KATIE NUGENT PHOTOGRAPHY The thing you need to know about Erin and Rob is very simple: when they do something it is with intention, creativity but mostly with love. So it comes as no surprise that the theme of their wedding weekend was built around love. They are both free spirits and hippies at heart and wanted their wedding day to reflect a sense of freedom and celebration. Erin grew up on an acreage in south east Kelowna and also wanted the day to reflect her roots and to blend that location with 70’s nostalgia and a touch of rustic charm. They chose Myra Canyon Ranch as their venue and drew inspiration from the natural surrounding of the area. Décor was kept comfortable with rustic wooden pieces and 70’s inspired details. Looking to the Okanagan landscape and sunsets for their colour palette they chose bright yellows, pinks and peaches. A pop of blue help to achieve that 70s festival feel. Mostly their intention was to create the kind of atmosphere that centered around celebrating love, family, friends and joy.

A
wedding set in the beautiful Okanangan seemed the natural choice for this Vancouver couple that
met in Kelowna in 2008. Kiel and Mona have a history of weekend getaways to the Naramata Bench where they enjoy exploring the wonderful wine offerings of the area. Their vision was to have the wedding reflect both of their personalities and interests. It was important to incorporate their shared love of wine and Mona's interest in vintage style and rustic decor. They wanted to keep things simple but also host a great party with a relaxing, beautiful location. The Naramata Heritage Inn was the perfect choice. The inn was able to offer a comprehensive package including food and all equipment rentals. The setting had that perfect vintage feel they were looking for and really didn't need a lot of dressing up. Flowers from the Lavender Farm and seed packet favours personally stamped with "Bee Well Friends" helped to add a personal touch. A few favourite memories from that day included the "first look" and the post ceremony walk down the aisle in front of friends and family to "Have Love Will Travel" by The Sonics. It was while sharing a Pilsner, after the photo shoot at Van Westen Winery, where it sank in and the couple realized....we did it!!
