AAF-Utah centers itself around one thought, progressing advertising and all of advertising-related activities within Utah. We do this through speakers that we bring in, educational events, creating excuses for all of us to get to know each other better, government lobbying, student shadow day, portfolio reviews, and through the ADDYs. The ADDYs is our flagship event. What better way to show our collective progression than to recognize those among us that are pushing creative execution with concepts that present new ways of looking at marketing problems. This AAF-Utah ADDY Winners Book reads as the gallery of celebrated work from this past year, highlighting the very best advertising work that Utah has to offer. I, for one, am impressed with the creative work that this creative community puts out. What the ADDYs cannot do is show the blood, sweat and tears shed

in the pursuit of elevated creative. This includes all of the concepts that were just the “perfect idea” that the internal or external client did not buy-off on. This includes the times that you left the office at 7 instead of 5 to refine your work. This includes the times that you left at midnight instead of 7. Creating and selling good creative is no easy task and that is one of the many reasons that winning an ADDY is so valuable. So, here’s to this year’s winners. Let’s celebrate the fine work done and push even harder for this coming year. We are collectively putting Utah on the creative map through welldeserved local, regional and national ADDY recognition. MATT SORRELL Like some sort of advertising hussy, Matt Sorrell has tromped around the US at multiple world-class advertising agencies. He’s served as art director and wannabe writer at BBDO, TBWA\Chiat\ Day, Saatch & Saatchi, Hal Riney and now Wieden + Kennedy. He’s created work for Old Spice, HBO, Foot Locker, AT&T, Sprint, Gushers, Fruit by the Foot and probably some other ones too. His parents loved every single thing he made and some of his work was also liked by hot shots at the One Show, Cannes, the Clios, LIA, CA and the Addys.

JESSICA VOLLENDORF Jessica is the Brand Design Director at Nemo Design. She’s an ace visual strategist, putting her passion to work leading multidisciplinary teams as they create the look and feel of both new and existing brands. From everyday staples like Heinz and Wrigley to beauty products like Herbal Essences and CoverGirl all the way to sportswear brands like Nike and Patagonia, her client list runs long and strong. DANIEL ANDREANI Daniel Andreani is the Executive Creative Director at I.d.e.a, a creative agency in San Diego. He leads a team of weird but driven creative folks who thrive on developing big, beautiful ideas that win national recognition, make their clients and partners super happy and generate lots of office high fives. Prior to I.d.e.a, Daniel worked as an art director, creative director and partner for agencies like TAXI, Sid Lee and BBDO. Over the years he has created awardwinning work for Red Bull, Pepsi, Chrysler, Campbell’s Soup, M&M’s, Coppertone, Dentyne Gum and J&J.
