The Branch annually conducts training and apprenticeship awards to acknowledge the significant achievements of our people employed in the civil construction industry sector. The 2014 awards are split into the following categories:
On a quarterly basis the CCFNT holds information nights in Darwin and the regional centres, providing for member networking and information share.
• First Year Apprentice of the Year • NT Mature Age Achiever • Indigenous Trainee Award • Rae Snodgrass Apprentice of the Year NT Gala Dinner The Branch Gala Dinner is held in Darwin in June each year. The primary purpose of the event is to provide an environment for networking and fellowship; enjoying live entertainment, great food and shared stories with clients, colleagues and other industry participants. This annual function includes both the Earth Awards and the CCFNT Trainee & Apprentice Awards.
Typically functions include information on supplier services to the industry, technology and plant and machinery developments, changes to federal and state/territory legislative requirements, prescribed standards in OH&S, the environment and quality and the status of government procurement programs; amongst other issues of interest and importance to industry.
NT Xmas Luncheon The Branch hosts an annual Xmas Luncheon in December, celebrating the cessation of the ‘Dry Season’ construction period and the arrival of the monsoonal season for much of the Territory. This function provides and end of year festive occasion for members and guests and reflects the culmination of much activity in the Territory construction landscape. In many cases, this time also signals the reconnection of many in our industry with their family and friends, following extended commitment to projects in remote areas of the Territory.
