Welcome to the A/W 2016 edition of MaG! This season sees Advocate Inc entering it’s 3rd Christmas as an incorporated US business. To celebrate the wonderful talent we represent, we are proud to present a selection of our latest available and on-trend work, as well as features on some of the rising stars at the agency. We hope you enjoy taking a look! Of course, we are much more than just an image library. All of our designers and photographers are available to work on specific commissions, and our agents are happy to prepare tailor-made collections of art against specific trends or needs. There have been many exciting developments as Advocate Art Inc enters it’s second year of business. We have recently moved to larger premises in Manhattan (see below for our new address!) and two new full-time agents have joined the team. Here’s a short introduction to both of them! Hannah Abbo Manager – Advocate Art Inc. Lisa Musing With over five years experience as an artist agent, Lisa knows how to manage a project successfully from start to finish. Since joining Advocate in April, she has already built up a great rapport with the illustrators, and proven to clients that she can be trusted to handle their projects with care and attention. Amanda Hendon Amanda is a recent graduate from Parsons (Illustration) and has brought a love of stationery into her role at Advocate. She has previously designed and sold ranges of temporary tattoos, and likes to collect vintage maps and greeting cards. She has been working closely with Advocate’s illustrators to make sure their work is current and on-trend. Find us at our new address! Antoana Oreski Hello! I’m an illustrator coming from Istrian peninsula (Croatia) where I live with my husband and our two girls. Growing up on the coast I was fascinated by nature, my hands always full of bugs, lizards or some sea creatures while playing on the beach - I was fearless! I think exploring the nature was crucial for developing my imagination. The other thing I always loved was listening to my Mom’s bed time stories - they always felt so real, as if I transcended into that imaginery world.

ANO 162779

A lot of that influence can be seen in my work today through my illustrative style. I love playing with textures and patterns and I love combining hand drawn icons with digital. I’m very drawn to blue hues with bright and vibrant colours. I really love what I do and I hope it’s what I’ll be doing until I’m old and grey! ANO 168830 ANO 166608

Charlotte Pepper Drawing, making, glueing and sticking were all part of my childhood, and I never stopped! I’ve worked in the design industry for about 18 years now, and my styles and techniques have developed along the way!

CPE 168858

My work has evolved since my university days, where I mainly used acrylics, gouache and ink. While I still love to create art that is textured, often loose, and with an emphasis on markmaking and pattern, I now prefer to use Photoshop as part of my creativity. While I still often start my pieces with some ‘real painting’ to create textures, backgrounds and layers, the designs are ultimately then completed on the Mac. This allows a great deal more freedom, as I can be less precious with my initial drawings and more experimental.

Joanne Cave My love for creating began at an early age, with an inspirational art teacher and a giant tin of new colouring pencils. After gaining a first class degree in Illustration, I began my career as a Junior Illustrator at a leading greeting card publisher. I eventually worked my way up to Design Manager, creating designs for major UK retailers, and gaining a strong commercial awareness along the way. JCA 165940

I loved my job, but becoming a mum for the second time, and a desire to get back to a more handson creative role, led me to spread my wings and go freelance. I work from my home studio in rural Northamptonshire, overlooking fields and drinking lots of tea. My two young daughters are a constant source of inspiration for me, as well as being my biggest fans. Books due to be published next year!

Rebecca Prinn After working in-house for 10 years, becoming a freelancer has allowed me to experiment and hone in on my style. I’ve always loved clean vector illustrations, but now combine this with more hand drawn elements. Mark making plays an important part in my work and I’m often found rooting through the garage or kitchen finding interesting things to make marks with. I love the process of playing with layers of contrasting elements to create unpredictable results. My designs are generally quite busy, full of pattern and colour.

In my spare time, I love being out and about, spending most weekends in the Yorkshire Dales with my camera, finishing with a trip to the antique shops and tearooms! RPR 168149 RPR 166089
