA GEMMA COLLINE TEATINE BIANCO 2020
is a taste of Abruzzo for a super affordable price! A blend of Coccociol, Pecorino, Trebbiano — three of the region’s popular grapes — the white wine offers an intense floral nose and palate balanced between green fruit and zesty minerality. It’s the type of wine you want to open to set the mood for the evening, while nibbling on cheese and charcuterie.
