TARA PEACH PHOTOGRAPHY When Kaitlyn and Sean met on their high school swim team in 2007, it was love at first sight so it was no surprise when they decided to tie the knot! A soft romantic color pallet of blush pinks and greys was the base to combine Kaitlyn's love of full flowers and all things vintage. Adding a touch of masculinity to the day was the cigar station at the reception and rugged Jeep getaway car. With venues that afforded such natural beauty the vision was to keep the décor simple with personal details sprinkled throughout. The ceremony took place under the beautiful arbor at Cedar Creek Winery surrounded by family, friends and the amazing Okanagan Lake views. Greeting their guests at the ceremony was a sign saying, “Welcome to our Love Story” and photos of family member's own love stories that inspired the couple. Floral arrangements at the arbor complimented the already beautiful rose gardens on site. The Hotel Eldorado played host to their reception. Again the goal was to have understated décor with lots of details and amazing florals. All the floral arrangements for the ceremony and reception were created by Kaitlyn’s mom. With chandeliers over head the couple snuggled on a loveseat at the head table that was adorned with an amazing floral garland. The guest tables were set with ivory linens, blush hemstitch napkins, crystal table number holders, votives and wooden box centerpieces full of flowers. Individual sprigs of lavender placed on the menus cards added a pop of color. The photo booth was a big hit and the DJ kept everyone on the dance floor till the wee hours. Kaitlyn and Sean enjoyed an evening filled with the love of family and friends.

TIPS we ADORE
AS a wedding planner I have the honour of being present for one of the most important days in most people’s lives. I love getting to know couples and it’s developing these relationships that gives me the most pleasure. I have become great friends with many of my clients during the planning process. I always find it interesting when the big day rolls around and I finally get to meet their wedding guests. What’s not to love about being a guest at a wedding? You get to dress up, eat fancy food, drink delicious cocktails and hang out with your friends and family in beautiful surroundings. Sounds great, right? Well, actually, I have found that not all wedding guests seem to share my opinion… at least if they do, they have a funny way of showing it! If you have an inkling that you might have invited one or two “suspect” guests then here’s a little list of acceptable and unacceptable wedding behavior that you may want to sneak under their noses some time between now and your impending nuptials…
DO Dress up! What better occasion to buy a new dress, spend ages doing your hair and make-up or get that pedicure you’ve been craving for the last six months. Boys, dust off that suit and tie; women can’t resist a man who makes an effort and looks sharp.
DON’T Ladies: wear white (obviously!). Gents: wear a golf shirt and jeans… DO Tell the bride how gorgeous she looks. It sounds obvious, but having spent more than a year thinking about what her hair and make-up is going to look like and obsessing over the perfect dress she will really appreciate those few words.
DON'T Whinge. Remarkably this happens far too often. “My drink isn’t cold enough” “it’s too hot” “the music is too loud”. Yes, perhaps the photographer at your last wedding took forever to get people organized for that group shot (and you’d rather stand in the shade until the last possible moment) but think, if everyone just followed directions cordially and swiftly, you’d all be in shot and off for a glass of champagne in no time. Relax, have fun and if you’re not enjoying it, then pretend!

Enjoy yourself! Weddings
are supposed to be fun and full of love and laughter.
Smile, be happy and have a great time!
DO Laugh at the speeches. Many a sleepless night have gone into crafting the perfect speech (with the exception of the odd best man who wrote it in the bathroom an hour before dinner). so that you’ll laugh and cry in exactly the right places. Okay, not everyone is a great public speaker, but do them a favour and laugh when you’re supposed to; it’ll give them the confidence to make it through to the end. Even better, buy them a shot before they start!
DON'T Talk through the speeches. Sheryl, on your right, is finding the details of your last trip to Mexico incredibly

I have been incredibly fortunate to be part of many weddings where these indiscretions have been few and often only overheard by my staff and I. LOVE IS IN THE AIR AT SANCTUARY GARDENS WRITTEN BY KRISTEN WAGNER :: PHOTOS BY KIRSTIN WAKAL
What is a sanctuary? For some, it might be a place they where they can escape the world; a refuge. For others, it might be a holy place. Some may think of a natural setting, a place where wildlife is untouched by human hands. Sanctuary Gardens is a sanctuary in every sense of the word. It’s a place for meditation and contemplation. It’s a place where wildlife roams – wild sage scents the air, and deer, owls and hawks watch quietly. From the timber frame gazebo perched in a patch of natural meadow grass, there is a panoramic view of Gellatly Bay on Lake Okanagan.

She shares her success with the community by referring her many out-of-town couples to local businesses for their other wedding needs. Giving back is an important part of her business model. Not only does a portion of the funds from every wedding go to a charity of the couple’s choice, Kirstin has started her own charitable initiative called Treasured Hearts. LINDSAY GEE PHOTOGRAPHY Jessica and Brenton's day started with a traditional ceremony at St Michaels Cathedral. They chose the perfect spring color palette of pinks, purples and creams to help create the mood for their special day. The forest backdrop for portraits provided a fun break before the classic reception held at the Harvest Golf Club. A stunning array of florals from Passionate Blooms and a variety of fine china pieces supplied by the brides mother were the classic touches to top off a beautiful day.

FIR ST MEET ING
Megan and I met on Savary Island, BC. Our families both spend a couple of weeks each summer on the island, we met when we were kids during summer vacation and continued to see each other every year for a couple of weeks before we finally started dating in our 20's.
I met Keith as a child during summer family vacations at Savary Island on the Sunshine Coast.

FIR ST DAT E Our friend Hillary had a party at her cabin on Savary Island when we were teenagers.
Keith and I knew each other a long time before we actually started dating. So I’d have to say our first “date” was when we decided that we wanted to get to know each other off of the island. I came to Vancouver for the weekend from Edmonton (where I was living) and Keith took me to Cactus Club.

There was always something special about Megan, even though I only saw her a couple of weeks each year she was someone who I thought about often and who was always special to me. After we finally started dating in our 20's I realized very quickly that I was going to marry her, it only took me a couple of weeks to figure that out.
I would spend every waking moment with Keith and I didn’t get annoyed with anything he did, which usually happens quite quickly for me. Keith is the most patient and understanding person so it made it very easy to know he was “the one.”walking beside me through life.

DIY with ADORE
SUPPLIES Yarn - color(s) of your choice Scissors Birch Branch (or any branch shaped material you choose) Twine
1. Trim birch branch down to selected length, I cut mine to 4 feet.
2. Cut a 3.5 feet piece of twine and tie it on about 3 inches in from each end of the branch. This is what you will use to hang your branch on the wall.
3. Cut a variety of yarn into roughly 8 foot long pieces and fold in half. Pre-cutting the yarn will save you lots of time!
4. To attach the yarn strands, bring the loop of yarn behind the branch, pull around the front and then place the ends through the loop, pulling tight to create a slip knot. Create your color blocking pattern from here. This will give you a better idea of how much yarn you need to cut for each portion!
5. Grab a cup of tea or a glass of wine and begin attaching yarn strings in sequence from one end to the other.
6. Add some knots or braids; be sure to do so before you trim the yarn, otherwise those pieces will end up too short!
7.
Once the branch is filled, finish by
trimming to your desired length or shape. Not all yarn will line up, but I found it easier to decide on my pattern at the end when I could see what areas were longer or more filled than others.
8. Finish by hanging it up and enjoy it as a bridal shower, bachelorette or ceremony backdrop. SPRING 2015
